Abstract

This qualitative research aims to determine the understanding and application of religious tolerance verses among boarding school high school students in the Soloraya area. Data were collected through questionnaires and interviews with students and teachers. The findings show a positive understanding of religious tolerance verses in such schools. Students gain this understanding through formal and informal social guidance and interaction. They display tolerant behavior towards both Muslim and non-Muslim individuals. A variety of factors contribute to the development of tolerant attitudes, including student background, teacher understanding, effective classroom management, family roles, and harmonious relationships between school and family. Boarding schools such as MATIQ Isy Karima, Muhammadiyah Trensains, IT Al-Huda, Daarul Fath, Baitul Qur'an, and Al-Muayyad have implemented the values of tolerance through formal and informal activities. The article recommends concrete measures to increase tolerance among boarding school students, such as the implementation of a multicultural pesantren curriculum, visits by religious leaders, inclusive social activities, house of worship visits, and interfaith seminars

Abstract

ABSTRACT This study originates from the need of madrasahs to connect academic learning with the development of religious character through the implementation of a full day school program, which has thus far been rarely examined in public Islamic schools. This research aims to describe the planning, implementation, and outcomes of the full day school program in cultivating students’ religious character and improving their academic achievement at MTs Negeri 2 Karanganyar in the 2025/2026 academic year. A qualitative approach was applied using a field research design with data collected through observation, interviews, and documentation involving the principal, Islamic education teachers, the vice principal for student affairs, and students. The findings show that the program was designed through the preparation of an integrated schedule and collaborative task distribution, and was implemented through a series of academic and religious activities carried out throughout the day. The main results indicate an improvement in students’ worship discipline, religious participation, and academic scores in several core subjects, accompanied by challenges such as student fatigue and limited facilities. Overall, the full day school program contributes positively to the integration of learning and character education and serves as a reference for development in public madrasahs seeking to strengthen religious habituation within the school environment.

Abstract

This study explores the integration of Prophet Ibrahim's leadership principles into Human Resource Management (HRM) practices within Islamic educational institutions. Prophet Ibrahim is revered for his ethical values and exemplary leadership, which offer insights into developing HRM strategies that align with Islamic values and global HRM standards. A literature review methodology was adopted, drawing on existing academic sources and supporting literature to identify and analyze the leadership principles of Prophet Ibrahim and their relevance to HRM. The findings indicate that Prophet Ibrahim’s leadership principles—such as integrity, justice, obedience, and discipline—provide a strong ethical foundation for HRM practices. These values contribute to fostering an inclusive, fair, and effective organizational culture in Islamic educational institutions. Integrating Prophet Ibrahim’s leadership values into HRM practices ensures alignment with Islamic values while enhancing governance standards. This approach promotes ethical decision-making, equitable management, and discipline, resulting in a holistic HRM framework that balances religious and global benchmarks. The study underscores the relevance of Prophet Ibrahim's leadership principles in shaping HRM practices in Islamic educational institutions. By embedding these principles, institutions can cultivate a values-driven culture that meets both religious and professional standards. Future research should explore practical implementation strategies to enhance HRM effectiveness further.

Abstract

Recent national surveys in Indonesia, including reports from the Ministry of Religious Affairs and independent research institutions, indicate a decline in religious tolerance among students, raising concerns about the effectiveness of religious education in fostering religious moderation. This study examines the Qur’anic foundations of religious moderation by mapping students’ understanding of selected Qur’anic verses on tolerance and analyzing their relationship with religious moderation among students at UIN Raden Mas Said Surakarta. In this study, mapping refers to an empirical assessment of students’ perceptions and comprehension of tolerance-related Qur’anic verses and their association with moderating religious attitudes. Employing a quantitative survey design, data were collected from 352 students across five faculties using stratified systematic sampling. Correlation and regression analyses were applied to examine the relationship between the variables. The findings reveal a positive and statistically significant relationship between students’ understanding of Qur’anic tolerance verses and religious moderation (r = 0.505, p < 0.01), indicating a moderate strength of association. Regression analysis further confirms the model's robustness. The results suggest that stronger comprehension of Qur’anic principles of tolerance is associated with higher levels of religious moderation, shaped by curricular content, lecturers’ pedagogical approaches, and students’ social environments. These findings provide empirical support for strengthening Qur’an-based educational policies and instructional strategies to promote religious moderation within State Islamic Higher Education Institutions (PTKIN).
