Abstract

The increase of population caused many agricultural land  converted into settlements, so the challenge of fulfilling food from the agricultural sector is increasing. One of the efforts to optimize the fulfillment of food needs from increasingly narrow land is to use the plots of land with hydroponic system plantations. This study is aimed to analyze the advantages of hydroponic organic lettuce in the DFT (Deep Flow Technique) system in the plots, break-even points of hydroponic farming, and R / C ratio of hydroponic vegetable farming. This research was carried out in March to April 2019. in the yard of the Sidondo Agricultural Technology Research and Assessment (IP2TP) office located in Sidondo III Village, Sigi Biromaru District, Sigi Regency, Central Sulawesi Province. This research  using cost and income analysis, break even point, and R / C ratio. The results of the study through break-even analysis or Break Even Point (BEP) analysis viewed from two sides: in terms of total production / BEP (Q) and in terms of selling price / BEP (Rp), a DFT BEP (Q) of 32.5 is obtained kg and Rp. 18,581 on BEP. It's obtained 2.15 on R / C Ratio Analysis  in farming. Hydroponic farming in the backyard is profitable.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the performance of a cabinet dryer that uses hybrid solar energy and LPG. Renewable energy is essential for agricultural drying. This hybrid system dryer uses fuzzy logic and expert system technology to optimize the amount of energy used. The test methods include tests of solar collectors, air and gas valves, and drying and energy consumption using 10 kg of fresh sago. The results show that hybrid and non-hybrid (gas only) fulfill sago's temperature and moisture content requirements for drying. With the integration of fuzzy logic and expert system technology, the machine can optimize solar and gas energy efficiency, resulting in 53% out of 100% savings compared to non-hybrid. In addition to energy savings, the operating cost of the hybrid system is cheaper than non-hybrid. In conclusion, applying a solar-LPG hybrid system in a cabinet-type dryer can optimize performance and reduce energy consumption and operating costs.

Abstract

Buah pisang ambon lumut merupakan salah satu buah klimaterik yang umumnya dipanen ketika masih mentah dari pohonnya untuk bisa dijual. Perkiraan kematangan buah pisang ambon lumut masih mengalami kesulitan sebab warna kulit buah tidak berubah saat mentah ataupun matang, sehingga pembeli harus mengecek tanda-tanda kematangan dari buah dengan cara menekan buah yang dapat menimbulkan memar dan mempengaruhi perubahan mutu buah tersebut. Penelitian ini bertujuan merancang pendeteksi tingkat kesegaran buah pisang ambon lumut berbasis indikator bromofenol biru dan metil merah yang mampu menyerap senyawa bromin penyebab kebusukan. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap dengan dua faktor penelitian. Faktor pertama yaitu komposisi dan perbandingan metil merah dan bromofenol biru dengan empat taraf perlakuan (BM3 = 3 larutan A:1 larutan B, BM5 = 5 larutan A:1 larutan B, BM = 100% larutan A, dan BB = 100% larutan B). Larutan A yaitu 50% metil merah dan 50% bromofenol biru, sedangkan larutan B yaitu 100% bromofenol biru. Faktor kedua yaitu konsentrasi pelarut etanol dengan dua taraf perlakuan (pengenceran 50 ml dan 100 ml). Data penelitian dianalisis menggunakan software SPSS dengan ANOVA pada taraf nyata 5% dan diuji lanjut dengan uji Beda Nyata Jujur pada taraf nyata yang sama. Perlakuan BM5 memberikan data total perubahan warna tertinggi yang mengindikasikan perubahan warna yang terlihat signifikan, yaitu warna ungu–kuning untuk kondisi matang–busuk. Pengembangan indikator kesegaran ini diharapkan dapat menjadi label pintar pendeteksi bromin pada buah pisang ambon lumut hijau.
