Abstract

Abstract:Reform 98 was a turning point in history, where the national agenda had replaced a New Order era that seemed totalitarian and full of militaristic elements, towards a more democratic system of state life. Democratization is based on the interests of many people who are considered to have experienced a lot of moral and material oppression, so that not a few citizens' rights are not fulfilled or even eroded. Not a few Muslim thinkers who are involved in the succession of this reform, given that the teachings that exist in Islam also contain high praise for human dignity. So that the momentum of Reform 98 is a quite appropriate time for the process of implementation, transformation, internalization, and revitalization of Islamic values through political struggle. Abstract

Indonesia's Foreign Policy has played an essential role in determining the direction of this country's international relations. One example is the termination of Indonesia's participation in the Inter-Governmental Group on Indonesia (IGGI) in 1992. This study analyses the factors underlying Indonesia's foreign policy decision to terminate the IGGI. Using a historical approach and foreign policy analysis, this research highlights the political, economic and strategic factors influencing these policies. The results show that Indonesia's termination of the IGGI was a response to regional and global political dynamics at the time and shifts in Indonesia's foreign policy priorities. The implications of terminating the IGGI on Indonesia's bilateral relations with donor countries and Indonesia's domestic political dynamics are also debated in this analysis. This study provides important insights into the relationship between Indonesian foreign policy and regional political dynamics in the past and its relevance in the current context of Indonesian foreign policy.

Abstract

This article reviews the contribution of feminist theory to the understanding of individual identity and subjectivity. Feminist theory highlights that a person's identity and subjective experiences are not neutral or isolated, but are deeply influenced by social and gender position in society. This approach broadens our view of subjectivity by recognizing the diversity of individual experiences based on factors such as gender, social class, race, and sexuality. This article also examines feminist criticism of universalism in identity theory, as well as how feminism invites to see individuals as complex subjects within existing power dynamics and social structures.

Abstract

This research examines and analyses the repositioning of zakat to reduce taxable income by paying zakat to increase public awareness of paying zakat. Zakat and taxes for Muslims are a double burden that must be met. To minimize these two obligations, a policy was created where the zakat that has been paid can reduce Taxable Income (PKP). The approach method in this research is sociological juridical, the data used is primary data and secondary data, the data collection technique is field study and literature study, while the data analysis technique uses qualitative analysis. The results of the research show that the regulation of reducing taxable income by paying zakat as an effort to increase public awareness of paying zakat is that zakat that has been produced through zakat institutions authorized by the government can be used as a deduction from taxable income (PKP) so that the tax that must be paid is reduced. The repositioning of reducing taxable income by paying zakat to increase public awareness is feasible considering the low level of public attention to paying zakat. People who initially objected to the double burden, namely obligations in the form of taxes and zakat, can carry out their responsibilities to pay taxes and zakat in tandem.

Abstract

The Israeli-Palestinian conflict has a long history spanning several decades and encompasses intricate political and legal dimensions. This battle not only had repercussions for both parties involved but also garnered international scrutiny and emerged as a significant matter in global diplomacy. This article seeks to examine the political and legal dimensions of the conflict, namely Israel's diplomatic acts that contravene international legal standards, as well as the suggested and implemented attempts for resolving the conflict. This study employs qualitative research methodologies with a focus on reviewing existing literature. The literature review includes the examination of international legal documents, UN resolutions, and peace accords, as well as articles and books that analyze the Israeli-Palestinian issue from a political and legal standpoint. The collected data is evaluated to discern patterns of lawlessness exhibited by Israel and assess the efficacy of different conflict resolution strategies. The research findings indicate that Israeli diplomatic acts frequently contravene the tenets of international law, such as engaging in unlawful occupation and establishing colonies in Palestinian lands. Despite the implementation of multiple resolutions and diplomatic initiatives aimed at resolving the issue, the outcomes have been restricted and frequently hindered by political motivations and a mutual unwillingness to make concessions. To establish durable peace, it is necessary to adopt a more comprehensive approach and include the international community in addressing the Israeli-Palestinian problem.
