Abstract

This research provides a systematic review of the influence of Management Information Systems (MIS) in the education sector, especially amidst technological shifts that are changing the educational landscape. Three research questions (RQs) were directed at exploring the impact of MIS on operational efficiency, strategic decision-making, and supporting educational innovation. The research findings imply that MIS is a key element in spurring positive change in the education sector. RQ1 highlights the role of MIS in improving the operational efficiency of educational institutions. Effective MIS integration makes it easier to automate administrative processes, improve resource management, and optimize financial processes. RQ2 focuses on the role of MIS in supporting strategic decision-making. Analysis shows that MIS facilitates data-driven strategic planning, provides better visibility into performance, and improves responsiveness to technological change. Meanwhile, RQ3 examines the integration of MIS in supporting educational innovation, showing that MIS becomes a catalyst for the development of new learning platforms, increasing student engagement, and creating a responsive learning environment. In conclusion, MIS is considered important in managing education in an era of technology that continues to develop. The implications of this research include the need to increase the understanding and application of MIS in educational institutions, as well as recommendations to guide practitioners, policymakers, and further study in efforts to maintain efficiency, sustainability, and innovation in the education system.

Abstract

Teachers are not only obliged to transfer the knowledge to their students. However, it is demanded to be more professional and more competent. One of thing can be done to improve the ability of the teachers in professional development is to increase the ability in writing a textbook. Based on the observations and the interviews with the teachers of SMA Pirak Timu, North Aceh District, there is still lack of understanding in writing a good textbook, as well as in using the applications that can be designed as learning media. For that reason, it is very important to have a training and assistance for teachers as an effort to develop the skills and creativity in writing textbook. This training had been done face to face (directly). After direct coaching, it is continued with assistance in writing textbook. With the existence of textbooks, teachers are expected to be able to prepare teaching materials which is sustainable, logical, contextual and up-to-date. Increasing teacher competence leads in increasing the student competence, so that learning objectives are expected to be achieved. The results obtained in this community service are a media publication, collaboration between Malikussaleh University and SMAN 1 Pirak Timu, and scientific journal publication. This work also has a positive impact on teachers to add scientific insight in writing textbooks to assist the learning process according to the condition and situations. Abstract

In an increasingly connected digital era, personal data has become a strategic asset that is vulnerable to misuse. The mass media, as an important part of the digital ecosystem, plays a dual role as a manager and disseminator of information involving individual data. The enactment of Law No. 27 of 2022 concerning Personal Data Protection (UU PDP) is an important milestone in the Indonesian legal system, but its implementation raises complex problems in mass communication practices. The main legal issue in this article lies in the tension between the media's obligation to protect personal data and press freedom in conveying information to the public. This study aims to examine the legal impact of the PDP Law on the mass media by examining the challenges, implications, and needs for regulatory adjustments. The approach used is the normative legal method, with a qualitative analysis of national laws and regulations (UU PDP, UU ITE, UU Press), GDPR as an international standard, and related legal literature. The results of the study indicate that the PDP Law demands significant reforms in data governance by media institutions, including transparency, security, data subject consent, and protection of sensitive data. On the other hand, the disorder of norms and the absence of an independent supervisory authority create gaps in implementation. This study also offers strategic recommendations for mass media to adjust journalistic practices and digital business with the PDP Law, including harmonization of journalistic codes of ethics and the use of data anonymization technology. In conclusion, the success of the PDP Law in the media sector requires synchronization of regulations, strengthening institutions, and increasing media actors' awareness of the principles of digital privacy rights.

Abstract

Abstract

Sharia microfinancing is considered a strategic instrument in supporting inclusive finance and the growth of MSMEs (Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises) as the backbone of the national economy. However, this instrument remains limited by financing access, the sharia financial literacy, and technology utilization; thus, a sustainable and effective financing ecosystem model should be developed. This study aims to describe the sharia microfinancing ecosystem model and the distribution practices of microfinancing on MSMEs of Bank Syariah Indonesia (BSI) Surabaya HR Muhammad 1 Branch by utilizing a qualitative approach and case study methods. The result demonstrates that sharia micro financing in BSI involves diverse actors, including the bank, MSME clients, regulatory bodies, and business communities; by implementing sharia principles, for instance, transactions without riba (usury), maisir (speculation), or gharar (uncertainty), as well as using murabaha (cost-plus financing) and musharakah (sharing and partnership financing) agreement. Some products offered are Sharia KUR (People’s Business Credit) and Micro Business BSI - non KUR (non-PBC), with a credit ceiling up to IDR 500 millions. They are also supported by digital innovation, such as the I-Kurma application and the BSI Agent program. The financing scheme implementation positively affects MSMEs' growth, as observed through increasing sales volume and business expansion. However, some challenges remain present, such as a low level of literacy within the society regarding Sharia financing products and administrative problems in the digitalization process. Therefore, this research recommends BSI to advance its sharia financial education program, optimize its digital system, and strengthen risk management to improve the efficiency of sustainable sharia micro financing.
