Abstract

This study was motivated by the low collaboration skills of students, which were reflected in the lack of active participation in discussions, lack of responsibility in group assignments, and the tendency to discuss outside the learning topic. This study aims to analyze the impact of the implementation of the Project-Based Learning (PjBL) model on the collaboration skills of class VII students at SMP Negeri 7 Kotabumi. The study used a quasi-experimental method with a Nonequivalent Control Group Design. The research sample consisted of class VIIA as the experimental group and VIID as the control group, each with 35 students. Data were collected through questionnaires and authentic assessment observations. Data analysis was carried out using parametric statistical tests. The results of the study indicate that the Project-Based Learning (PjBL) model has a significant impact on students' collaboration skills. Hypothesis testing at a significance level of 0.05 produces a tcount value = 2.31> ttable = 1.995, so the null hypothesis is rejected. This indicates that the implementation of Project-Based Learning (PjBL) has a positive impact on collaboration skills. Conclusion, the Project-Based Learning (PjBL) model has a positive impact on students' collaboration skills and can be an alternative innovative learning to face the challenges of 21st century education.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of applying the Learning Cycle 5E model assisted by Macromedia Flash media on the understanding of quadrilateral concepts by seventh-grade students at SMP Islam Alfalah Abung Tinggi. This research uses a quasi-experimental design with the Nonequivalent Control Group Design method. The sample consists of two classes, with the experimental class taught using the Learning Cycle 5E model assisted by Macromedia Flash, and the control class taught using traditional learning models with PowerPoint. Data were collected using a validated descriptive test and analyzed using t-test to examine the differences between pretest and posttest scores. The analysis results show a significant effect of the Learning Cycle 5E model assisted by Macromedia Flash on improving students' concept understanding, with a t-value = 2.863 > t-table = 1.671, indicating that the alternative hypothesis is accepted, and the null hypothesis is rejected. This finding contributes to the development of mathematics education, specifically in enhancing the understanding of quadrilateral concepts through more interactive and engaging teaching methods.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara kemandirian belajar dengan kemampuan penalaran matematis pada siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 10 Kotabumi. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan yaitu kuantitatif dengan metode korelasional. Populasi penelitian yaitu semua siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 10 Kotabumi Tahun Ajaran 2025/2026 yang berjumlah 101 siswa, sedangkan sampel yang diambil sebanyak 81 siswa melalui teknik proportional random sampling. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan meliputi angket kemandirian belajar dan tes kemampuan penalaran matematis dalam materi Teorema Pythagoras. Kedua instrumen itu telah diuji validitas dan reliabilitas sebelum diterapkan. Analisis data dimulai dengan uji normalitas menggunakan uji liliefors. Hasilnya data kemandirian belajar berdistribusi normal, sedangkan data kemampuan penalaran matematis tidak berdistribusi normal, sehingga analisis hubungan dilakukan dengan uji korelasi Rank Spearman. Temuan penelitian mengindikasikan bahwa nilai koefisien korelasi antara kemandirian belajar dan kemampuan penalaran matematis adalah 0,286 sedangkan nilai adalah 0,219 dengan tingkat signifikansi 5%. Hasil ini menyatakan adanya hubungan positif antara kemandirian belajar dan kemampuan penalaran matematis siswa, meskipun dengan intensitas yang cukup rendah. Ditemukan bahwa semakin tinggi kemandirian belajar siswa, maka kemungkinan pengembangan kemampuan penalaran matematis siswa pun semakin besar. Karena itu, penting agar terus mengembangkan kemandirian belajar sebagai strategi untuk mendukung peningkatan kemampuan penalaran matematis siswa dalam proses pembelajaran matematika.
