Abstract

This foreign language training is conducted on the social sciences and political sciences department campus at the Universitas Muhammadiyah Tapanuli Selatan (UMTS). Foreign language training with the Altissia platform improves students' foreign language skills. The Altissia platform training method has 25 foreign languages ​​using the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages ​​(CEFR) learning method. This foreign language training is used so that students can practice their foreign language skills in preparation for international internships in Asian countries (Malaysia, Singapore) and Europe (England, France, and Germany). Foreign language training with the Altissia platform will determine the ability to write, read, listen, and speak. This language training uses a persuasive method online based on the web, which is applied in the learning process. Before conducting language training, a pre-test is carried out, and after five months of learning, a post-test is carried out. Data collection is carried out based on observations, namely by observing phenomena that occur in the field. The learning training provided to participants includes English training with the Altissia platform method, which involves studying using the platform for at least two hours every day for four days a week. The results from 71 participants, as many as 68 participants, increased their language ability level. Male students are better at English than women

Abstract

Tujuan riset ini untuk mengetahui implementasi program Kampus Mengajar sebagai metode penguatan literasi di SMP Negeri 7 Tanjungbalai serta mengidentifikasi faktor internal dan eksternal yang memengaruhi keberhasilannya. Penelitian ini menerapkan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif dengan teknik pengumpulan data lewat observasi dengan menggunakan daftar pernyataan yang dijadikan kuesioner, wawancara dengan siswa, serta dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian memaparkan bahwasannya aktivitas literasi yang dilakukan mahasiswa Kampus Mengajar, seperti membaca nyaring, kreativitas buku cerita, diskusi literasi, dan kegiatan pohon literasi yang berdampak positif terhadap peningkatan minat dan keterampilan membaca serta menulis siswa. Sebagian besar siswa menunjukkan partisipasi aktif dan antusiasme tinggi terhadap kegiatan yang dilakukan. Faktor pendukung keberhasilan program ini mencakup motivasi internal siswa, dukungan guru dan sekolah, partisipasi orang tua, serta pendekatan kreatif yang diterapkan mahasiswa. Implementasi Kampus Mengajar sukses mendorong ekosistem literasi yang kolaboratif erta menyenangkan di lingkungan sekolah. Temuan ini menentukan bahwasannya kegiatan Kampus Mengajar dapat menjadi strategi efisien didalam peningkatan literasi di daerah yang memiliki tantangan dalam pendidikan.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to examine the difficulties that student's face during the translation process, as well as the reasons why students have difficulty going to translate English recount text into Indonesian text. analyzing fifth, sixth and seventh grade students of Sempoa Sip Titikuning and SDN 064018 Years 2021 / 2022. The study employs a descriptive qualitative technique to describe the specifics of the students' difficulties and their process of trying to translate recount text into English to Indonesia. In order to know the result of the analysis carried out and to describe the difficulties encountered by the student’s, the researcher first reads the text, analyzes the text, writes and completes the students' translation assessment. Difficulty arranging words, loss of vocab, and comprehension of the text's translation.. Additionally, the highest proportion from the linguistic considerations is 70% of 20 students, while the highest percentage from the non-linguistic considerations 70% of 20 student’s. Which languagelinguistic considerations & non - linguistic considerations have the same result of high percentages. Abstract

Abstrak-Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan peningkatan keterampilan berbicara dalam menanggapi cerpen siswa melalui penerapan metode tongkat berbicara (talking stick). Pelaksanaan penelitian ini berdasarkan permasalahan yang ada pada pembelajaran berbicara dalam menanggapi cerpen pada siswa yang masih tergolong rendah. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah kualitatif deskriptif dengan pendekatan tindakan kelas yang mendeskripsikan keterampilan berbicara dalam menanggapi cerpen pada siswa secara klasikal dan keterampilan berbicara dalam menanggapi cerpen melalui metode tongkat berbicara (talking stick) dalam bentuk pelaksanaanya dua siklus yang terdiri dari tahap perencanaan, pelaksanaan tindakan, pengamatan, dan refleksi. Subjek penelitian ini dilakukan dengan sampel bertujuan (purposive sample) pada 30 siswa kelas VII SMP Pangeran Antasari Medan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan keterampilan berbicara dalam menanggapi cerpen siswa meningkat setelah menerapkan metode tongkat berbicara (talking stick). Pada pembelajaran prasiklus siswa memperoleh nilai rata-rata 52,33 dan persentase ketuntasan klasikal 20%. Setelah menerapkan metode tongkat berbicara (talking stick), hasil penilaian tes siswa pada siklus I memperoleh nilai rata-rata 69,5 dan meningkat menjadi 71,67 pada tes siklus II. Dilihat dari persentase ketuntasan klasikal siswa pada siklus I 66,67% meningkat pada siklus II 76,67%. Sehingga penelitian ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan metode tongkat berbicara (talking stick) dapat meningkatkan keterampilan berbicara dalam menanggapi cerpen pada siswa kelas VII SMP Pangeran Antasari Medan. Abstract

Mastery in writing a novel review is needed because a good and correct review can provide a clear picture of the novel being reviewed for the reader and encourage the reviewer to participate in reading the novel being reviewed. The existence of essential competencies in writing novel reviews at the Senior High School level in the Education Unit Level Quirkulum (KTSP) is a form of government attention to the importance of student mastery in the ability to write novel reviews. From the problems that occur in Indonesian language learning, a learning model is needed to improve the ability to write novel reviews and improve learning outcomes. The Student Teams Achievement Division (STAD) Cooperative learning model can overcome the problems of writing novel reviews. This research was conducted using the Classroom Action Approach (PTK). Action research is the application of fact finding to problem solving in social situations to improve the quality of the actions taken therein, which involves collaboration and cooperation of researchers, practitioners, and lay people.
