Abstract

Early childhood character development is a crucial aspect of their personality growth. This study aims to analyze the role of parents in shaping children's character at RA Tgk Di Panteue, Pidie Jaya Regency. The research employs a qualitative approach with observations, interviews, and questionnaires to collect data from parents of students. The findings indicate that parents play a significant role in character formation through positive role modeling, the application of moral and religious values, and the creation of a safe and loving environment. They teach values such as honesty, responsibility, empathy, and mutual respect through daily activities such as performing religious rituals together, speaking politely, and maintaining cleanliness. Based on questionnaire analysis, the level of parental participation in character development reached 82.9%, demonstrating active involvement in the process. However, several challenges hinder character development, including inconsistency in implementing values at home and school, as well as differences in parenting methods within families. Additionally, social environmental influences pose a challenge in maintaining the values taught. Despite these challenges, parents continue to provide the best guidance to ensure that children grow with strong and confident character. This study emphasizes that active parental involvement is essential in establishing a solid foundation for children's character development from an early age.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the integration of character education into subject lessons at MTsN 1 Pidie Jaya. The study uses a descriptive qualitative method, with data collected through interviews, observations, and documentation. The results show that teachers integrate character values according to the characteristics of their respective subjects. Science teachers instill honesty and teamwork through collaborative projects, Islamic Education (PAI) teachers emphasize tolerance and religious moderation, and Civics (PPKn) teachers promote empathy and adherence to legal norms. Meanwhile, counseling (BK) and physical education teachers foster empathy, discipline, and sportsmanship through practical approaches. This integration process has a positive impact on students' character development. Supporting factors include school policies, teacher commitment, and active participation from parents and the community. However, challenges include limited time allocation, inadequate facilities, and a heavy workload for teachers

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the strengthening of teachers' pedagogical competence at SMP Ulumul Qur'an Pidie Jaya, focusing on the forms of strengthening, its implications for learning, and the supporting and inhibiting factors. The research employs a qualitative approach with a case study method through interviews, observations, and documentation. The findings reveal that pedagogical competence is strengthened through regular class supervision, internal and online training, and participation in learning communities. These enhance teachers' understanding of student characteristics, mastery of learning theories, and the ability to design and implement effective learning tailored to students' needs. As a result, learning becomes more engaging and efficient, contributing to both academic and non-academic achievements, as reflected in improved student performance. The main supporting factors include the principal's support through supervision and training, as well as active teacher involvement in learning communities. However, challenges arise from limited time, facilities, technological resources, and difficulties in adapting teaching methods to the diverse characteristics of students.

Abstract

The growing population drives the construction of high-rise buildings as residential areas, leading to an increased demand for hot water for bathing, consumption, and other purposes. Conventional water heating using fossil energy negatively impacts the environment, making solar water heater (SWH) technology an eco-friendly alternative. However, the efficiency of conventional SWHs with evacuated tube collectors remains limited due to suboptimal solar energy capture. This study aims to enhance water heater efficiency by utilizing concentrated solar power (CSP) technology with a parabolic trough collector (PTC). The PTC focuses solar energy on a square-shaped receiver containing a sensible heat storage medium and a main pipe for heating water. The research was conducted experimentally by measuring water temperature with thermocouples and solar radiation using a pyranometer. The results show that the maximum water temperature achieved was 84°C at a solar radiation intensity of 1.112 W/m², with a maximum system efficiency of 35%. This technology demonstrates potential for improving the efficiency of renewable energy-based water heating systems.

Abstract

Indonesia is one of the world's largest cocoa producers; however, traditional cocoa bean drying methods pose significant challenges, including weather dependency and contamination risks. This study aims to enhance the drying efficiency and product quality by employing an indirect solar dryer integrated with silica gel as a humidity reducer. Experimental research was conducted in the open field area of the Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Samudra, Langsa. The results demonstrate that the use of silica gel effectively stabilizes air temperature and accelerates moisture reduction compared to drying without silica gel. The developed solar drying system reduced the moisture content of cocoa beans by up to 38% within 4 hours, producing a more hygienic final product than manual drying, which achieved only a 21% reduction. This solar dryer technology offers a promising alternative solution for cocoa farmers to improve productivity and product quality sustainably.
