Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of think pair share type of cooperative learning on students' mathematical representation abilities. This research is a quasi-experimental research. The population in this study were all eighth-grade students of SMP Negeri 1 Pangkalan Susu. The samples in this study were 2 classes, namely class VIII-1 which was used as an experimental class and class VIII-2 was used as a control class. The instrument used was a test in the form of a description of the material Relations and Functions. From testing the hypothesis obtained tcount (2.135) > ttable (1.6715) means that Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted. This shows the influence of think pair share type of cooperative learning on students' mathematical representation ability.

Abstract

Understanding concepts is one of the goals of mathematics learning. Understanding mathematical concepts is not just knowing a concept, but being able to re-express the concepts studied in a form that is easier to understand and being able to apply them in problem solving. Students' ability to understand mathematical concepts will be formed systematically if students can construct their mathematical knowledge and connect it to contextual problems. One effort that can be made to improve students’ ability to understand mathematical concepts is to apply the Contextual Teaching and Learning approach. This research aims to determine the effect of the Contextual Teaching and Learning approach on students' ability to understand mathematical concepts. This research is a quasi-experimental research. This research was carried out at SMP Negeri 1 Pangkalan Susu. The sample selection technique used in this research is purposive sampling technique. The population of this study were all class VII students. The samples in this study were 2 classes, namely class VII-4 which was used as the experimental class and class VII-5 which was used as the control class. The results of this research show that there is an influence of the Contextual Teaching and Learning approach on students' ability to understand mathematical concepts.

Abstract

Kemampuan matematika yang sangat penting di dalam pembelajaran salah satunya adalah kemampuan pemecahan masalah.Dengan memiliki kemampuan pemecahan masalah dapat membuat siswa menjadi lebih aktif, berpikir terbuka, serta berorientasi pada solusi.Salah satu upaya yang dapat meningkatkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa merupakan dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran yang sesuai.Penelitian ini bertujuan agar mendeskripsikan perbedaan model pembelajaran Number Head Together (NHT) dan model pembelajaran Jigsaw terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa.Penelitian ini yaitu penelitian kuantitatif dengan jenis kuasi eksperimen.Populasi dalam  penelitian ini seluruh  siswa kelas VII SMP  Negeri  1  Babalan.Sampel  dalam  penelitian  ini  2 kelas  yaitu  kelas VII-1 yang dijadikan  sebagai  kelas  eksperimen dan kelas VII-2  dijadikan  sebagai  kelas kontrol.Jenis instrument  penelitian yaitu  tes  yang  berupa tes uraian pada  materi persamaan linear.Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa  terdapat  perbedaan model pembelajaran Number Head Together (NHT) dan model pembelajaran Jigsaw terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa.Dari hasil perhitungan menggunakan uji t pada taraf signifikansi 5% dan derajat kebebasan (dk) = 58 diperoleh t hitung (2,437) > t tabel (2,0017) artinya Ho ditolak dan Ha diterima.Dimana kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran Number Head Together (NHT) lebih baik dari pada kemampuan pemecahan masalah dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran Jigsaw.

Abstract

Mathematical disposition is an affective ability that is important for students to have because through this ability, students' attitudes in facing problems in mathematics will be resolved properly. One of the efforts that can be done to improve mathematical disposition is by implementing problem-based learning. By providing contextual problems in mathematics learning, it can have an impact on interest, desire and awareness in the form of a strong tendency to think and behave towards mathematics and see the usefulness of mathematics. This research aims to analyze students' mathematical disposition using problem based learning.This type of research is Quasi-experimental research.This research was implemented at SMP Negeri 1 Pangkalan Susu. The population of this research was students of class IX. The sample used was students of class IX-1 as the experimental class and IX-2 as the control class. Based on the results of t-test used in the research, the t-count value was 3,508 and the t-table value for a value of 1.67. This means that the t-count value > t-table namely 3,508 > 1,67. The results of this research state that the mathematical disposition of students who use problem-based learning is better than the mathematical disposition of students who use conventional learning.

Abstract

Abstract: The use of technology in education has been proven to provide a positive contribution to increasing students' mathematical learning motivation. The purpose of this Community Service is to explore how technology can foster students' mathematical learning motivation in grade V of SDN No. 053997 Sei Siur, Pangkalan Susu District, Langkat Regency, North Sumatra. Through interactive and varied digital media, students can learn in a more interesting, flexible way, and according to their individual needs. Technology also allows for the creation of a more collaborative and communicative learning environment, which ultimately fosters curiosity, activeness, and enthusiasm for learning. Therefore, the integration of appropriate technology in fostering students' mathematical learning motivation is very important to support the achievement of educational goals optimally. Keywords: technology; mathematical learning motivation  Abstrak: Pemanfaatan teknologi dalam dunia pendidikan terbukti memberikan kontribusi positif terhadap peningkatan motivasi belajar matematis siswa. Tujuan dari Pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini adalah untuk mengeksplorasi bagaimana teknologi dapat dapat menumbuhkembangkan  motivasi belajar matematis siswa di kelas V SDN No. 053997 Sei Siur, Kec. Pangkalan Susu, Kabupaten Langkat, Sumatera Utara Melalui media digital yang interaktif dan variatif, siswa dapat belajar dengan cara yang lebih menarik, fleksibel, dan sesuai dengan kebutuhan individual mereka. Teknologi juga memungkinkan terciptanya lingkungan belajar yang lebih kolaboratif dan komunikatif, yang pada akhirnya menumbuhkan rasa ingin tahu, keaktifan, dan semangat belajar. Oleh karena itu, integrasi teknologi yang tepat dalam menumbuhkembangkan motivasi belajar matematis siswa merupakan hal yang sangat penting untuk menunjang tercapainya tujuan pendidikan secara optimal.  Kata kunci: teknologi; motivasi belajar matematis

Abstract

Pemanfaatan bahan-bahan atau limbah yang ada disekitar kita, terkadang bisa menjadi salah satu alternatif atau alat bantu untuk mempermudah didalam memahami suatu konsep khususnya di pembelajaran matematika. Dengan memanfaatkan limbah kerang pada pembelajaran sebagai alat bantu dalam memahami konsep dasar aljabar dapat mempermudah siswa dalam memahami konsep-konsep dasar aljabar sehingga siswa tersebut dapat mudah menerima materi yang disampaikan oleh guru dan dapat mengembangkan pengetahuannya.

Abstract

Abstract: Value-based community organizations, such as the Komunitas Akhwat Sholehah (KoAS) in Kisaran, face significant challenges in enforcing internal discipline. The manual and subjective process of imposing sanctions for violations often leads to perceptions of injustice, inconsistency, and inefficiency. This research aims to design and build a Decision Support System (DSS) model to assist the KoAS management in determining sanctions more objectively, transparently, and accountably. The research methodology uses a waterfall approach, including needs analysis, system design, model implementation, and testing through simulation. The core decision-making logic is implemented using the Simple Additive Weighting (SAW) method, chosen for its ability to accommodate various violation criteria simply and transparently. The result is a conceptual prototype and case simulation demonstrating the system's ability to process violation data based on weighted criteria to produce the most appropriate sanction recommendations. The main contribution is the application of a quantitative management tool (DSS/SAW) in the unique socio-technical context of a religious community, offering a technology-based internal governance model to enhance procedural justice and member trust.Keywords: Decision Support System; Governance; Procedural Justice; Simple Additive Weighting; Value-Based Community Abstrak: Organisasi komunitas berbasis nilai, seperti Komunitas Akhwat Sholehah (KoAS) di Kisaran, menghadapi tantangan signifikan dalam menegakkan disiplin internal. Proses penjatuhan sanksi terhadap pelanggaran yang dilakukan secara manual dan subjektif sering kali menimbulkan persepsi ketidakadilan, inkonsistensi, dan inefisiensi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk merancang dan membangun sebuah model Sistem Pendukung Keputusan (SPK) yang dapat membantu pengurus KoAS dalam menentukan sanksi secara lebih objektif, transparan, dan akuntabel. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah pendekatan waterfall, yang mencakup tahap analisis kebutuhan, perancangan sistem, implementasi model, dan pengujian melalui simulasi. Logika pengambilan keputusan inti dalam sistem ini diimplementasikan menggunakan metode Simple Additive Weighting (SAW), yang dipilih karena kemampuannya dalam mengakomodasi berbagai kriteria pelanggaran secara sederhana dan transparan. Hasil penelitian ini berupa sebuah prototipe konseptual dan simulasi kasus yang menunjukkan kemampuan sistem dalam memproses data pelanggaran berdasarkan kriteria yang telah dibobotkan untuk menghasilkan rekomendasi sanksi yang paling sesuai. Kontribusi utama dari penelitian ini adalah demonstrasi penerapan alat manajemen kuantitatif (SPK/SAW) dalam konteks sosio-teknis unik sebuah komunitas keagamaan, yang menawarkan sebuah model tata kelola internal berbasis teknologi untuk meningkatkan keadilan prosedural dan kepercayaan anggota.Kata kunci: Keadilan Prosedural; Komunitas Berbasis Nilai; Simple Additive Weighting; Sistem Pendukung Keputusan; Tata Kelola

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of realistic mathematics approach on students' mathematical communication skills. This research is a quasi experimental research. The population in this study were all seventh-grade students of SMP Negeri 1 Pangkalan Susu. The samples in this study were 2 classes, namely class VII-3 which was used as an experimental class and class VII-4 was used as a control class. The instrument used was a test in the form of a description of the material Plan Figure. From testing the hypothesis obtained t count (2,250) t table (2.0003) means that Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted. This shows the influence of realistic mathematics approach on students' mathematical communication skills.
