Abstract

The objective of study is investigated correlation between adjective mastery and students’ writing descriptive text of the tenth grade students of SMA Swasta Persiapan Stabat. The study is a correlation research. It is aimed at finding out whether there is any significant correlation between the adjective mastery and students’ ability in writing descriptive text. The population is 244 and the sample is 44 which took by lottery technique.  The data analysis used Product Moment formula. It can be concluded that there is a significant correlation between the adjective mastery and writing descriptive text ability of the 2017/2018 tenth year students of SMA Swasta Persiapan Stabat. This is proved from the analysis that the coefficient correlation between the students’ adjective mastery and writing descriptive text ability is 0.78. Compared with the degree of correlation, it is categorized as a strong and significant correlation. Therefore, the hypothesis of the study is accepted.

Abstract

This study aimed to find out whether using survey, question, predict, read, respond and summarize (SQP2RS) effect on students’ reading comprehension of the tenth-grade students of SMK Swasta Abdi Negara Binjai at academic year 2019/2020. This Research used experimental research that involved into two groups: experimental group and control group. The experimental and control group are consisting of tenth grade students of SMK Swasta Abdi Negara Binjai. An experimental group received a new treatment that is SQP2RS while control group received a usual treatment. The population of this research is 133 students that consist of the 5 major and the sample is 48 students which consist of 25 students for experiment class and 23 students for control class. The writer used multiple choice tests as the instrument of collecting data. The data was analyzed by using t-test formula. Based on the data analysis, it was found that the value of t-observed (t0) was higher than the value of t-table (4.099 > 1.990; df = 78). It means that the hypothesis alternative (Ha) is accepted which shows that SQP2RS strategy significantly affects the students’ reading comprehension at SMK swasta abdi negara binjai at academic year 2019/2020.

Abstract

The objective of this study is to find out The Effect of Using Question Answer Relationship (QAR) Strategy on Students’ Reading Comprehension of Narrative Text at Eleventh Grade of SMA Swasta PABAKU Stabat. This study is an experimental research with the population is all students of class XI at SMA Swasta PABAKU Stabat as many as 60 students from 2 classes, as control class is XI-IPA 1 and the experimental class is XI-IPA 2. The instrument of this research is using pre-test and post-test with multiple choice question consist of 20 questions. After the calculation of the data knowing the mean obtained by the respondents in the control class is 67,5 and the mean of data in experimental class is 86,83. It can be concluded that students’ reading comprehension achievement in the experimental class is good. Based on the calculation of validity test, it can be concluded that the data has valid. Then based on the calculation of reliability of test, found that the data has reliable. Based on the calculation of normality, it can be concluded that the distribution of data is normal. After testing the data hypothesis criteria that have been obtained in the control class and the experimental class, it has been found that the hypothesis is received, where tcount > ttable = 4,4 > 1,67155. So it can be concluded that Question Answer Relationship (QAR) Strategy affected on Students’ Reading Comprehension of Narrative Text at Eleventh Grade of SMA Swasta PABAKU Stabat.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apakah pembelajaran matematika secara daring di masa pandemi covid-19 terhadap kemampuan berpikir kreatif pada siswa sekolah dasar efektif di tinjau dari ketuntasan belajar siswa, kemampuan guru mengelola pembelajaran, dan respon siswa. Jenis penelitian ini adalah deskriptif kuantitatif. Populasi dalam penelitian adalah seluruh siswa kelas V SDN 106801 Bulu Cina. Teknik sampel yang digunakan adalah sampling jenuh. Sampel dalam penelitian ini yaitu seluruh kelas V yang berjumlah 19 siswa. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan menggunakan instrument penelitian yang berupa tes, observasi dan angket. Hasil penelitian yang ditinjau dari ketuntasan hasil belajar pada tes awal diperoleh rata-rata hasil belajar siswa sebesar 68,68% dengan 9 siswa yang tuntas dan 10 siswa yang tidak tuntas serta ketuntasan klasikal sebesar 47, 36% dan berada pada kategori kurang efektif, sedangkan pada tes akhir diperoleh rata-rata 92,63% dengan 19 siswa yang tuntas serta ketuntasan klasikal sebesar 100% dan berada pada kategori efektif. Ditinjau dari kemampuan guru dalam mengelola pembelajaran memperoleh presentase sebesar 92% dan berada pada kategori efektif. Ditinjau dari respon siswa memperoleh presentase sebesar 85,28% dan berada pada kategori efektif.

Abstract

The objective of this study is to find out The Effect of Small Group Discussion Method on Students’ Ability in Reading Comprehension for the Eleventh Grade Students of SMA Tamansiswa Binjai. This study is Quasi experimental research. This study used a system of controlled class and experimental class, which acts as a controlled class benchmark basic ability student on reading comprehension without application of the method, while the experimental class was given Small Group Discussion Method. After knowing the mean obtained by the respondents in the controlled class of 49,71, it can be concluded that students' reading comprehension achievement is still low. In this study, students in the experimental class received treatment with the application of Small Group Discussion Method and it has been known that the mean data in the experimental class is 85.35, it can be concluded that students' reading cohesion achievement in the experimental class is good. Based on the calculation of validity test, it can conclude that the data has valid. Then based on the calculation of reliability of test, found that the data has reliable. After testing the homogeneity criteria of the data obtained in the controlled class and the experimental class, it has been found that the data obtained are homogeneous. After testing the data hypothesis criteria that have been obtained in the controlled class and experimental class, it has been found that the hypothesis is received, where tcount > ttable = 19.07 > 1.668, so it can be concluded that Small Group Discussion effects on Students’ Reading Comprehension Achievement of the Eleventh Grade Students of SMA Tamansiswa Binjai.

Abstract

The study deals with an experimental research design which seeks for the effect of real media on students’ ability in writing procedure text. The problems that had been identified by the writer are including many of junior high school students have difficulties in understanding the genres of text, they still get lack of vocabularies which makes the students difficult to compose any kinds of text, the procedural texts seem hard for students to comprehend without any practical media, the written language is more complicated than spoken one, and teacher does not have very effective strategy to overcome the students’ inability in learning procedural text. 70 students at the eighth year students at SMP Swasta Dewantara Putra Sebertung in academic year of 2018/2019 are taken as the subject of the study. Multiple choices are used to obtain the data on the variable. The final data then is analyzed by using technique of t-test analysis. The result shows that coefficient of tcounted (3.37) was greater than the ttable coefficient (1.66757). This means that there is the effect of real media on students’ ability in writing procedure text of the 2018/2019 eighth year students of SMP Swasta Dewantara Putra Sebertung. Therefore, the hypothesis of the study is accepted.

Abstract

Pengabdian Masyarakat Tahun 2021 dilakukan di Desa Karang Gading, Kecamatan Secanggang, Kabupaten Langkat. Pada program pengabdian masyarakat tersebut kami melaksanakan banyak program kerja, salah satunya yaitu pendampingan belajar kepada anak-anak di Dusun Pasar II Desa Karang Gading. Lembaga bimbingan belajar di luar sekolah menjadi alternatif para siswa untuk mendapatkan materi yang belum diajarkan di sekolah (Dwi, 2013). Keputusan untuk mengikutsertakan anak di lembaga kursus atau bimbingan belajar merupakan keputusan yang tepat bagi anak-anak. Di sana mereka bisa memperoleh ilmu yang tidak sempat diajarkan oleh guru di sekolah. Akan tetapi, tidak semua anak bisa mengikuti les ataupun bimbingan belajar. Hal tersebut terjadi di lingkungan tempat tinggal anak di Dusun Pasar II Desa Karang Gading, Kecamatan Secanggang yang jauh dari pusat perkotaan dan karena mahalnya biaya bimbingan belajar. Dengan melihat kendala tersebut, membuat para Dosen dan mahasiswa STKIP BUDIDAYA BINJAI merasa terpanggil untuk melakukan pengabdian di daerah tersebut. Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini sebagai sarana penyampaian kebermanfaatan ilmu dan rasa kepedulian para dosen dan mahasiswa terhadap masyarakat dibidang pendidikan dalam bentuk pendampingan melalui kegiatan bimbingan belajar di rumah atupun di posko. Tujuan dari kegiatan ini untuk meningkatkan prestasi akademik dan motivasi belajar siswa

Abstract

This study aims to determine (1) learning outcomes in mathematics, (2) the effect of WhatsApp media on students' mathematics learning outcomes. This research is quasi-experimental. The population in this study were students of class VII SMP, totaling 36 students. In this study, the sample used was total sampling in which all populations were sampled in this study. The design used in this study was the pre-test post-test control group design. The research instrument was a learning outcome test and a learning difficulty questionnaire. To test the hypothesis using a paired sample t-test. The results of this study indicate that the post-test mean score that has been tested in the experimental class is 83.50. This means that the learning outcomes in the experimental class are seen by using the paired sample t-test of 0.006 <0.05, which means that there is a significant effect between the average value before treatment (pre-test) and the average value after treatment (post-test).

Abstract

This study focuses on an experimental study design to investigate the effect of reading aloud strategy on students' comprehension when reading narrative texts. Reading aloud is an activity to read something important in reading, such as helping students read language items better and helping them practice word stress, intonation, and pronunciation. 60 SMA Swasta Melati Binjai tenth graders in the 2022/2023 school year were selected as the subjects of the study. Besides, the read test tool is analyzed as valid by looking at the t-counted coefficient (4.635) greater than the t-table factor (1.70113) and it is also analyzed as reliable by looking at the confidence factor (0.763) higher than the panel coefficient (0.3061); this is also shown by t-test analysis that the coefficient is high and significant by considering that the countable coefficient (3.219) is larger than the testable coefficient (1.70113). This means that there is an effect of reading aloud strategy on a student's ability to understand the text. Therefore, the research hypothesis is accepted.
