Abstract

Health facility accreditation has been in great demand in recent years. Mobile applications can serve as a tool for community healthcare center’s (Puskesmas) to assess the value of their accreditation, especially regarding administration and management. In the context of preparation for accreditation, it can be used as a self-assessment tool for elements of management administration. This case-based article focuses on smartphone application development using the input-process-output-outcome scheme as a framework. We developed a checklist and assessment for the management administration component by reviewing Permenkes No. 46 the Year 2015 concerning Puskesmas accreditation. This is the first available mobile application on the Google Play Store, targeting Puskesmas staff to improve the quality of administration and management services based on accreditation criteria. This smartphone application functions as an independent assessment tool for Puskesmas to complete the accreditation criteria as stated in the regulation of the minister of health. About 20 Puskesmas staff showed a very good response and positive. All stated that they were very helpful and satisfied with this application, so they will continue to use and distribute it to other Puskesmas staff.

Abstract

Introduction: Helicopter pilots are potentially at risk of Low Back Pain (LBP) and are twice as likely as fighter pilots to experience it. Helicopter pilots’ LBP is caused by a combination of risk factors: engine and rotor vibration, ergonomic risks due to cockpit design, static seating position due to operations, and individual factors. These factors are incorporated into cumulative aviation risk exposure, which can be measured by total flight hours. The prevalence of LBP in Caucasians is high, at 50.5%-92%. However, there has not been any research on Indonesian military helicopter pilots who have a different posture from Caucasians. Objective: To determine the prevalence of LBP, to analyze the relationship between total flight hours and individual factors (age, height, BMI, exercise habits, and smoking habits) with LBP in Indonesian military helicopter pilots. Methods: The study was conducted at the Indonesian Army and Indonesian Air Force with total sampling method as many as 124 people. An explanation was carried out followed by filling in the consent to become a research subject, filling in personal data, anamnesis, Numeric Rating Scale (NRS), physical examination, neurological examination, and total flight hour data. Results: There were 124 subjects, consisting of 37.9% pilots and 62.1% copilots, 87.9% of pilots operate large helicopters, have average total flight hours of 450 hours, age of 30 years, the height of 172.66 cm, low intensity exercise habits of 61.3%, and smokers as much as 45.2%. A total of 57 people (46%) experienced LBP. Statistical results showed that total flight hours had an association with LBP (p = 0.035) where each 1 unit increase in total flight hours had a 1.02 times greater chance of LBP.Conclusion: The prevalence of LBP is 46% and there is an association between total flying hours and LBP in Indonesian military helicopter pilots.

Abstract

Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) Cuanki Bakti Mulia is a company engaged in the food industry that produces cuanki in Indonesia. It is at high risk due to the severity and possibility of accidents causing severe injuries. This study aims to identify hazards, assess risks, and control at MSMEs Cuanki Bakti Mulia, Kasemen District, Serang City. The method used is Hazard Identification Risk Assessment and Control (HIRAC). The object of study is the work of MSMEs Cuanki Bakti Mulia, namely all potentially hazardous activities. Data from the company, interviews, direct surveys of production equipment, and machines in the production process were collected for this study. The results of the study showed that many risks were identified. The process of making and rolling meatball dough, and fried dumpling dough had a high risk rating compared to others. In dough making, ingredients in flour that come into direct touch with the breath might irritate the nasal and mouth mucosa and create respiratory problems. In dough rolling, hands are exposed to vibration for a long time, and noise causes hearing loss. Several protection and prevention measures have been taken, mainly to protect workers from workplace accidents and maintain the hygiene of the food produced. The proposed hazard controls are replacing firewood with gas stoves when frying to make tofu and fried dumplings, setting restrictions on workers' working hours, and ensuring adequate rest by reducing working hours. The company needs to provide and equip with Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

Abstract

Community health workers hold an important role in health promotion and prevention of dengue fever. In the Jumantik program, the community health workers sought to find any mosquito larvae at the houses and report the findings to the community health centers (Puskesmas). Nevertheless, the reporting process is still paper-based and complex. This study aims to develop a mobile application that facilitates the reporting process to be more user-friendly and practical for community health workers. We used a system framework with the input-process-output scheme in developing this application. A review of the Puskesmas program and interviews with Puskesmas officers and community health workers were performed to obtain input. The application was tested among programmers and users (i.e., community health workers) to understand its usability and applicability. The users were able to input the data, upload photos, and produce the report. We invited about fifty users to test this application. They provided positive responses and were satisfied with the final product of this mobile application. However, they also suggest adding some functions related to the data storage and availability of this application in the Apple store
