Abstract

Mathematics learning will be more interesting if aspects of the cultural context around students are involved. In this regard, the identification of cultural aspects of both material and non-material culture needs to be continuously carried out and integrated into learning. This research is an exploratory study to identify the material culture in villages in the Central Maluku district on Ambon Island. There are 3 (three) sub-districts in the administrative area of Central Maluku Regency located on Ambon Island. In each sub-district, one village was selected as a sample village, considering that (1) the village is a traditional village and (2) cultural objects are still well preserved. In the Leihitu sub-district, Negeri/Village Hila was selected; in the West Leihitu sub-district, Negeri/Village Allang was selected; and in the Salahutu sub-district, Negeri/Village Tulehu was selected. Data collection was done through observation and interviews. Data were analyzed using descriptive qualitative. The identification process found that the material culture, in the form of traditional houses, bailey, forts, old churches, old mosques, fishing facilities, weaving, and food, is related to mathematical objects. Material culture can be a cultural context that is integrated into learning the concept of flat and spatial shapes

Abstract

Nweleya or Weleya is a typical tradition of the people on Masela Island, Southwest Maluku Regency. It was marked by sharing food in one dish between the brothers in a traditional house. Eating together on one plate between friends, especially those who are bound by the Klaktuty tradition or the tradition of entrusting children to be breastfed by other mothers who are breastfeeding. However, due to the intrusion of building this tradition, it began to disappear from the community. Therefore the purpose of this study is as a basis for cultural exploration on Masela Island. This study uses a phenomenological approach with participant observation techniques. The results of the field study show that philosophically, this tradition has a very high value and shows the first value, togetherness, kinship, and inner bond as one brother's unit. Second, it has the same taste and taste, continuity in love, and pleasure. Third, it builds mutual respect for life, care, and sharing of resources. Finally, it produces patience and self-control of people on the island of Masela. Unfortunately, along with the development of modernization, traditional houses have been replaced with permanent and semi-permanent houses with new models that are different from traditional houses. This change had a serious impact on the erosion of the Nweleya tradition. Abstract

This research was motivated by the difficulties of SMA Negeri 5 Maluku Tengah students in understanding exponential function material. One of the abilities that must be possessed to understand mathematics is mathematical reasoning. This research uses qualitative descriptive research methods. The subjects in this research were 3 students selected from 34 students based on their odd semester final exam scores for the 2021/2022 academic year in the high, medium and low categories. The instruments used were test question and interview guidelines. The test instrument consist of 4 essay questions which are prepared based on mathematical reasoning indicators and have been validated. The research result show that overall student mathematics is in the medium category with a percentage 50%. All three subjects can fulfill all rhe specified mathematical reasoning indicators. The subject’s ability to carry out mathematical reasoning is determined by the subject’s initial knowledge and subject’s ability to use his knowledge in developing appropriate solution strategies

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan kesalahan siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 21 Ambon dalam menyelesaikan soal cerita matematika Teorema Pythagoras berdasarkan Prosedur Newman. Jenis penelitian, yaitu kualitatif dengan dukungan kuantitatif. Subjek dalam penelitian ini, yaitu 3 orang siswa yang dipilih dari 20 siswa dengan kriteria penilaian soal tes Teorema Pythagoras (Tinggi, Sedang dan rendah) dan pendapat guru mata pelajaran. Analisis data kuantitatif yang digunakan, yaitu menghitung hasil tes lalu mengklasifikasikannya ke dalam penilaian acuan patokan, sedangkan analisis data kualitatif terdiri dari reduksi data, penyajian data dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukan kesalahan siswa kategori tinggi, yaitu kesalahan memahami soal untuk soal nomor 1 dan nomor 3, dan kesalahan keterampilan proses untuk soal nomor 1 dan soal nomor 2. Kesalahan siswa kategori sedang, yaitu kesalahan memahami soal untuk ke tiga soal dan kesalahan keterampilan proses untuk soal nomor 1 dan soal nomor 2. Kesalahan siswa kategori rendah, yaitu kesalahan memahami soal untuk ke tiga soal, kesalahan transformasi soal untuk ke tiga soal, kesalahan keterampilan proses untuk soal nomor 1 dan soal nomor 3 dan kesalahan penulisan jawaban akhir untuk soal nomor 3

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan kemampuan siswa dalam menyelesaikan soal High Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) pada materi program linier di kelas XI SMA Negeri 63 Maluku Tengah. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif kuantitatif-kualitatif. Sumber data yang dilibatkan dalam penelitian ini berjumlah 18 siswa. Awalnya direncanakan 5 subjek dengan 1 siswa kemampuan sangat tinggi, 1 siswa kemampuan tinggi, 1 siswa kemampuan sedang, 1 siswa kemampuan rendah dan 1 siswa kemampuan sangat rendah, tetapi pada hasil tes tidak terdapat siswa yang memiliki kemampuan sangat tinggi dan tinggi sehingga diambil 3 subjek penelitian dengan kemampuan sedang, rendah dan sangat rendah. 3 subjek terpilih kemudian diwawancarai untuk mengetahui kemampuan siswa dalam menyelesaikan soal High Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) yang dianalisis dengan tahapan pemecahan masalah langkah polya. Berdasarkan hasil analisis, nilai rata-rata dari keseluruhan soal tes diperoleh 5.55% untuk kemampuan menganalisis dan 30.5% untuk kemampuan mengevaluasi. Sehingga kemampuan siswa kelas XI dalam menyelesaikan soal High Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) tergolong sangat rendah. Kata Kunci: High Order Thinking Skills, Langkah Polya, Program Linear

Abstract

Spatial skills are important for studying geometric shapes. People who have good spatial abilities can easily imagine objects in three dimensions. Factors that influence differences in student abilities include gender differences. The aim of this research is to describe students' spatial abilities in terms of gender differences. The type of research used is quantitative-qualitative research. Spatial ability test results data are calculated and presented in quantitative form and analyzed qualitatively. This research was conducted at SMA Negeri 3 Ambon class X Science 1 with a total of 36 students consisting of 12 male students and 24 female students. In determining the subject of this research, a purposive sampling technique was used, namely taking data sources with certain considerations. The research subjects selected to be interviewed were 6 students with the assessment criteria for spatial ability test questions consisting of 1 male student and 1 female student with high spatial ability, 1 male student and 1 female student with moderate spatial ability, and 1 male student with moderate spatial ability. male and 1 female student with low spatial abilities. The largest percentage of student test results are in the low category. Based on the results of the spatial ability test, it shows that in the element of spatial perception, male subjects are more likely to meet the indicators of the ability to identify objects vertically and horizontally even though the position of the object is manipulated. Meanwhile, female subjects tend to use their spatial abilities as indicators of the ability to distinguish lines, horizontal and vertical planes in spatial figures. In the spatial visualization element, male subjects are more likely to fulfill the indicators than female subjects regarding stacks of unit cubes whose position or shape has been manipulated and visualizing stacks of unit cubes from more than one point of view. For the element of mental rotation, male subjects tend to be more capable than female subjects of rotating, imagining rotation and describing a flat shape or spatial structure correctly after rotation. However, elements of spatial orientation of female subjects are more likely to determine the appearance of objects from different perspectives than male subjects. In the spatial relations element, male subjects are more likely to determine the relationship of an object with other objects than female subjects.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan dan menganalisis pencapaian kemampuan numerasi siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 1 kecamatan pulau - pulau terselatan dalam menyelesaikan soal pada materi operasi bilangan bulat dan himpunan. Jenis penelitian ini adalah kuantitatif - kualitatif. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah 3 siswa yang dipilih dari 38 siswa dikategorikan dari skala penilaian Ratumanan dan Laurens (Tinggi, Sedang, dan Rendah) dan pendapat guru terhadap subjek. Data dikumpulkan berdasarkan soal tes yang mewakili semua indikator kemampuan numerasi. Data dianalisis dengan cara memberikan skor berpatokan pada rubrik untuk setiap jawaban subjek. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan siswa dengan kategori numerasi tinggi (WA) mampu memenuhi semua indikator kemampuan numerasi pada soal nomor 3,2, dan 4, namun cukup mampu memenuhi semua indikator kemampuan numerasi pada soal nomor 1. Subjek dengan kategori numerasi sedang (ZAD) mampu memenuhi semua indikator kategori numerasi pada soal nomor 1 dan 4, sedangkan untuk subjek kategori numerasi rendah (DL) hanya mampu memenuhi semua indikator numerasi pada soal nomor 1.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui penerapan matematika dalam aktivitas yang dilakukan oleh masyarakat desa Neath. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan etnografi dan untuk mengetahui cara-cara menghitung yang dilakukan oleh masyarakat desa Neath, yakni penjumlahan dan pengurangan tahun 2023/2024, subjek S sebagai petani kebun dan subjek B sebagai ibu-ibu yang berjual di pasar. Wawancara digunakan untuk mengukur cara aritmatika berhitung pada masyarakat desa Neath. Dari hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat aktivitas etnomatematika pada subjek. Aktivitas berhitung, yakni mulai dari penentuan harga jual, hitung total belanja, hitung uang kembali untuk subjek S, sedangkan subjek B dari memperkirakan banyak bibit tanaman kacang dalam satu lahan kebun, menentukan jarak tanam dan menghitung waktu panen.

Abstract

This study examines the implementation of School-Based Management (SBM) at SMA Negeri 3 Kepulauan Aru with the aim of evaluating the planning, implementation, and development of educational activities at the school. The method used is a descriptive qualitative approach through interviews with the principal, teachers, and school committee as well as a review of documents related to school planning, curriculum, and learning activities. The results of the study indicate that educational activity planning is carried out through the preparation of the School Development Plan (RPS) and involves various related parties. The curriculum implemented includes the 2013 Curriculum and the Merdeka Curriculum, adjusted to the school's vision and mission. However, several obstacles were still found in the implementation, including limited teaching staff and lack of attention to extracurricular activities. Supervision by the principal is carried out routinely to ensure the quality of learning and improve teacher professionalism. Overall, SMA Negeri 3 Kepulauan Aru has implemented SBM, but there is room for improvement in terms of community involvement and optimization of learning activities.

Abstract

The aims of this research is to determine the effect of information technology mastery and work motivation on teacher performance. This research was conducted at SMA Negeri 6 Seram Bagian Timur and SMA Negeri 9 Seram Timur, involving 41 teachers. The results of this research explained that the data description for the variable mastery of information technology, obtained as many as 12 teachers (29.27%) had very high mastery of information technology, 25 teachers (60.98%) had high mastery of information technology and 4 teachers (9.75%) has moderate mastery of information technology. The description of the data for the work motivation variable in this research was that 16 teachers (39.02%) had very high work motivation, 16 teachers (39.02%) had high work motivation, and as many as 9 teachers (21.96%) had work motivation. In the middle category. Furthermore, for the teacher performance, it was found that 13 teachers (31.71%) had very high teacher performance, 22 teachers (53.66%) had high teacher performance, and 6 teachers (14.63%) had moderate performance. Based on the results of the analysis of the three hypotheses, the following conclusions can be obtained: (1) The mastery of information technology has no positive and significant influence on the teacher’s performance due to some factors; (2) There is a significant effect of work motivation on teacher performance. This is evidenced by Fcount = 27.750 Ftable = 3.24 with a coefficient of determination (R Square) of 0.416; (3) There is a significant influence of information technology mastery and work motivation together on the teacher’s performance. This is evidenced from Fcount = 15.650 Ftable = 3.24 with a coefficient of determination (R Square) value is 0.452
