TEACHING MATERIALS DEVELOPMENT FOR IMLÂ’ LESSON TO ENHANCE STUDENT’S WRITING SKILLS Martan Martan; Abdul Hafidz Zaid; Ihwan Mahmudi

Most of Indonesian students can read Arabic texts, but they cannot write good Arabic according to its rules. This research was aimed to study the characteristics of the teaching materials in Imlâ’ and find out its effectiveness for enhancing writing skill. The research used Research & Development (R&D) methodology, and used four research instruments to collect the data: interviews, questionnaires, tests, and documents for collecting data. In analyzing data, Paired Sample t-Test was used. The procedures started from the literature review, planning, design, validity and experiment to the students. Among the most important results of this research is the presence of teaching materials in the form of a textbook. Its validity is good grade, with a percentage score of 86.4%, meaning that the designed materials can be used with little modification and correction. As for its effectiveness, the researcher studied that Sig. (2-tailed) result is (0,000) < (less than) (0,005). It means that the teaching materials designed for the Imlâ’ are effective to develop the writing skill of students.

This research aims to find out the characteristics of the textbook to Imlā lesson to develop the writing skill for beginners non-native speakers, and to scale the validity of the designed textbook. As for the method used for this research is Research & Development, and the methods for collecting the data used are the interview, questionnaire, and documents. To find out the validity of the designed book, the researcher provided the questionnaire to three experts, that is, the expert in the content eligibility of the designed, the expert in the language eligibility of the designed book, and the expert in the graphic eligibility. The results of the search are the presence of the book in the form of the teacher's textbook. The researcher dealt with the characteristics of the textbook in which there are nine units, and in terms of its organization, it started from presenting examples, then explanation, qawā’id, and exercises. As for its validity, it scored good with a percentage score of 84.6%, meaning that the designed textbook can be used with little modification and correction.

Akhlaq is a good behavior seemingly visible from an individual after performing Islamic sharia, so akhlaq and the habit of custom are shaped into strongly rooted behavior and characteristics. Consequently, they will automatically be activated when performing an action without any prior consideration. Akhlaq plays an important and special role in Islam, that is positioned as the essence of ihsan by which aqeedah and sharia will not be perfect without akhlaq since the three elements are inseparable integrity. Thus, the higher the iman of an individual, the better his/her akhlaq. One of akhlaq degradation may be caused by an internal factor that is the loss of adab. The loss of adab in terms of the discipline of body, mind and soul is caused by the westernization influences which are not in line with Islamic sharia. Hence, it needs a reinstilling of akhlaq values in various forms, such as: (1) habituation for children in performing food behavior, (2) figure of parents and teachers, (3) always giving good advice for children, and (4) telling wise stories so they can take life lesson of the story Akhlak adalah prilaku baik yang nampak dari diri seseorang setelah melaksanakan syariat Islam, sehingga akhlak dan adat kebiasaan tersebut terbentuk menjadi prilaku dan sifat yang tertancap kuat dalam diri tersebut, sehingga ketika melakukan suatu perbuatan-perbuatan tanpa memerlukan pertimbangan terlebih dahulu. Akhlak menempati kedudukan yang istimewa dalam Islam, yaitu diposisikan sama dengan hakikat ihsan, sehingga akidah dan syariat tidak akan sempurna tanpa adanya akhlak karena ketiganya merupakan satu kesatuan yang tidak dapat pisahkan. Maka semakin tinggi Iman seseorang, maka semakin baik pula akhlaknya. Salah satu faktor kemerosotan akhlak disebabkan oleh faktor internal yaitu â€œthe loss of adabâ€ hilangnya adab berupa hilangnya disiplin badan, pikiran dan jiwa yang disebabkan oleh pengaruh-pengaruh westernisasi yang tidak sesuai dengan syariat Islam. Oleh sebab itu perlu penanaman kembali nilai-nilai akhlak dengan berbagai cara seperti: (1), pembiasaan kepada anak dalam berprilaku baik, (2) keteladanan orang tua dan guru, (3) selalu memberi nasehat yang baik kepada anak, dan (4) menceritakan kisah-kisah hikmah sehingga anak dapat mengambil pelajarang hidup dari kisah tersebut
