Abstract

There are issues with teachers’ reluctance in writing their lesson plans. They use last year’s lesson plan, copy their friends’ lesson plan, or download it from the internet. The purpose of this study is to find out how lesson plans written by teachers teaching grade ten in a Senior High School in Bandung align with the syllabus in terms of learning objectives, procedure, and evaluation. The study applied the framework of descriptive study (qualitative research). One out of four lesson plans was chosen as the main object of the data which were then analyzed using the adapted instrument from Evaluasi Diri Sekolah. The fitness among learning objectives, activities, and evaluation were analyzed in detail after checking out eight criteria of the interdependence of lesson plan and syllabus at a glance. The findings of the research showed that the lesson plan analyzed aligns with the syllabus in terms of learning objectives, activities, and evaluation. The study concluded that a lesson plan should be developed by referring to the syllabus because the elements are interdependent. It is recommended for other teachers to develop their lesson plans by referring to the syllabus so that the alignment between the lesson plan and syllabus help in running a good teaching and learning process.

Abstract

This study delved into the realm of expressive speech acts within stand-up comedy, with a specific focus on Raditya Dika's "Cerita Cintaku" YouTube series. Drawing from John Searle's theoretical framework, which encompassed emotion-showing, mood-indicating, aesthetic judgment, and expressive vocabulary, the research explored the intricate dynamics of linguistic choices and audience responses. Employing a qualitative case study approach, two selected videos were analyzed to unravel the nuanced use of expressive speech acts. The findings shed light on Raditya Dika's comedic craft, emphasizing the interplay between expressive speech, emotional expression, and inherent humor. The abstract underscored the specificity of linguistic elements, provided insights into the chosen methodology, and articulated the interface between Searle's theory and the empirical findings. This research contributed to a deeper understanding of the role of expressive speech in stand-up comedy, offering a unique perspective on audience engagement and comedic impact.

Then the rx2y value is 0.969 with rtable 0.220, because rcount> rtable then the second hypothesis is accepted. Then the rx3y value is 0.970 with rtable 0.220, because rcount> rtable then the third hypothesis is accepted. Furthermore, the value of rx1x2x3y is 0.976 with rtable 0.220, because rcount> rtable then the fourth hypothesis is accepted. And supported by the value of Fcount = 518.764 and Ftable = 1.454 so that Fcount> Ftable (518.764> 1.454) is obtained. Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the SOSAKA (Socialization of Communication) program in optimizing the use of the Edlink e-learning platform in the Vocational Makeup Education Study Program, Indonesian Institute of the Arts (ISI) Padang Panjang. The background of this study is based on the low level of utilization of Edlink features optimally by students, especially in the context of online learning which is increasingly important after the pandemic. This study uses a descriptive quantitative method with a data analysis technique of respondent achievement level (TCR). The research sample consisted of 95 students from semester 1 to semester 6 who were selected by total sampling. Data was collected through a questionnaire covering five main indicators. The results showed that the average level of respondent achievement reached 74.6%, which is categorized as quite good. The highest indicator is the effectiveness of the SOSAKA program (83%), while the lowest indicator is interactive communication between lecturers and students (68%). These findings indicate that the SOSAKA program is effective in increasing students' awareness and skills in using Edlink, although there are still challenges in terms of interaction and utilization of advanced features. This study provides implications that interactive communication-based training such as SOSAKA needs to be continuously developed and integrated sustainably into academic activities. In addition, institutional support in the form of lecturer training, provision of facilities, and affirmative policies are also very necessary to encourage more optimal digital learning.

Abstract

This study explores the role of BARISTA (Bahasa Inggris untuk Presentasi Konsep Pertunjukan Tari), a digital learning resource developed to enhance the English presentation skills of Dance Arts students at the Indonesian Institute of the Arts Padangpanjang. It focuses on three aspects: the challenges students face in speaking English, their perspectives on the BARISTA materials, and insights into the integration of tailored digital media in English for Specific Purposes (ESP). A descriptive qualitative method was employed with 15 undergraduate students, using classroom observations, student reflections, and informal interviews as data sources. Findings indicate that students struggle with limited vocabulary, grammar complexity, and lack of supportive English-speaking environments, which affect their confidence in spontaneous communication. However, students evaluated BARISTA positively, describing it as engaging, clear, and highly relevant to their academic needs. The combination of video tutorials and a flip guidebook enhanced concentration, curiosity, and motivation while offering discipline-specific vocabulary and communicative support for presenting dance concepts. The study highlights that tailored digital media fosters improvements in cognitive, motivational, and affective dimensions of learning. These outcomes align with ESP principles underscoring the effectiveness of integrating contextualized digital tools into language instruction. It is recommended that language and arts educators collaborate in adopting such resources, and that institutions provide broader support to embed ESP materials within curricula, preparing students to communicate their cultural heritage confidently on international platforms.
