Abstract

Abstract— Indonesian society is diverse with various segments. One of the segments relevant to the design of fashion products is the division of the social class structure along with the mapping that accompanies each class. The theory that is often used related to social structure is trickle down, where fashion is considered to originate from the upper class society and is then adopted by the middle and lower classes. Trickle down is applied as a theoretical basis in this research based on the dominance of the upper class as consumers of weaving and weaving-based fashion products, especially Tuban gedog weaving in Indonesia. The methods used are interviews, questionnaires, and visual form experiments through the ATUMICS method. The method above produces bag designs that adopts design trends for the upper class, but with some adjustments for the middle class regarding shape, style, color, detail, and decorative elements. The adjustment is intended to answer the needs of middle class consumers in terms of bag design and function, as well as product selling prices. A survey of bag designs at the end of the study shows that the middle class in Indonesia has a different trend from the upper class so that trickle down is not suitable for consumers in Indonesia. Keywords: middle class, bag design, gedog weaving Abstrak— Masyarakat di Indonesia bersifat majemuk dengan beragam segmentasi. The dream is to develop their businesses at national and international levels, to be able to meet the needs of community demand, and to innovate more modern products. The program design was grouped into four clusters: production, products, management, and marketing. Furthermore, the community service team together with one bamboo-woven partner determines the program activities: Increasing assets (bamboo cutting machines and thinning machines), increasing product diversity, increasing management capabilities, and increasing product promotion media. Finally, implementing program activities to increase machine assets and machine operation training, innovative product workshops, financial literacy training, and photographing bamboo woven products for components in the e-catalog. Finally, partners have bamboo-cutting and slicing technologies, digital administration, and innovative products. In conclusion, this Community Service program needs to be continued to achieve the Target Partners' desire to become MSMEs with national and international markets

Abstract

Currently, humans are increasingly moving towards individualism. This is due to the influence of technological developments and trust issues in society. Therefore, relationships between humans need to be built and maintained in social life for the sustainability of interdependent and bound life. Furthermore, the idea of this research was inspired by the film "Dream", which is about the relationship of togetherness that is established between humans through a Homeless World Cup event. The aim is to describe the translation of inspiration from togetherness into a fashion and fabric manipulation for a cloth accessory. The research method chosen is quasi-qualitative to support the design and manufacturing process of fabric manipulation. The data analysis technique uses a descriptive technique to describe the results of the questionnaire and a simple research analysis to describe the results of textile manipulation. The results of the study showed that the indicators for making fabric manipulation are based on togetherness, unity, and solidarity. Furthermore, the fabric manipulation produced is in the form of fabric weaving and macrame, with a color palette of natural, neutral, and warm colors. Fabric manipulation and color palette are supported by designs that depict cohesion and harmony. Thus, it is forming a ready-to-wear fashion collection with high value and selling power.
