Abstract

The existence of Twitter, or now replaced with Name X, has been widely used by various levels of society in recent years. And social media X is one of the media that represents public responses to public figures. This study aims to perform sentiment analysis on the opinions of the Indonesian public regarding the public figure Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan on social media X. The data used is 4008 data related to the topic which was obtained through web scraping techniques. This study compares the performance of two popular classification algorithms in sentiment analysis, namely Naïve Bayes and Support Vector Machine (SVM). Before the comparison, SMOTE (Synthetic Minority Over-sampling Technique) optimization was carried out to balance the number of minority and majority data so that both algorithms could learn better from each sentiment class. The results of the comparison show that the Naïve Bayes algorithm produces an accuracy of 95%, while the SVM produces an accuracy of 99%, precision 99%, recall 100%, and F1-Score 99%. Performance evaluation was also carried out by analyzing the confusion matrix of each algorithm. It can be concluded that SVM has the best performance in classifying positive and negative sentiments more accurately than Naïve Bayes for the case of sentiment analysis towards the public figure Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan. Therefore, the SVM algorithm can be a better choice for sentiment analysis towards public figures. This research contributes to the understanding of public opinion about Luhut's performance while serving as the Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment of Indonesia

Abstract

Destination Management Organizations (DMOs) play an important role in coordinating stakeholders and strengthening tourism governance, yet many rural destinations continue to experience fragmented institutions, limited managerial capacity, and weak integration of local communities. This study examines how strengthening a village-level DMO contributes to community-based tourism development in Sawahan Village, Trenggalek Regency, an emerging rural destination characterized by waterfall ecotourism and community-managed services. Using a qualitative case study approach, data were collected through in-depth interviews with 15 key informants, supported by field observations and document analysis, and analyzed using thematic analysis to identify governance patterns and community outcomes. The findings show that institutional strengthening led to more structured coordination, evidenced by the formation of formal tourism management units and the implementation of routine coordination meetings among stakeholders. In addition, the adoption of digital-based promotion, particularly through social media platforms managed by local operators, increased destination visibility as reflected in more consistent monthly visitor flows reported by tourism managers. Community participation also expanded, as local residents became directly involved in homestay provision, guiding services, and micro-scale tourism enterprises, indicating observable changes in local economic engagement rather than solely perceived benefits. These results demonstrate that clearer institutional roles, improved coordination mechanisms, and inclusive participation practices contribute to more effective and locally grounded tourism governance. This study offers an empirical contribution by showing how DMO strengthening at the village level translates governance principles into practical outcomes, while highlighting the importance of context-specific institutional capacity building for sustainable rural tourism development.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze in depth the implementation of classroom management in Geography learning at public senior high schools in East Kampar to support effective and conducive learning processes. This research employed a descriptive qualitative approach, with data collected through field observations, in-depth interviews, and documentation. The findings indicate that Geography teachers implemented classroom management through structured lesson planning, flexible classroom arrangement, and the creation of a learning climate that encouraged students’ active participation. Positive interpersonal communication between teachers and students also played an important role in maintaining discipline and minimizing disruptions during instruction. Other findings show that classroom management directly improved learning motivation, discussion engagement, and students’ ability to understand Geography concepts contextually, although challenges remained, including differences in student characteristics and limited learning facilities. The theoretical and practical implications of this study strengthen the view that classroom management is an integral component of pedagogical strategy in Geography education. Practically, the findings may serve as a reference for teachers and schools in designing adaptive, effective, learner-centered management models. The study concludes that consistent classroom management improves Geography learning quality and outcomes.
