Abstract

This article tries to explain that the Qur'an explains a lot about musabaqah, but it is general in nature. Because of his generality, in this case, the writer traces the law and his views through the views of the commentators' scholars. In addition, the author also traces the traditions of the Prophet that explain the recommended reading of the Qur'an with a melodious song and voice. The results of this study prove that musabaqah existed at the time of the Prophet, even the Prophet did. Many scholars believe that the implementation of the Musabaqah Tilawatil Qur?an (MTQ) is permissible, even encouraged. In addition, musabaqoh indirectly has an educational value, namely competitive character education.

Abstract

This article discusses an interesting phenomenon in Gampong Lhok Pawoh, where the community continues to maintain and preserve the tradition of yasinan in the Rabu Abeh ritual despite the shifting or even extinction of many religious traditions in the modern era. This research employed qualitative methods (field research) and adopted Spradley's ethnography approach and the perspective of the living Qur'an. This study aims to describe how the Qur'an comes alive in the yasinan tradition of the Rabu Abeh ritual, which is still upheld by the community of Gampong Lhok Pawoh, as well as the significance of this tradition in their daily lives. The findings reveal that the yasinan tradition in the Rabu Abeh ritual is a tangible manifestation of the living Qur'an among the people of Gampong Lhok Pawoh in Aceh Barat Daya. This tradition is performed every year on the last Wednesday of Safar, as a plea for safety and protection from potential disasters on the day of Rabu Abeh. The community perceives the connection between verse 19 of Surah Al-Qamar/54, which depicts an unfortunate day, and the Rabu Abeh day; hence, they collectively recite Surah Yasin as a prayer and safeguard against potential calamities. The tradition holds strong spiritual and social meanings within the community, serving as an effort to seek salvation from Allah SWT, preserving cultural heritage, fostering social bonds, and cultivating excellent and respectful personalities. Moreover, the tradition reminds the community of the importance of maintaining harmonious relationships with nature while strengthening solidarity and preserving customs and culture

Abstract

This article examines the solutions to the natural environmental damage from the perspective of Tafsir An-Nur by Teungku Muhammad Hasbi ash-Shiddieqy. The study of natural environmental damage by a contemporary Indonesian mufassir in bil-ma’tsur and bir-ra’yi style is essential to understand the local interpretation of Al-Qur’an concerning such damage. Through literature study, this research used a descriptive analysis method to describe the perspectives of Tafsir An-Nur regarding verses on the natural environmental damage and the embedded solutions in al-bī’ah and fasād terms. This article argues that human objectification and greed toward the natural environment are the root of natural environmental damage. Humans’ detachment from the moral-spiritual guidance taught by religion, especially Islam, has led humans to exploitative attitudes toward the natural environment. Tafsir An-Nur offers several solutions to overcome the natural environmental damage, namely interpreting the position of humans as caliphs fairly and wisely, cultivating the qana’ah character, eliminating hypocrisy in behaving, and building mutualistic relationships toward the natural environment. This article shows that efforts to end the damage to the natural environment begin with humans’ attention to moral-spiritual aspects of ecology.

Abstract

Penelitian ini membahas praktik hibah sebagai mekanisme dalam pembagian waris di masyarakat adat Batak Mandailing, Desa Pagaran Baringin, Kecamatan Barumun, Kabupaten Padang Lawas, Sumatera Utara. Masalah penelitian berfokus pada perbedaan hukum dan praktik hibah dibandingkan dengan wasiat, infak, dan pemberian lainnya, serta bagaimana hibah dapat digunakan tanpa menghilangkan nilai ilmu faraidh. Tujuan penelitian adalah menganalisis kedudukan hibah dalam waris, penerapannya kepada salah satu anak, serta perspektif ulama tafsir dan hukum positif terkait hibah. Metode yang digunakan adalah kualitatif dengan Library Research, menggunakan pendekatan tafsir bilma’sur dan tafsir kontekstual untuk menelaah literatur fiqh, tafsir Al-Qur’an, serta regulasi hukum seperti KUHPerdata dan KHI. Penelitian menelaah dokumen dan literatur klasik, serta peraturan hukum kontemporer, untuk memahami korelasi antara prinsip keadilan, fleksibilitas sosial, dan praktik hibah dalam keluarga. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa hibah sah digunakan sebagai mekanisme dalam waris, termasuk pemberian kepada salah satu anak, dengan catatan kesepakatan ahli waris dan prinsip keadilan tetap dijaga. Hibah mencerminkan refleksi hati orang tua, sejalan dengan contoh kasih sayang dalam sejarah nabi dan ajaran Islam. Selain itu, praktik hibah memberikan fleksibilitas bagi orang tua untuk memberikan reward atau bantuan kepada anak tanpa menyalahi hukum waris, meskipun terdapat batasan pada hukum positif yang membatasi hibah pasca kematian pewaris. Penelitian ini menekankan bahwa hibah dapat menjadi alternatif mekanisme waris yang sah, adil, dan fleksibel, serta memberikan kontribusi bagi pengembangan hukum Islam kontemporer dan kebijakan keluarga, sekaligus menjadi referensi bagi studi lanjut mengenai interaksi hukum adat, hukum positif, dan praktik keagamaan.
