Abstract

This study aims to examine the role of spatial dependence on Indonesia’s regional economic growth based on panel data of all provinces in Indonesia during 1990–2015. By using spatial Durbin model, the authors found that spatial dependence plays an important role in achieving regional economic growth in Indonesia. Indonesia’s regional economic growth model that controls spatial dependence, yields better estimates than growth model that does not control spatial dependence. The researchers also found positive spatial spillover to Indonesia’s regional economic growth sourced from other region’s economic growth and initial per capita incomes, as well as population growth in other regions.

Abstract

This research analyzed the heat rate of a steam turbine in the palm factory of PT. KSA (PT. KSA) using performance testing methods. Steam turbine heat rate is a crucial parameter in power plant efficiency, and optimizing it can lead to significant cost savings. The research methodology conducted performance tests on the steam turbine at KSA's palm factory. The collected data was analyzed to determine the rate of improvement. The efficiency of a steam turbine can be seen from the heat energy input to produce 1 kWh of electricity and the turbine heat rate. Steam turbine efficiency was compared with the fuel energy required for every 1 kWh with the turbine heat rate. The turbine heat rate value was obtained based on the performance test, with the highest value being 51.516 (kJ/kWh) and the lowest being 40.514 (kJ/kWh). For steam turbine efficiency, the highest value was 8.89%, and the lowest value was 6.99%.

Abstract

In Sultan Imanuddin Hospital's central surgical room, analyzing the cooling load is essential to maintaining optimal working conditions for medical procedures. This study aimed to evaluate the efficacy of the cooling system in the surgical room according to the Republic of Indonesia's Minister of Health Regulation Number 7 of 2019. The investigation measured the cooling load required to maintain the room temperature within established health standards. The central surgical room was found to have a cooling load of 4301.462 kcal/h, equivalent to 17059.60 Btu/h. The hospital's air conditioning system, with a capacity of 2 PK or 18000 Btu/h, was determined to be sufficient to handle this load, providing a margin of 940.4 Btu/h. These findings enhance our understanding of the hospital's cooling system and offer recommendations to ensure that patients and medical personnel receive high-quality, safe care.

Abstract

Abstract

Tuberculosis is one of the infectious diseases that is still a public health problem around the world. Balikpapan City in 2020, the number of patients infected with tuberculosis was 937 patients. As for 2021, there are 1,152 new patients and for 2022 until June there are 566 new patients. According to data obtained by the Karang Rejo Health Center, it is known that the number of patients infected with tuberculosis in 2020 was 36 people, then in 2021 as many as 18 people, and in 2022 as many as 17 people. This study aims to determine the determining factors for the success of treatment of tuberculosis (TB) patients at the Karang Rejo Health Center, Balikpapan City. This study used the design method of cross-sectional analytical research. The sample in this study was 17 patients in 2022. Using data analysis through two steps, namely univariate analysis and bivariate analysis using the Chi Square test and the Fisher's Exact test. The results showed that there was no significant association between treatment status (P-Value 0.63), age (P-Value 0.46), sex (P-Value 0.56), occupation (P-Value 0.48), diagnosis type (P-Value 0.27), OAT guidance (P-Value 0.56) and adherence rate to cadres (P-Value 0.79) with successful tuberculosis treatment. Meanwhile, there is a relationship between the source of the drug and the success of tuberculosis treatment with a P-Value of 0.05
