Abstract

Exposure to UV rays can cause photochemical damage to the DNA of cells in the body, triggering cancer formation, especially skin cancer in humans. The skin may lose elasticity. Research is needed to ensure that currently, we are still looking for plants or foods that contain collagen, which can prevent wrinkles. This research is an original experiment carried out in a laboratory. Two types of variables play a role in this research: independent variables and dependent variables. In this experiment, aloe vera gel was used as an independent variable as a substitute for UVB light exposure. Collagen development, measured in mouse skin, is the dependent variable here. This study found that the standard control group had no collagen growth and was stable. This was because the typical control treatment was not exposed to UVB rays; hence, collagen formation was stable. The group administered 15% aloe vera extract gel had a more substantial effect on rat skin tissue collagen development after UVB light exposure than the 5% and 10% groups. This is because a higher dose of aloe vera extract includes more chemical components that promote mouse skin collagen formation.

Abstract

Changes due to genetic conditions (internal and chronological aging) overlap with aging symptoms triggered by environmental conditions (extrinsic aging). Until recently, exposure to the sun's ultraviolet (UV) radiation was considered the leading cause of extrinsic skin aging; both UVB (290-320 nm) and UVA (320-400 nm) caused photoaging, and due to their physical properties, UVB radiation was especially harmful to the skin condition. This study aims to analyze and test the effect of administering gotu kola leaf extract cream (Ceentella asiatica) on collagenization in Wistar rats (Rattus norvegicus) exposed to ultraviolet-B light. This study uses a posttest-only control group design, where only observations are made to the control group and treatment after the treatment is given. The research results show that gotu kola leaf extract contains phytochemicals that can be used as an antioxidant and anti-inflammatory ingredient because they contain flavonoids, saponins, tannins, and phenolic compounds. This research concludes that pegagan leaf extract contains phytochemicals that can be used as medicinal ingredients because it contains high antioxidant and anti-inflammatory compounds. The average percentage of collagen growth in the control group compared to treatment groups P1, P2, and P3 after exposure to UVB light was very high, and the group control of collagen growth was not significant and tended to be stable.

Abstract

Abstract

Service activites in an organization that the main activitiy is as service’s provider has a very strategic role. The facility that can support health service’s realization through Community Health Center  (PUSKESMAS). Minister of Health Regulation number 43 of 2019 concerning Puskesmas states that Puskesmas is health service that doing public health means and first level individual health, by prioritizing promotive and preventive in their working areas. This study aims to determinate the factors relating to quality of health’s service in Puskesmas Rambung at Tebing Tinggi City. This type of research is quantitative with a cross-sectional approach. With population of average monthly patitent who come for treatment of 68 samples. Sampling method used purposive sampling. The results showed that the variables that relating to health service’s quality at Puskesmas Rambung Tebing Tinggi City are tangibles (p=0,004), responsiveness (p=0,0001), assurance (p=0,0001), and empathy (p=0,0001). Puskesmas health workers must improving reliability through the attitude of officers towards patients, maintaining the cleanliness of the puskesmas environment so that patients who come for treatment feel comfortable and it is health workers considered to improve their performance so that they will be even better in the future.
