Abstract

The biodiversity park in the Cirata Reservoir MTR area is a part of Mount Cantayan, is located in Purwakarta Regency. The elevation of area is 140 to 280 meters above sea level with total area 11.2 hectares. The research aims to identify plant species and their diversity and provide recommendations for species enrichment in biodiversity parks. The data collection method used purposive sampling. Vegetation analysis is carried out using Nested Sampling. Vegetation data analysis includes the Important Value Index (IVI) and species diversity index (H’). The research results found 23 families consisting of 59 species including seedlings, saplings, poles and trees. Diversity index of Shanon-Wiener (H’) in for seedlings, saplings, poles and trees was 2.72; 3.34; 3.40 and 4.04. This diversity index is included in the high category. In the plant growth phase at seedling level, the highest IVI was for the kidahu (Dracontomelon dao) species at 82.95%. At the highest IVI sapling level, robusta coffee (Caffea canaephora) was 58.6%. At the pole level, the highest IVI was for mahogany (Swietenia mahogany) 300%, and at tree level, the highest IVI was obtained for mahogany (Swietenia mahogany) 174.7%. The recommendation species for enrichment planting in biodiversity park are 26 species. The species combination of Pingku (Dysoxylum densiflorum) (Blume) Miq., Tangkele (Kleinhovia hospita), Kosambi (Scleichera oleosa), Loa (Ficus variegata) and Nangsi (Villebrunea rubescens) has the potential to become the dominating plant species in the future.

Abstract

Infeksi dapat terjadi di berbagai tempat dan sering kali dikaitkan dengan rumah sakit. Infeksi nosokomial disebabkan oleh mikroorganisme, termasuk bakteri, yang berasal dari lingkungan rumah sakit. Salah satu jenis infeksi yang umum di fasilitas kesehatan adalah infeksi saluran kemih (ISK), dan beberapa kasus ISK disebabkan oleh penggunaan kateter. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi bakteri gram-positif dalam urine pasien yang menggunakan kateter di RSUD Dr. H. Chasan Boesoirie Ternate. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain observasional deskriptif dengan pendekatan cross-sectional, dan metode total sampling untuk mengumpulkan 53 sampel. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa 6,0% dari sampel (5 sampel) mengandung bakteri gram-positif, dengan empat spesies bakteri yang diidentifikasi, di mana yang paling umum adalah Staphylococcus sp. (37,5%). Sebagian besar pengguna kateter adalah perempuan (58,5%), dengan kelompok usia terbesar antara 17-35 tahun dan 56-65 tahun (37,7%), dan penggunaan kateter umumnya berlangsung kurang dari 72 jam (90,4%). Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa bakteri gram-positif ditemukan dalam urine pasien yang menggunakan kateter. Kata Kunci: Bakteri Gram Positif, Kateter Urine, Ternate

Abstract

Inflammation is a defence reaction of the body to eliminate factors that can damage and then rebuild the body's homeostasis. Synthetic anti-inflammatory drugs are known to cause many side effects. Therefore, the research for new drugs from nature is carried out, generally sourced from natural ingredients. One of the natural ingredients that has potential as an anti-inflammatory is nutmeg flesh (Myristica fragrans Houtt.). This study aimed to determine the anti-inflammatory activity of nutmeg flesh ethanol extract (EDBP) in carrageenan-induced paw edema models in Wistar albino rats. This study is an experimental study using 30 Wistar albino rats that were randomly divided into six treatment groups which included a negative control group (Sodium CMC), a positive control group (diclofenac sodium 0.9mg/200gBW of rats), and three levels of ethanol extract of nutmeg flesh: 2.5mg/200gBW, 5mg/200gBW and 7.5mg/200gBW administered orally. One hour after the treatment, the rats were injected with 0.1 ml Carrageenan 1% sub plantar. The edema volume was measured with a plethysmometer every 30 minutes for 3 hours. Anti-inflammatory activity was measured by comparing the percentage of inflammatory protection. The data were then analysed using one-way ANOVA to compare the anti-inflammatory activity between the treatment and the control groups. The results showed that EDBP 2.5mg, 5mg, and 7.5mg gave significantly different effects compared to the control group (p<0.05), where EDBP 7.5 mg showed the highest anti-inflammatory activity.

Abstract

Background: The langsat plant is a traditional plant that has long been used as an alternative to treat various health problems. Langsat bark apparently has extraordinary benefits and is closely related to its ability to fight free radicals. The bad effects caused by free radicals on the body can be prevented by using a substance called an antioxidant. The benefits of antioxidants for the body include protecting body cells from damage caused by free radicals. Langsat bark has extraordinary benefits, one of which is that it contains compounds that are antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, anti-diabetic and anti-cancer. Where langsat bark is known to contain several secondary metabolites, namely alkaloids, flavonoids, saponins, tannins and triterpenoids. Objective: This study aims to determine the antioxidant activity of langsat (Lansium domesticum) bark extract. Method: Determination of antioxidant activity using the DPPH (2,2-diphenyl-1-picrihidrazyl) method. Results: The antioxidant value of vitamin C and langsat bark extract are included in the very strong antioxidant category because both have IC50 values 50 ppm. Where the IC50 value 50 ppm is classified as a very strong antioxidant. In testing vitamin C, an average IC50 value of 6,378 μg/mL was obtained, while for langsat bark extract an average IC50 value was 10,654 μg/mL.Conclusion: Langsat bark extract has an IC50 value of 10,654 μg/mL so it is categorized as a very strong antioxidant.

Abstract

Penyakit menular yang disebabkan oleh parasit kurang mendapat perhatian masyarakat karena umumnya tidak mengancam jiwa sehingga masyarakat cenderung abai sehingga mulai menyadari ketika penyakit tersebut sudah memasuki fase yang lebih berat. Toksoplasmosis merupakan penyakit zoonosis, yaitu penyakit yang berasal dari hewan dan dapat menular ke manusia dengan sumber penyebab parasit Toxoplasma gondii. Penyakit ini kerap jadi masalah terhadap para wanita karena menjadi salah satu penyebab tidak subur dalam proses reproduksi. Pengabdian ini dilakukan dengan tujuan agar masyarakat dapat mengetahui etiologi/penyebab, siklus hidup, hewan apa saja yang dapat terinfeksi, bagaimana penularan dan bahaya Toxoplasma pada manusia serta langkah-langkah pencegahan terhadap Toxoplasmosis. Proses pelaksanaan kegiantan dalam bentuk penyuluhan langsung kepada masyarakat. Dari kegiatan yang telah dilaksanakan masyarakat sudah dapat memahami bagaimana melakukan pencegahan secara dini terhadap adanya dampak dari toxoplakmosis terutama terhadap sumber penularannya.
