Abstract

Expert system is computer programs that mimic the thought process and expert knowledge in solving a particular problem. Basically, an expert system has various methods to diagnose various kinds of diseases experienced by humans, animals, and plants. This research analyzes the comparison of Certainty Factor method and Bayes Probability method in the expert system of Ear, Nose, and Throat (ENT) diseases. Both methods have the same basic theory of overcoming uncertainties with existing variables. The Certainty Factor method has many variables that are used as systematic knowledge, namely the weight value of the expert which is the basis of knowledge of the system and the user input weight value, while the Bayes Probability method uses only expert knowledge in the calculation. Based on a comparative analysis of the methods obtained with 10 patients data on the ENT disease expert system, the Certainty Factor method has accuracy in diagnosing the disease by 100%, while the Probability Bayes method of system accuracy is 80%. So it can be concluded that the Certainty Factor method is more accurate in diagnosing ENT than the Bayes Probability method.

Abstract

Abstract

The article aims to describe the urgency, implementation, and impact of collaborative efforts in creating an innovative education ecosystem and a resilient society in the digital era. The digital era presents both opportunities and challenges for education and community resilience. Higher education institutions are required to develop innovative, inclusive, and sustainable distance learning (DL) models, while society, especially youth, faces a serious threat from the rise of online gambling. In response, Universitas Siber Muhammadiyah implemented a community service program at Pondok Pesantren Nur Ma'arif Sepang, Polewali Mandar, West Sulawesi, employing a participatory and collaborative approach. The program was implemented from February to June 2025, with its peak in a webinar held on May 25, 2025. The method included a needs assessment, the design of modules on digital literacy, legal awareness, mental health, and Islamic financial literacy, followed by workshops, training sessions, and mentoring sessions. The results showed a significant improvement in participants' knowledge, with average pretest scores of 68.20 increasing to 83.75 in the posttest. The most notable improvements were in legal understanding and Islamic financial literacy. Supporting factors included high participant enthusiasm, accessible learning materials, and the involvement of young tech-savvy teachers, while major obstacles were limited internet access and insufficient hardware. This program concludes that integrating innovative distance learning and digital literacy based on Islamic values can enhance youth resilience against digital disruption and strengthen pesantren's role as an agent of social change.

Abstract

The management of environmental fees in residential areas requires an information system that is capable of supporting accurate transaction recording and transparent information delivery. Previously, Sunderland Jambi Housing Estate managed environmental fee administration using a manual system, which potentially caused recording errors, data inconsistency, and delays in information dissemination to residents. These limitations reduced the effectiveness and transparency of financial management processes. This study aims to evaluate the implementation of a web-based Environmental Fee Management Information System (SIM-IPL) at Sunderland Jambi Housing Estate. The research method applied is descriptive with a case study approach. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and questionnaires distributed to 20 active system users. System testing was conducted using Black Box Testing and User Acceptance Test (UAT) methods. The results of Black Box Testing indicate that all main system functionalities, including user authentication, transaction processing, data management, and financial reporting, operate according to the specified functional requirements. Furthermore, the UAT results show an overall average score of 4.88 or 97.6%, which is categorized as excellent. These results demonstrate that SIM-IPL is easy to use, improves financial information transparency, and provides a high level of user satisfaction. Therefore, it can be concluded that the web-based SIM-IPL is feasible and effective for supporting environmental fee management at Sunderland Jambi Housing Estate and can serve as a reference for similar residential financial management systems.

Abstract

This study explores the role of Management Information Systems (MIS) in enhancing the quality of organizational decision making through a systematic literature review of publications from the 2021–2025 period. A narrative literature review method was employed by analyzing 17 empirical studies retrieved from international academic databases, including Scopus, Google Scholar, and ScienceDirect. Thematic analysis identified three fundamental dimensions influencing the effectiveness of information systems in supporting organizational decision making: the technological dimension, characterized by the integration of artificial intelligence and machine learning; the organizational dimension, involving structural alignment and data driven culture; and the individual dimension, related to user competencies and algorithm aversion. The findings reveal that the implementation of Management Information Systems significantly improves decision accuracy by up to 82%, timeliness by 88%, and operational efficiency by 84%, with usage intensity, user competence, data quality, and system integration collectively explaining 58% of the variance in decision quality. Nevertheless, system effectiveness is constrained by inadequate user training, poor data quality, legacy system integration issues, low trust in algorithmic outputs, and organizational resistance to change. This study confirms that the benefits of Management Information Systems are not technologically deterministic; rather, they depend on a socio technical approach that integrates strategic alignment, digital capability investment, the development of a supportive organizational culture, and robust data governance to transform data into actionable business intelligence within strategic, tactical, and operational decision making contexts
