Abstract

Abstract: This article is written to explain the dynamics of contemporary Islamic thought and the role of Islamic education as one of its supports. The dynamics of Islamic thought are diverse but have the same character that is  opposite thoughts and thoughts that seek common ground. The opposite thoughts depicting here are Islamic fundamentalism and liberalism. Then the thought that seeks common ground here is called hybrid thought. This article is a literature review by utilizing the findings in the previous study formulated into new findings that have not been discussed in the previous study. This paper concludes that the dynamic of contemporary Islamic thought with its character grows not from the role of Islamic education. Although it cannot be denied that the role of Islamic education in this case is not the only one, because there are other factors such as historical, political, technological, globalization, modernization, social and cultural contexts. Fundamental Islamic thought can be sustained and developed by an ideological-purist Islamic education model (manhaj salafi). Likewise, the form of liberal thinking and development by an academic-scientifically oriented, rational and secular model of education. Hybrid forms of thought that are supported by a moderate-inclusive education model that develop textual-contextual methods, balance nasal sources, reason and intuitive, accommodate old and modern traditions that are still relevant and do not conflict with religious values.الملخص: هذه المقالة تقصد لشرح ديناميات الفكرة الاسلامية المعاصرة و دور التعليم الاسلام الذي أصبح في عداد من دماعته . أن ديناميات الفكرة الاسلامية مختلفة ولكن لديها صبغة يعنى الفكرالذي ينعكس بعضها بعضا، والفكر الذي يسعى النتيجة . والفكر المنعكس الذى شرح هنا هي الأصولية والليبرالية الاسلام . ثم الفكرالذي يبتغي النتائج هنا يسمى بفكر الهجين . هذا المقال يقولب مراجعة الادبيات التى تستخدم النتائج في دراسة السابق ثم وضعت ليكون المكتشف الجديد الذي لم يبحث في دراسة السابق . هذه الكتابة تجمل أن ديناميات الفكرة الاسلامية المعاصرة مع طبيعتها نشأت لا تتخلع من دور التعليم الاسلام . وعلى الرغم ، لاشك أن دور التعليم الاسلام ليست وحدة في هذه الحالة ، لأن هناك عوامل أخرى مثل العوامل التاريخ ، والسياسية ، والتكنولوجي ، والعولمة ، والتحديثة ، وسياق الاجتماعية والثقافية . الفكرة الاسلامية الاصولية  مستمرة و يبنى أو يولد عن شكل التعليم الاسلام العقائدي (المنهج السلفي) . لذلك أيضا شكل من الفكر الليبرالي مستمرة و يولد عن شكل التعليم المنحى في الدرسي العمي ، عقلي ، و زمني . و شكل الفكر الهجين مستمرة عن شكل التعليم الوسطي ضمنا الذي تطورأساليب النصية والسياقية , يتوازن مصدر النص حيلة وبديهية ، تكيف التقليد القديم والحديث كان وثيق و لا يتعارض عن قيمة الدين .Abstrak: Artikel ini bermaksud untuk menjelaskan dinamika pemikiran Islam kontemporer dan peran pendidikan Islam yang menjadi salah satu penopangnya. Dinamika pemikiran Islam itu beragam namun memiliki karakter yang sama yaitu pemikiran yang saling berlawanan dan pemikiran yang mencari titik temu. Pemikiran yang saling berlawanan yang dijelaskan di sini adalah fundamentalismedan liberalisme Islam. Kemudian pemikiran yang mencari titik temu di sinidisebut dengan pemikiran hybrid. Artikel ini merupakan kajian pustaka dengan memanfaatkan temuan-temuan dalam kajian terdahulu lalu dirumuskan menjadi temuan baru yang belum dibahas pada kajian sebelumya.Tulisan ini menyimpulkan bahwa dinamika pemikiran Islam kontemporer dengan karakternya tumbuh berkembang tidak terlepas dari peran pendidikan Islam. Meskipun tidak dipungkiri bahwa peran pendidikan Islam dalam hal ini bukan satu-satunya, karena masih ada faktor lainnya seperti faktor sejarah, politik, teknologi, globalisasi, modernisasi, konteks sosial dan budaya. Pemikiran Islam fundamental dapat ditopang dan dilahirkan oleh model pendidikan Islam idiologis-puris (manhaj salafi). Begitu pula bentuk pemikiran liberal ditopang dan dilahirkan oleh model pendidikan yang berorientasi akademik-ilmiah, rasional dan sekuler. Bentuk pemikiran hybridditopang oleh model pendidikan moderat-inklusif yang mengembangkan metode tekstual-kontekstual, menyeimbangkan sumber nas}, akal dan intuitif, mengakomodasi tradisi lama dan modern yang masih relevan dan tidak bertentangan dengan nilai agama.

Abstract

PurposeThe research aimed to explore KH.R. Asnawi’s thoughts as one of Nahdlatul Ulama founders, on nationalism and patriotism values against colonialism and imperialism in Indonesia. MethodsThis qualitative study applied a historical research design relying on KH. R. Asnawi’s works as the primary data source. The secondary data sources included books and journals discussing KH.R. Asnawi’s thoughts of nationalism and patriotism values. The research also implemented Focus Group Discussion to understand his thoughts comprehensively. The data collected was then analyzed qualitatively using historical and political approaches Results/FindingThe study found that KH. R Asnawi’s thoughts of nationalism was fiqh centric that he was a religious nationalist figure. While the statesmanship values contained in his works included unity, justice, love for the homeland, and divine values. ConclusionThe study concluded that KH. R. Asnawi’s thoughts of nationalism and statesmanship values belongs to the integrism type influenced by theology, fiqh and pesantren education.

Abstract

Birth restrictions in the Al-Qur'an perspective are permanent birth restrictions prohibited in the Al-Qur'an because they are contrary to human nature, namely having offspring. However, in emergency situations, the Qur'an provides relief or allows birth restrictions to maintain maternal health. The discourse around birth control is currently increasingly urgent if it is related to the dense population of the world, especially the Indonesian population. Indonesia's population has now reached 270 million people with a population density of 140 people per square kilometer. If population density is not balanced with the State's ability to control it, it will give rise to problems such as poverty, health, education and crime. Therefore, in an emergency, birth control is one of the preventive options to reduce the rate of population growth. The problem that often arises when discussing the issue of limiting offspring is the quantity and quality of the population. This was triggered by the understanding that children are a gift from Allah and on the Day of Judgment the Messenger of Allah will be proud to see his many people. This understanding provides motivation for people to increase their offspring. However, on the one hand, Allah reminds us not to leave behind a weak generation, fearing that it will burden the family and the country.

Abstract

The concept of naskh and mansukh is very important to understand the development of Islamic law. With the existence of texts, the last verses of the Qur'an that were revealed are considered more valid and replace the previous verses. This study aims to examine the concepts of naskh (cancellation) and mansukh (absolute cancellation) in Muhammad Hasbi Ash-Shiddieqy's Tafsir Al-Qur'anul Majid An-Nur, and identify their implementation in the interpretation of Al-Qur'anic verses. In his commentary, Ash-Shiddieqy identifies verses that are considered as texts and mansukh, and explains the relationship between these verses. The research method used is text analysis with a qualitative approach. The results of the study show that Muhammad Hasbi Ash-Shiddieqy paid considerable attention to the concepts of naskh and mansukh in his interpretations. He described how changes to law or shari'a provisions were carried out through texts and mansukh. Apart from that, Ash-Shiddieqy also gave an explanation of the purpose and wisdom behind the cancellation of these verses. These previous studies have related or intersected the same problem, but in a very different context. This research makes an important contribution in understanding Muhammad Hasbi Ash-Shiddieqy's view of the concept of naskh and mansukh in the interpretation of the Qur'an. These findings can provide better insight into how a contemporary scholar understands and applies the concepts of naskh and mansukh in the interpretation of the Qur'an.

Abstract

Konsep jihad dalam Islam seringkali disalahpahami dan dipahami secara sempit, hanya terbatas pada konflik bersenjata. Padahal, AlQur'an sebagai kitab suci utama dalam Islam memberikan petunjuk yang lebih luas mengenai jihad.  Penelitian ini mengeksplorasi pengaruh ayat Makkiyah dalam penafsiran ayat jihad dalam Al-Qur'an, menawarkan perspektif baru yang mengungkapkan dimensi yang lebih luas dan kontekstual dari konsep jihad. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis bagaimana ayat-ayat Makkiyah dalam Al-Qur'an memberikan landasan yang kokoh untuk pemahaman jihad yang seimbang dan komprehensif. Dengan memanfaatkan metode tafsir bi al-ma'tsur dan bi al-ra'yi serta mempertimbangkan konteks sejarah dan budaya, studi ini melakukan analisis kualitatif terhadap tafsir Al-Qur'an yang relevan. Hasilnya menunjukkan bahwa ayat-ayat Makkiyah memberikan landasan yang kuat untuk memahami jihad sebagai perjuangan moral, spiritual, dan pertahanan diri, bukan sekadar perang fisik semata. Temuan ini tidak hanya berkontribusi pada pengembangan teori tafsir Al-Qur'an, tetapi juga memiliki implikasi praktis dalam pendidikan agama, dialog antara gama, dan kebijakan publik yang berhubungan dengan Islam dan jihad, dengan harapan dapat mempromosikan pemahaman yang lebih baik dan terbuka terhadap Islam di seluruh dunia. Abstract

This Study aims to discuss the tradition of reading five selected surahs in the Kasambu ritual in the Muna community (study living Qur’an in Waimhorock District, Abepura District, Jayapura City). This study uses a qualitative method with a sociological phenomenological approach. Primary data sources come from important documents owned by community institutions, as well as answer from related parties interviewed. While secondary sources come from various scientific references related to the discussion. There is a debate among Muslim scholars about the study of the living Qur’an, namely groups that support and groups that criticize the study of the living Qur’an. The groups that support the living Qur’an are Jalaluddin as-Suyuthi and Badruddin az-Zarkasyi. Meanwhile, groups that criticize the living Qur’an are Fazlur Rahman, Nasr Hamid Abu Zaid, and Farid Esack. In addition, one of the Indonesian figures who also criticized the Qur’an was Mun’im Sirry. The findings of this study indicate that the social and Qur'anic meaning of the tradition of reading the five selected surahs in the Kasambu ritual in the Muna community is a form of community effort or endeavor to gain the pleasure of Allah. Kasambu ritual in the Muna community is a form of community effort or effort to get the pleasure of Allah SWT. This is evidenced by the reading of selected surahs in the Qur'an such as surah al-Fâtiḫah, surah al-Qadr, surah al-Ikḫlâsh, surah al-Falaq and surah an-Nâs. Where from the reading of these suras, people believe and believe that Allah SWT will be pleased with everything they do and Allah SWT will always pour out His mercy and protect and protect them from interference from supernatural beings (syaithan) both from among others. jinn and from among humans, especially to mothers and prospective babies who are in the womb

Abstract

Research on the existence of career women in the Qur'an using Riffat Hasan's gender approach resulted the conclusion that the existence of career women is not determined by gender, but by their potential and quality for great achievements. Basically, the Qur’an does not regulate women's and men's work areas in a standard way. Islam leaves certain areas to be regulated by human reason based on demands that are always developing. There is no prohibition in the Qur'an for women to have a career, on the contrary, it opens up the widest possible opportunities for women and men to work together in realizing benefits in various aspects of life. The Qur'an does not differentiate between work or righteous deeds carried out by men and women. Both are equally appreciated. In fact, Allah SWT stated that whoever does good deeds, both men and women in a state of faith, will get a good and quality life. This research is included in qualitative research and library research. The analytical method used in this research is the thematic method (maudhu'i) and Riffat Hasan's gender approach

Abstract

Penjelasan mengenai Ahl al-Kitâb telah banyak dibahas dalam berbagai literatur keislaman terutama di dalam kitab-kitab tafsir. Namun seiring dengan berjalannya waktu, pemahaman ulama mengenai cakupan Ahl al-Kitâb kitab mulai mengalami perubahan para ulama sepakat bahwa mereka adalah Yahudi dan Nasrani. Namun mereka berbeda dalam hal cakupan makna Ahl al-Kitâb, sebagian mengatakan Ahl al-Kitâb adalah Yahudi dan Nasrani keturunan Bani Israil saja, sementara yang lain mengatakan bahwa Ahl al-Kitâb adalah Yahudi dan Nasrani kapan pun dan di manapun mereka berada. Pembahasan ini akan diteliti menggunakan metode maudhu’i, berupa riset kepustakaan, dengan analisis data deskriptif. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, penulis mendapatkan pengungkapan kata Ahl al-Kitâb dalam al-Qur'an sebanyak 11 bentuk,. Mengenai makna Ahl al-Kitâb, Rasyid Ridha sepakat dengan jumhur ulama, hanya saja pendapatnya tentang cakupan Ahl al-Kitâb lebih luas dari ulama sebelumnya. Dalam Tafsir al-Manar, cakupan Ahl al-Kitâb tidak hanya sebatas Yahudi dan Nasrani, tetapi juga mencakup agama-agama lain seperti Majusi, Shabi'in, penyembah berhala di India, Cina dan siapa saja yang serupa dengan mereka. Menurutnya, semua agama tersebut bisa dimasukkan dalam cakupan ahli kitab karena pada awalnya semua agama menganut tauhid. Sedangkan Quraish Shihab dalam Tafsir al-Misbah memahami makna Ahl al-Kitâb adalah semua penganut agama Yahudi dan nasrani dimanapun, kapanpun dan dari keturunan siapapun. Dia memahami makna seperti itu karena berdasarkan al Quran yang hanya terbatas pada dua golongan saja yaitu Yahudi dan Nasrani

Abstract

This article discusses an interesting phenomenon in Gampong Lhok Pawoh, where the community continues to maintain and preserve the tradition of yasinan in the Rabu Abeh ritual despite the shifting or even extinction of many religious traditions in the modern era. This research employed qualitative methods (field research) and adopted Spradley's ethnography approach and the perspective of the living Qur'an. This study aims to describe how the Qur'an comes alive in the yasinan tradition of the Rabu Abeh ritual, which is still upheld by the community of Gampong Lhok Pawoh, as well as the significance of this tradition in their daily lives. The findings reveal that the yasinan tradition in the Rabu Abeh ritual is a tangible manifestation of the living Qur'an among the people of Gampong Lhok Pawoh in Aceh Barat Daya. This tradition is performed every year on the last Wednesday of Safar, as a plea for safety and protection from potential disasters on the day of Rabu Abeh. The community perceives the connection between verse 19 of Surah Al-Qamar/54, which depicts an unfortunate day, and the Rabu Abeh day; hence, they collectively recite Surah Yasin as a prayer and safeguard against potential calamities. The tradition holds strong spiritual and social meanings within the community, serving as an effort to seek salvation from Allah SWT, preserving cultural heritage, fostering social bonds, and cultivating excellent and respectful personalities. Moreover, the tradition reminds the community of the importance of maintaining harmonious relationships with nature while strengthening solidarity and preserving customs and culture
