Abstract

Teaching and learning vocabulary is an integral part of foreign language learning since it is the basic sub-skill for someone who wants to learn a foreign language. Thus, it is essential to teach English vocabulary at an early age since students still in the scope of their golden age, and they could learn everything easily. In this case, the teachers' teaching strategy seems essential to be concerned. Moreover, this descriptive qualitative study as a case study is designed to explore the Qur'an Learning Center teachers' perspective on the strategy used to teach vocabulary to young learners. The data were gathered through a semi-structured interview with two English Teachers at the Qur'an Learning Center, one of the elementary schools in Jakarta Selatan. The result of this study revealed that teachers believe that teaching strategy is essential for teaching vocabulary to young learners. Thus, the teachers have various strategies that can be applied for teaching vocabulary to young learners, for example, using games, sing a song, and others. Also, the teachers used interesting media like video, a real thing, pictures, and others. Those strategies are effective in engaging students to learn new vocabulary in English. This study is expected to give reference and knowledge for the English teacher who teaches young learners so they could implement some suitable ways with their real class.

Abstract

This study aims 1) to find out the form of the implementation of extension assistance to the Muaro Danau farmer groups in Ateh, Solok Regency. 2) To find out the obstacles in the implementation of extension assistance to the Muaro Danau farmer group at the Solok Regency. 3) To find out the relationship between extension assistance and the productivity of the Muaro Danau farming business in Ateh, Solok Regency. This research was conducted in Jorong Usak Nagari Alahan Panjang, Lembah Gumanti District. The research method was carried out through correlational quantitative research using a questionnaire. The research informants were the Solok District Agriculture Office, extension assistants, and Farmer Groups. Data collection techniques in this study used a questionnaire. The data analysis technique uses the Spearman Rho formula. The results showed that the relationship between extension assistance and productivity in the Muaro Danau Above Farmer Group in Solok Regency was carried out using various methods. However, in its implementation there are still several obstacles, especially the problem of time and attendance of participants. Keywords: Extension Extension Assistance, Productivity, Farmer Groups

Abstract

Self-assessment is one of alternative ways to evaluate students’ speaking talent in English. Through this evaluation, students are allowed to discover, know, and develop their speaking skill. Nonetheless, this sort of project was probably not common in Indonesia. Thus, this study was aimed to know students’ perception of using self-assessment for assessing their oral performance at Link and Match vocational high school. The information of this study was gathered by means of questionnaire which consists of 5 questions about the use of self-assessment. In this qualitative study, the data had been analyzed descriptively. There have been 30 vocational high school students who stand in Multimedia Major as the participant of this study. The results of this study indicated that most of the students thought that self-assessment very helpful for them because it allowed them to know their functionality and develop it to achieve the course goal specifically the speaking course objective. However, some students though that self-assessment was considerably useful since the teacher not often use this assignment and the students not take pleasure in whereas attempting to assess themselves. Self-assessment is very useful in exploring and assessing students speaking skill.

Abstract

Kemajuan internet di Era saat ini telah menjadi kebutuhan yang menarik di setiap instansi dalam mempromosikan jasa dan barang, termasuk berbagai informasi sebuah desa. Perkembangan zaman yang sangat cepat, membuat kita harus cepat tangkap dan cepat berinovasi dalam merespon perubahan dan kemajuan yang terjadi di sekitar kita. Desa Sepotong pernah memiliki website desa akan tetapi tidak dapat dijalankan Kembali. Oleh karena itu Tim KKN Kelompok 60 Universitas Muhammadiyah Riau membuat program pendampingan pemanfaatan teknologi berbasis website desa. Tujuan dari kegiatan ini yaitu untuk memperkenalkan website desa kepada perangkat Desa Sepotong. Tujuan jangka Panjang dari kegiatan ini adalah agar system informasi desa berbasis website dapat meningkatkan pelayanan dan transparansi kepada Masyarakat. Perangkat desa dan masyarakat desa dilatih dalam membuat konten untuk mengisi website desa. Program mahasiswa KKN kelompok 60 Universitas Muhammadiyah Riau telah menyelesaikan website desa dengan Alamat https://kkndesasepotong.blogspot.com/?m=1.
