Abstract

The background of this research is the students' lack of interest in learning mathematics, especially in trigonometry material. The research objective was to determine the increase in students' interest in learning mathematics through discovery learning models on Trigonometry material. The research method used is an experimental method by administering pre-test and post-test questionnaires. The research sample consisted of 20 students of class XI IPA 3 at SMA N 1 JUNJUNG SIRIH. The data analysis technique uses the r-test. Based on the results of the research, it shows that the natural discovery learning model of learning mathematics brings an increase in students' interest in learning, especially in Trigonometry material. Keywords: mathematics, interest in learning, discovery learning

Abstract

Baileo traditional house is a distinctive cultural heritage of Maluku containing physics principles for elementary science learning. Ethnophysics learning integrates local cultural values in natural science teaching. This research aims to identify physics concepts in Baileo traditional house structure and analyze their integration into elementary science learning. The research method used qualitative approach through literature study by analyzing 35 relevant articles. Results show that Baileo traditional house structure contains physics concepts including object equilibrium, moment of force, heat transfer, conduction, thermal insulation, light, air flow, pressure, and fluid suitable for elementary science materials. Baileo traditional house can serve as science learning object connecting physics concepts with local culture, aligned with Science Learning Outcomes phases A and B of Merdeka Curriculum emphasizing observation of natural phenomena and surrounding environment. Through Baileo house as study object, students learn physics concepts concretely and meaningfully through local culture, while developing Pancasila Student Profile such as collaboration, local wisdom, and critical thinking. This aligns with Merdeka Curriculum principles encouraging integration between science and students' real-life contexts through local culture.

Abstract

Abstract

This study is ex-post facto studythat is causal in nature in order to measure the direct and indirect effects of learning and independence of learning activities on learning outcomes. The study was conducted on 151 students of SMP Negeri 21 Ambon. Data was collected using observation, questionnaires, and tests. Data analysis used descriptive statistics and Structural Equation Model (SEM). From this study the results were obtained: (1) There was an effect of learning activities on student self-learning directly by , including the medium category; (2) There is an influence of learning activities on students' mathematics learning outcomes directly by , including the medium category; (3) There is an effect of learning independence on students' mathematics learning outcomes directly by , including the low category; (4) There is an influence of learning activities on student mathematics learning outcomes indirectly through learning independence by , including low categories; (5) Total effect of learning activities to students' mathematics learning outcomes either directly or indirectly through independent learning including the big categories

Abstract

Differences in personality types significantly influence individuals’ ways of thinking, which in turn affect the problem-solving strategies they employ in mathematics. This study aims to analyze students’ Creative Thinking Ability (CTA) in solving mathematical problems based on rational and guardian personality types. A descriptive qualitative approach was employed, involving four tenth-grade students from SMA Negeri 2 Enrekang, consisting of two students with rational personality types and two with guardian personality types. The research instruments included a creative thinking ability test, the Keirsey personality test questionnaire, and interview guidelines. Data validity was ensured through source triangulation, while data analysis was carried out using data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings revealed that students with rational personality types demonstrated higher levels of creative thinking ability, averaging at CTA level 3, as they were able to meet the indicators of fluency and flexibility in solving problems. However, both personality types did not show evidence of originality. Students with guardian personality types generally performed at CTA level 1, as they typically relied on a single method of problem-solving, except in problem number 2 where they were able to reach CTA level 3. This study was limited to rational and guardian personality types, and therefore cannot be generalized to other personality types. Future research is recommended to include artisan and idealist personality types to provide a more comprehensive understanding in line with David Keirsey’s theory.
