Abstract

Various treatments can cure pockmarks. First, you have to know the cause of the pockmarks and the strength of the pockmarked skin, making it easier to choose the treatment, one of which is dermapen, which uses Plasma from platelets. Test and compare the effectiveness of the derma pen action using Plasma from platelets with the derma pen action on the pockmarked skin surface of female Wistar rats (Rattus Copernicus). This research is a laboratory experiment to compare the effectiveness of the dermapen action using Plasma from platelets with the dermapen action on the pockmarked skin surface of female Wistar rats (Rattus novergicus) using a post-test with control group design or control samples based on treatment groups to analyze the dermapen action using Plasma from platelets with dermapenic action on the surface of rat skin pockmarks. The results showed that the dermapen treatment group with Plasma from platelets at a dose of 10% was more effective in healing cut wounds in white mice than the dermapen treatment group using Plasma from platelets at doses of 2.5% and 5%, respectively. This is because, at a concentration of 10%, blood plasma metabolite compounds from platelets that are applied to wounds already affect the wound. The effect only inhibits microorganisms at small doses, making it less effective in healing wounds. It is recommended that the minimum dose be 10% so that the metabolite compounds in the Plasma from platelets have a healing effect on wounds.

Abstract

Changes due to genetic conditions (internal and chronological aging) overlap with aging symptoms triggered by environmental conditions (extrinsic aging). Until recently, exposure to the sun's ultraviolet (UV) radiation was considered the leading cause of extrinsic skin aging; both UVB (290-320 nm) and UVA (320-400 nm) caused photoaging, and due to their physical properties, UVB radiation was especially harmful to the skin condition. This study aims to analyze and test the effect of administering gotu kola leaf extract cream (Ceentella asiatica) on collagenization in Wistar rats (Rattus norvegicus) exposed to ultraviolet-B light. This study uses a posttest-only control group design, where only observations are made to the control group and treatment after the treatment is given. The research results show that gotu kola leaf extract contains phytochemicals that can be used as an antioxidant and anti-inflammatory ingredient because they contain flavonoids, saponins, tannins, and phenolic compounds. This research concludes that pegagan leaf extract contains phytochemicals that can be used as medicinal ingredients because it contains high antioxidant and anti-inflammatory compounds. The average percentage of collagen growth in the control group compared to treatment groups P1, P2, and P3 after exposure to UVB light was very high, and the group control of collagen growth was not significant and tended to be stable.

Abstract

Ovarian cancer is a serious disease that affects the ovaries, and its early detection is challenging due to vague symptoms often dismissed as minor ailments. Currently, natural sources have gained attention for their potential role in anticancer treatment. This study aimed to utilize network pharmacology to explore the potential targets and mechanisms of Zanthoxylum acanthopodium in the treatment of ovarian cancer. This study utilized the KNApSAcK and Swiss Target Prediction to identify active compounds and target genes. Additionally, ovarian cancer-specific target genes were sourced from the GEO database. To identify possible key target genes, the network interaction between protein-protein using the STRING database and visualized them in Cytoscape. Subsequent analysis using Gene Ontology (GO) and the Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes (KEGG) pathways enabled us to focus on primary therapeutic targets. Our investigation into Zanthoxylum acanthopodium revealed 10 active compounds that pass Lipinski rule of five and oral bioavailability with acceptable pharmacokinetic profiles, 88 therapeutic targets, and identified 5 hub genes: SRC, CCNB2, MMP9, PTGS2, and PTPRC, which are strongly associated with ovarian cancer progression. Pathway enrichment analysis highlighted several pathways significantly related to the pathogenesis of ovarian cancer. This study elucidates the therapeutic potential and mechanisms of action of Z. acanthopodium as a promising candidate for ovarian cancer treatment. However, further research, including both in vitro and in vivo studies, is necessary to understand its molecular mechanisms comprehensively.

Abstract

Exclusive breastfeeding plays a crucial role in reducing neonatal mortality rates, preventing growth disorders, and enhancing immunological resilience. However, adherence to exclusive breastfeeding practices remains below the targeted level. This study aims to analyze the relationship between maternal characteristics, knowledge, and family support with the success of exclusive breastfeeding in infants. A cross-sectional design was used, conducted at the UPTD Sawang Health Center, South Aceh Regency, during February–March 2025. The population consisted of all mothers with infants aged 7–12 months visiting the health center, totaling 120 individuals. A sample of 97 respondents was selected using purposive sampling. Data were collected through a structured questionnaire, followed by data processing that included response completeness checks, variable coding, and data entry. Data analysis comprised univariate analysis to present the frequency distribution of maternal characteristics and knowledge, and bivariate analysis using the Chi-Square (χ²) test with a significance level of α=0.05 to test the hypotheses. The results showed that maternal employment was significantly associated with the success of exclusive breastfeeding (p < 0.001), whereas maternal education (p = 0.566), income (p = 0.915), maternal knowledge (p = 0.351), and family support (p = 0.252) were not significantly related. In conclusion, maternal employment has a significant relationship with exclusive breastfeeding success
