The terminal can drive the transportation system because it is an infrastructure that can increase the mobility of vehicles and users. At the Bandar Kajum terminal in the City of Tebing Tinggi, it is necessary to maximize the function of the terminal both in terms of facilities and building mass that is able to combine strength, usability and beauty so as to produce balance. To produce such a large building mass, hybrid architecture was chosen as an approach in designing the Bandar Kajum terminal because hybrid architecture is a combination of different planning and design elements in an environment. The research method used in this study is an approach with a descriptive method that aims to identify the application of a hybrid to the design which is carried out through eclectic stages, modifications and merging as a way to combine building programs, this allows the functions of one another to be interrelated. support and interact with each other in the same building mass and elevate the locality of the Bandar Kajum terminal.

Abstract

Indonesia is one of the countries that will enter the era of demographic bonus. The demographic bonus is that the productive age population's growth is more significant than the structure of the unproductive age population. Meanwhile, Indonesia is still experiencing difficulties in one of the health problems often experienced by adolescents, namely mental health. Medan is the capital city of North Sumatra Province, which has the 8th largest depression sufferer. A design approach that can answer this question is biophilic design. Biophilic design is a design approach based on biophilia, which is intended to create a space that can improve the well-being of human life physically and mentally by approaching the positive relationship between humans and nature. The Mental Health Center design method uses qualitative research methods, which will go through several processes that aim to identify the biophilic design and compare it to the interior design facility standards.

Abstract

The development of Medan City is challenged by unplanned growth that triggers the phenomenon of urban sprawl, especially in the commercial area corridor of Jalan Pattimura. The change of residential functions into commercial areas triggers various problems such as congestion, decreased quality of the visual environment, crowding, and degradation of the vitality of the area. This study aims to formulate a humanist pedestrian arrangement model in the corridor with a smart growth approach and community participation as a local force (genius loci). This research prioritizes the concept of linkage, both visually, structurally, and collectively, in redesigning pedestrian space. By promoting local wisdom as the basis for revitalization, the results of this study are expected to guide public policy based on community development in the management of sustainable commercial areas in Medan City.
