Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the use of the spelling method assisted by flash card media in improving initial reading skills in grade I students of SDN 06 East Mempawah. The main problem in learning to read is the low ability of students to distinguish syllables and recognize letter symbols. This research is a Class Action Research (PTK) which is carried out in two cycles with stages of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The data collection technique uses tests. The results of the study showed a significant increase in initial reading ability. In the pre-cycle, the percentage of learning completeness was 24%, increasing to 52% in cycle I, and reaching 96% in cycle II. The average score of students also increased from 71.4 in the first cycle to 85.84 in the second cycle. These results show that the spelling method assisted by flash card media is effective in improving students' initial reading skills.

Abstract

This study aims to improve students' learning outcomes in understanding invitation sentences through the implementation of the role-playing method assisted by picture media. The background of this research is based on the low learning outcomes of students in Indonesian language subjects, particularly in the topic of invitation sentences, which is caused by the use of conventional teaching methods without adequate media support. This study employs a classroom action research (CAR) method using the McTaggart model by Kemmis & Nixon, consisting of two cycles. Data were collected through observation, tests, and documentation. The results of the study indicate an improvement in student learning outcomes after the implementation of role-playing assisted by picture media. In the pre-cycle, the percentage of student mastery was only 45.83%, which increased to 62.5% in the first cycle and reached 87.49% in the second cycle. Thus, the role-playing method assisted by picture media is proven to be effective in enhancing students' understanding and learning outcomes in the topic of invitation sentences in Grade II of SDIT Al-Hikmah Pontianak.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh penggunaan buku cerita bergambar terhadap peningkatan keterampilan membaca peserta didik kelas 1 SDIT Al-Baariq. Keterampilan membaca merupakan aspek fundamental dalam proses pembelajaran, terutama di tingkat sekolah dasar, namun masih banyak siswa yang mengalami kesulitan dalam memahami teks bacaan. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah eksperimen dengan desain nonequivalent control group design, Populasi pada penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas IA sebagai kelas eksperimen dan kelas IC sebagai kelas kontrol di mana kelas eksperimen diberikan perlakuan menggunakan media buku cerita bergambar, sedangkan kelas kontrol menggunakan metode konvensional. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa rata-rata keterampilan membaca siswa di kelas eksperimen meningkat secara signifikan dari 49,05 sebelum perlakuan menjadi 83,6 setelah perlakuan. Uji-t menunjukkan bahwa thitung (55,368) lebih besar dari ttabel (2,10092), yang berarti terdapat pengaruh signifikan penggunaan buku cerita bergambar terhadap keterampilan membaca siswa. Oleh karena itu, buku cerita bergambar dapat digunakan sebagai media pembelajaran yang efektif dalam meningkatkan keterampilan membaca siswa kelas rendah.
