Abstract

This study aims to investigate the impact of audio-visual learning aids on enhancing the academic performance of students attending Girikirti Vihara Sunday School. Employing an experimental design with a quantitative approach, the study utilized a questionnaire administered to 12 students spanning from fourth grade elementary to third grade junior high school. Data collected through the questionnaires were analyzed using a Likert scale, while the effects of visual, audio, and audio-visual media on Buddhist religious values were assessed using the t-test. The findings reveal a significant positive correlation between the use of learning media (visual, audio, and audio-visual) and comprehension of Buddhist subjects, with achievement percentages of 85.41%, 81.25%, and 87.5%, respectively. Similarly, the impact on students' concentration during learning yielded percentages of 81.25%, 79.16%, and 83.33% for visual, audio, and audio-visual media, respectively. Moreover, the influence of these media on students' interest in Buddhist learning material was evident, with achievement percentages of 83.33%, 79.16%, and 85.41%. Regarding memory retention in Buddhist subjects, percentages of 77.08%, 81.25%, and 83.33% were achieved for visual, audio, and audio-visual media, respectively. Furthermore, the t-test analysis demonstrated a significant effect of learning media (visual, audio, and audio-visual) on the scores of Buddhist religious subjects at Girikirti Vihara Sunday School. These findings underscore the importance of utilizing effective learning media in the teaching process to enhance student achievement and comprehension.

Abstract

The Dhammadipa Arama Bursa is one of the important facilities at Dhammadipa Arama Monastery, providing a variety of devotional items, Buddhist souvenirs, as well as daily necessities such as snacks and toiletries. Inaugurated on July 17, 2011 by Bhikkhu Dhammavijayo Mahathera, the Bursa plays a vital role in supporting the religious and economic activities of the hermitage. This research aims to analyze the marketing strategies used by the manager of the Dhammadipa Arama Bursa in attracting visitors. The research method used is qualitative with the approach of interview, observation, and literature study. The results showed that the Dhammadipa Arama Bursa implemented various marketing strategies, including product, price, place, and promotion strategies. The product strategy includes the provision of Buddhist goods and daily necessities, with the featured product being Dewi Bulan liniment oil. The pricing strategy involves setting prices based on prices from suppliers with a profit of no more than 10%. Place strategy includes a location close to the main gate, but less visible from the outside. Promotion is limited through social media and brochures during major Buddhist celebrations such as Kathina. These findings indicate the importance of the manager's enthusiasm and persistence (Vīriya Balaṁ) in developing the Dhammadipa Arama Bursa to make it better known and beneficial for visitors and for the Dhammadipa Arama Padepokan.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to compare the effects on students at Kertarajasa College of Buddhism (STAB) before and after they used Chat GPT. The research design employed in this study is an experiment using a quantitative methodology. A questionnaire given to every student and the average GPA from batch 21's first and seventh semesters served as the research instrument. A Likert scale and a t-test will be used to assess the data gathered from the distribution of questionnaires in order to determine the average GPA score. The study's findings clarify why Chat GPT's degree of use has a positive impact. The evaluation, comprising 30 questions, yielded a total score of 5710 with a percentage achievement of 73.21%. In the partial assessment, the motivation aspect had a value of 1909 with a percentage achievement of 73.35%, the effectiveness aspect had a value of 1889 with a percentage achievement of 72.65%, and the technology aspect had a value of 1912 with a percentage achievement of 73.54%. Additionally, the average GPA value in the t-test showed a significance value of 2.61> t_0.05, indicating a very real effect of Chat GPT use on raising the average GPA value. As a result, measures must be taken to guarantee that this technology is exclusively utilized as a tool to help educators deliver better instruction.

Abstract

This study examines the perception of religious harmony in the Banyuwangi and Blitar communities, East Java. The aim is to find out about the level of acceptance of Banyuwangi and Blitar people on the reality of diversity of beliefs and religions in Indonesia. In addition, this paper also looks at how the attitudes of the two communities face various impacts on diversity to create inter-religious harmony. With a quantitative descriptive approach through analysis of minimum and maximum frequency (number) and comparison of relative frequencies (percentages) of two data groups, namely Blitar and Banyuwangi communities, this study shows that people in these two cities: (1) are increasingly critical in seeing problems in relations between-religion; (2) see that maintaining relationships, togetherness, and mutual assistance is an obligation in social life; In addition, (3) insights about other religions are very important to develop religious harmony by not only avoiding prejudice, but also building empathy for people of other religions or beliefs. Putting this into consideration, this research suggests that the existing interfaith forum needs to be more community based

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui respon mahasiswa STAB Kertarajasa terhadap hasil Program Praktik Pengalaman Lapangan (PPL) mahasiswa Sekolah Tinggi Agama Buddha (STAB) Kertarajasa tahun 2023/2024 semester VII. Penelitian ini digunakan pendekatan kuantitatif. Populasi yang ada di semester VII tahun akademik 2023/2024 dengan jumlah 26 dan ukuran sampel yang digunakan sebanyak 26 mahasiswa. Mahasiswa yang dijadikan sebagai responden ini sudah melaksanakan PPL. Hasil percobaan menunjukan keragaan (performance) hasil Program Praktik Pengalaman Lapangan (PPL) terhadap lima indikator, yaitu NPM berada pada kategori sangat baik dengan persen capaian 82% dari yang diharapkan (100%), NLBS berada pada kategori baik dengan persen capaian 77,4% dari yang diharapkan (100%), NPS berada pada kategori baik dengan persen capaian 81% dari yang diharapkan (100%), NSP berada pada kategori sangat baik dengan persen capaian 83,3% dari yang diharapkan (100%), dan NSS berada pada kategori sangat baik dengan persen capaian 89,10% dari yang diharapkan (100%). Berdasarkan Uji Korelasi, maka terdapat hasil yang menunjukan hubungan positif korelasi antara hubungan nilai akhir PPL dengan lima indikator, dimana kelima indikator ini menujukan hubungan positif. Dengan demikian pelaksanaan penelitian ini dianggap berada pada titik yang efektif untuk digunakan dan dilanjutkan sebagai evaluasi program lanjutan untuk menilai sejauh mana kefektifan dari pelaksanaan PPL bagi mahasiswa.
