Abstract

The 21st century presents various complex challenges for students, including academic pressure, technological demands, and rapid social changes. In this context, the ability to have academic resilience becomes very important for students to be able to survive and thrive. This literature review aims to analyze the role of mindfulness practice in enhancing students' academic resilience. Mindfulness, which is the practice of full awareness of the present moment without judgment, has been identified as an intervention that has the potential to strengthen students' mental resilience. Various studies show that mindfulness practice can enhance emotional regulation, impulse control, and self-efficacy in students, all of which are important components of academic resilience. Additionally, programs like Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) have proven effective in reducing academic stress and enhancing student well-being. However, the implementation of mindfulness in the educational context still faces various challenges, including the lack of training for educators and limited resources. Therefore, collaboration between educators, policymakers, and researchers is needed to effectively integrate mindfulness practices into the educational curriculum to support students' academic resilience in the modern era.

Abstract

Making informed career choices remains a critical challenge for students in the modern era, requiring counseling approaches that foster personal responsibility. This study aims to examine the effectiveness of Reality Therapy interventions in enhancing students' responsibility toward their career decisions. Employing a qualitative approach through a literature review method, this article analyzes relevant academic sources using content analysis techniques. The findings indicate that Reality Therapy consistently promotes self reflection, awareness of choices, and autonomous decision making among students. These results reinforce Choice Theory and offer both theoretical and practical contributions to the development of career guidance services in educational settings. The study concludes that this approach is highly applicable within learner centered educational environments. Further research is recommended through field studies and longitudinal evaluations to assess the sustained impact of such interventions.

Abstract

This study aims to assess the effectiveness of guidance and counseling (BK) services in implementing the Independent Curriculum at SMAN 2 Lengayang. BK services consist of four main aspects, namely basic services, responsive services, individual planning services, and system support services. The evaluation was conducted to measure the extent to which these services have been implemented in accordance with the needs of students and the direction of the Independent Curriculum policy which emphasizes the development of Pancasila student profiles. The method used in this study is a descriptive quantitative approach with data collection through questionnaires and interviews with BK teachers and students. The results of the study showed that overall, the effectiveness of BK services was in the fairly good category, although there were still several challenges in its implementation, such as limited service time, lack of coordination with homeroom teachers and parents, and low understanding of some teachers about the role of BK in supporting the implementation of the Independent Curriculum. These findings indicate the need to increase the capacity of BK teachers, better cross-sector collaboration, and managerial support from the school so that BK services can function optimally and in line with the spirit of the Independent Curriculum.
