Abstract

Semakin tinggi nilai indeks massa tubuh, semakin rendah skor Genant.     Kata kunci : Indeks massa tubuh; foto torakolumbal; grading mosteoporosis menurut genant

Abstract

Acute appendicitis is an abdominal emergency condition that commonly occurs in individuals of all ages. Traditionally, open appendectomy has been the standard method for treating appendicitis. However, with the advent of laparoscopy, laparoscopic appendectomy is now a promising alternative with potentially significant benefits. This study aims to evaluate and compare the results of laparoscopic appendectomy and open appendectomy in the treatment of acute appendicitis. From an analysis of 16 articles published between 2020-2024, laparoscopic appendectomy showed significant advantages, including less severe postoperative pain, shorter length of stay, faster recovery, and lower risk of complications such as wound infection. Overall, laparoscopic appendectomy is a better option in the treatment of acute appendicitis compared with open appendectomy.

Abstract

Anorectal malformations represent a broad spectrum of abnormalities in the formation of the anus and rectum ranging from stenosis to anorectal agenesis. The mortality rate of patients with high anorectal malformations is higher than that of low anorectal malformations due to the higher incidence of comorbidities in high anorectal malformations. The incidence of anorectal malformations is still relatively low, while the characteristics of anorectal malformations based on classification, gender, age, birth weight... The method used is literature review with Narrative Review design. The results obtained in this literature are that there are 15 articles obtained with restrictions from 2018 - 2023 and in-depth analysis of the strengths and limitations of each article regarding the incidence and characteristics of anorectal malformations, 12 articles mention the incidence and characteristics of anorectal malformations and 3 articles only mention the incidence of anorectal malformations.

Abstract

Background: Burns are serious tissue injuries that require rapid treatment to prevent infection, accelerate healing, and reduce the risk of scarring. One therapeutic innovation is Autologous Skin Cell Suspension (ASCS) using the ReCell device. Based on a real-world registry data study from the United States (Burn Care Quality), ReCell uses a small sample of patient skin processed into a cell suspension and sprayed onto the wound to stimulate skin regeneration and improve healing outcomes. Objective: This literature review aims to analyze the effectiveness of ReCell in healing burns based on ten articles published in the period 2018–2025. Methods: The literature review was obtained from PubMed, ScienceDirect, and Google Scholar, then analyzed narratively. Results: The study results showed that ReCell accelerates re-epithelialization with a shorter healing time compared to conventional skin grafts, and reduces the need for a skin donor area by more than 30%. In addition, ReCell provides better aesthetic results, although its effectiveness in reducing pain, infection, and repigmentation has not been consistent. Several pediatric studies also reported the success of ReCell as a monotherapy. Conclusion: ReCell is a promising method to help heal second-degree (deep partial thickness) to third-degree (full thickness) burns.
