Abstract

Media pembelajaran merupakan metode yang digunakan dalam proses belajar mengajar dengan tujuan merangsang pola belajar untuk mencapai keberhasilan dalam proses belajar mengajar yang efektif. Media belajar mencakup segala kapasitas fitur, alat, dan media yang digunakan sebagai metode pembelajaran. Di wilayah siswa SD, terdapat berbagai metode yang dapat diaplikasikan untuk meningkatkan minat belajar di semua mata pelajaran. Pemanfaatan limbah plastik sebagai media pembelajaran memberikan pengalaman belajar kepada siswa melalui proses daur ulang limbah botol. Pemanfaatan ini dilakukan melalui proses daur ulang yang berguna untuk membersihkan dan mengolah kembali limbah botol sehingga dapat digunakan. Meskipun pengetahuan tentang daur ulang belum merata di semua sekolah karena minimnya fasilitator yang menjangkau sekolah-sekolah terpinggir, kesadaran masyarakat perlu digalakkan. Sampah plastik, sebagai limbah padat yang dihasilkan oleh masyarakat, sangat berbahaya bagi lingkungan karena sulit terurai dan mengandung zat kimia berbahaya. Kesadaran masyarakat, terutama guru di sekolah, dapat menjadi sistem kesadaran sosial dengan peran aktif dalam program 3R (Reuse, Recycle, Reduce). Pelatihan daur ulang sampah plastik dilakukan untuk meningkatkan keterampilan dan kreativitas siswa dan guru di SD N 01 Jantho Baru, dengan proses transfer ilmu pengetahuan antara guru dan murid yang terstruktur. Metode pelatihan melibatkan penyuluhan, pelatihan praktek langsung, dan penciptaan karya seni rupa kreatif dari daur ulang sampah botol plastik.

Abstract

This study examines the shift in the symbolic meaning of Acehnese gravestones in the postcolonial context. Although their visual forms have largely remained unchanged, the community’s interpretation of the symbols carved upon them has shifted significantly. Symbols that once embodied religious and social values are now often reinterpreted merely as aesthetic ornaments. Using Charles Sanders Peirce’s cultural semiotic approach, this research analyzes how the same signs are read differently by societies over time. Field observations, visual documentation, and in-depth interviews with local cultural figures and historians were conducted. The findings reveal a paradigm shift from a transcendent worldview to a materialistic-aesthetic one, where meaning is seen as inherent in material form. This study contributes to a deeper understanding of how material cultural symbols are reinterpreted within Acehnese modernity.

Abstract

This community service activity aims to represent the Sufi sentences engravedon the tombstone of Sultan Malik Al-Saleh in the form of a mural as a medium for strengthening visual culture in the Manbaul Dayah environment, Jantho City. The Sufi values ​​contained in the tombstone reflect the spiritual depth and local wisdom that are important to be passed on to the younger generation, especially the students at the dayah. Through a participatory workshop method involving the community service team and students, this activity was carried out in three main stages: (1) Dissemination related to visual arts in the realm of education, visual arts in Acehnese cultural history and mura art. (2) mural visual design and collaborative workshop process at the dayah. The results of this community service activity show that murals not only function as aesthetic elements, but also as educational media that can strengthen the understanding of cultural and spiritual values ​​in dayah education. This activity contributes to strengthening local cultural identity and increasing appreciation for the historical heritage
