Abstract

This paper aims to analyze the effectiveness of the guided inquiry approach in enhancing students’ understanding of early bipedalism evidence in basal hominins, a topic that requires strong analytical skills in interpreting paleoanthropological data. The study is conducted through a qualitative approach using a literature review method that examines scientific publications, empirical reports, and theoretical discussions related to the implementation of inquiry in biological anthropology education. The analysis focuses on patterns of inquiry syntax application, the use of fossil data representations, and their contribution to the development of students’ scientific process skills. The synthesized findings indicate that guided inquiry improves students’ understanding of early bipedal traits while strengthening their abilities in observation, question formulation, data classification, and evidence-based conclusion drawing. The literature also notes increased learning motivation and scientific attitudes when inquiry is implemented in a structured manner, even without direct laboratory-based fossil analysis. This paper concludes that guided inquiry is an effective pedagogical strategy for developing scientific literacy and enhancing students’ interpretative abilities regarding human evolutionary evidence.

Abstract

Penelitian ini membahas peran variasi bahasa dalam membentuk stratifikasi sosial dan mobilitas sosial di Indonesia, dengan menyoroti dampak globalisasi, urbanisasi, dan teknologi digital. Bahasa Inggris menjadi simbol status sosial yang membuka akses global, sedangkan bahasa daerah terpinggirkan, mencerminkan ketimpangan sosial. Diskriminasi linguistik terhadap aksen lokal memperkuat hambatan mobilitas sosial vertikal, membatasi peluang bagi kelompok tertentu. Pendekatan Naratif Literature Review digunakan untuk menganalisis hubungan antara penguasaan bahasa, stratifikasi sosial, dan mobilitas sosial, berlandaskan Hipotesis Relativitas Linguistik. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa bahasa tidak hanya alat komunikasi, tetapi juga kerangka kognitif yang memengaruhi akses individu terhadap sumber daya sosial dan ekonomi. Penelitian ini merekomendasikan kebijakan bahasa yang inklusif, pelestarian bahasa daerah, mengubah stereotip negatif, dan mengurangi diskriminasi linguistik. Dengan pendekatan ini, temuan diharapkan mendorong pengurangan diskriminasi linguistik dan ketimpangan sosial. Dalam konteks antropologi sosial, temuan ini menggambarkan bagaimana struktur sosial terhubung dengan praktik bahasa, sementara dalam antropologi linguistik, penelitian ini mempertegas peran bahasa sebagai penentu identitas dan kekuasaan. Dengan demikian, studi ini menawarkan wawasan untuk menciptakan masyarakat yang lebih adil secara linguistik dan budaya.

Abstract

Abstract. This study aims to determine the influence of child labor on the school dropout rate among the Kajang Ammatoa tribe and to analyze the extent to which socio-cultural, economic, and educational access factors moderate the relationship between child labor and school dropout rates. This research employs a quantitative approach with an associative research design. The study population consists of 50 individuals divided into five categories: school dropouts, working children who are still in school, parents, traditional leaders, and teachers or school representatives. The sample was determined using a purposive sampling technique, resulting in 44 respondents. Data were collected through questionnaires and documentation, and analyzed using simple linear regression, moderated regression analysis (MRA), t-test (partial), and f-test (simultaneous) with the assistance of SPSS version 26. The results show that, partially, child labor has a significant effect on school dropout rates among the Kajang Ammatoa community. However, simultaneously, the combined influence of child labor with socio-cultural, economic, and educational access factors is not significant in increasing school dropout rates.   Keywords : Child Labor, School Dropout, Socio-Cultural Factors, Economy, Educational Access.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the application of Pappasang ri Kajang in the family life of the indigenous community in the Lalang Embayya Settlement, Tana Toa Village, Bulukumba Regency in maintaining environmental sustainability. Pappasang is a traditional mandate that is passed down from generation to generation and serves as a moral guideline for behavior, including in environmental management. A qualitative approach was used in this study with data collection techniques through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and documentation. The results show that Pappasang such as kamase-masea (simple living), respect for forests, prohibition of destroying nature, and maintaining the purity of water, are instilled in families as ecological education based on local wisdom. This is not only a social norm, but also an integral part of the spirituality and cultural identity of the Kajang community. Thus, the family becomes the main actor in maintaining environmental sustainability through the inheritance of traditional values orally and practically. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis penerapan Pappasang ri Kajang dalam kehidupan keluarga masyarakat adat di Pemukiman Lalang Embayya, Desa Tana Toa, Kabupaten Bulukumba dalam menjaga kelestarian lingkungan. Pappasang merupakan amanah adat yang diwariskan secara turun-temurun dan menjadi pedoman moral dalam berperilaku, termasuk dalam pengelolaan lingkungan. Pendekatan kualitatif digunakan dalam penelitian ini dengan teknik pengumpulan data melalui wawancara mendalam, observasi partisipatif, dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Pappasang seperti kamase-masea (hidup sederhana), penghormatan terhadap hutan, larangan merusak alam, serta menjaga kesucian air, ditanamkan dalam keluarga sebagai pendidikan ekologis berbasis kearifan lokal. Tersebut tidak hanya dijadikan norma sosial, namun menjadi bagian integral dari spiritualitas dan identitas budaya masyarakat Kajang. Dengan demikian, keluarga menjadi aktor utama dalam menjaga keberlanjutan lingkungan melalui pewarisan nilai adat secara lisan dan praksis.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the process of instilling mappatabe' cultural values in the daily lives of adolescents at the Imam Bukhari Islamic Boarding School in Makassar. This study is a descriptive study using qualitative data. To achieve this objective, the researcher used data collection techniques through observation, interviews, documents, and documentation. The data obtained was then analyzed and interpreted based on relevant theories and research results. The results showed that the process of instilling mappatabe' values at the Imam Bukhari Islamic Boarding School in Makassar took place through habits and rules applied in the daily lives of the students. Students were trained to always be polite, greet others, speak softly, and ask for permission by saying tabe'. The Islamic boarding school rules reinforce these habits by emphasizing manners and imposing sanctions on students who commit violations, thereby shaping the Islamic character of students in their daily lives and creating civilized and cultured young people. ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui proses penanaman nilai budaya mappatabe’ berlangsung dalam kehidupan sehari-hari pada generasi usia remaja di Pondok Pesantren Imam Bukhari Makassar. Penelitian ini merupakan jenis penelitian deskriptif dengan menggunakan data kualitatif. Untuk mencapai tujuan itu maka peneliti menggunakan teknik pengumpulan data melalui observasi, wawancara, dokumen dan dokumentasi. Data yang telah diperoleh kemudian dianalisis dan diinterpretasi berdasarkan teori dan hasil penelitian yang relevan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa proses penanaman nilai mappatabe’ di Pondok Pesantren Imam Bukhari Makassar berlangsung melalui pembiasaan dan aturan yang diterapkan dalam kehidupan sehari-hari santri. Santri dilatih untuk senantiasa bersikap sopan santun, memberi salam, berbicara lembut, serta meminta izin dengan ucapan tabe’. Aturan Pondok Pesantren menguatkan pembiasaan tersebut dengan menegaskan tata krama dan memberikan sanksi bagi santri yang melakukan pelanggaran, sehingga membentuk karakter Islami santri dalam kehidupan sehari-hari dan mewujudkan remaja yang beradab dan berbudaya.
