Abstract

This research aims to empirically explore the extent to which organisational learning and product innovation explain the relationship between Management Control System (MCS) package, corporate governance, and organisational performance. This research used cluster sampling for data collection. Collected data from 369 managers/owners of small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in Malaysia were used to run partial least square (PLS) regression models and test research hypotheses. The deductive reasoning method is used to develop the theoretical framework. MCS package and corporate governance are positively associated with product innovation and organisational learning. The results reveal that MCS package, corporate governance, organisational learning, and product innovation are positively associated with organisational performance. Organisational learning and product innovation significantly mediate the MCS package, corporate governance, and organisational performance. This research signifies that SMEs managers/owners in Malaysia that MCS package, corporate governance, organisational learning, and product innovation significantly determine organisational performance. In order to boost its performance, they may consider financial and non-financial aspects. The Malaysian government uses the outcomes of this research for the betterment of SMEs in Malaysia.

Abstract

This research identifies various types of insect vectors that are capable of spreading disease-causing viruses in sugarcane plants in Indonesia and explores methods of controlling them. The main vector insects are from the order Hemiptera, which have piercing and sucking type mouthparts. These insects play an important role in the spread of viruses such as sugarcane mosaic virus (SCMV), sugarcane streak mosaic virus (SCSMV), and sugarcane yellow leaf virus (SCYLV), which can cause significant deterrence in national sugarcane productivity. This research uses a qualitative modeling approach by reviewing the literature to collect data regarding methods of controlling virus vector insects. The research results show that insect vector control must be carried out in an integrated manner, prioritizing technical and biological control methods as well as routine monitoring. The use of insecticides is recommended only if the insect population increases significantly. These results provide practical guidance for reducing the negative impact of insect vectors on sugarcane productivity in Indonesia.

Abstract

Risk serves as an important aspect that can change the decision making of individuals, especially if it is related to investment decision making. The effects of risk on investment decision making have been extensively discussed in the literature but little of it assessed the dominance of various risk-related factors in investment decision making by individuals. In order to make up for this lack,  this research studies the impact of risk avoidance,  uncertainty avoidance and perceived risk on the investment intentions of individual investors in Pakistan and relate it to Hofstede’s cultural dimension. The data was collected from individual investors and after screening, a sample of 548 was found useable for further analysis. Using SEM-PLS, it was found that risk avoidance and uncertainty avoidance significantly influence the investment intention of individual investors. On the other hand perceived risk does not influence the investment intentions of individual investors. In the evaluation of dominating factors, it was found that   risk avoidance is the most significant and the strongest factor that influences the individual investors’ investment intentions. This paper suggests that investment managers should work on strategies to change the risk avoidance behaviour of investors. Moreover, findings suggest that the cultural aspect is more important, and the level of risk avoidance should be kept in mind while offering stocks in the market. The Security Exchange Commission of Pakistan can prepare risk-adjusted products to enhance the level of intentions among the individual investors in Pakistan.

Abstract

Okra is a healthy vegetable and medication. Growing okra on an organic medium and adding charcoal may boost output. Okra plant growth metrics and yields will be examined about the organic growing medium and biochar dose. The study was place in March 2021 at Sekarpuro Village, Pakis District, Malang Regency. This study employed a factorial Randomised Block Design (RAK) with two factors: Organic Planting Media and Biochar dose. Plant height (cm), number of leaves (strands), number of crop fruits (fruit), fruit weight per plant (grammes), fruit diameter, length, and bar weight are observation metrics—analysis of variance using ANOVA and BNT 5% difference test. The study found that 7.5 tons/ha of manure and 10 tons/ha of coconut fibre biochar naturally increased okra plant growth and output. Fruit and stem weights also varied with planting medium and charcoal. The finding is that organic growing medium treatment and biochar dose affect okra plant development.

Abstract

This article discusses innovations in biotechnology through genetic transformation and somaclonal engineering with the aim of increasing plant genetic diversity, which is very important for ecosystem balance and food security. Unlike previous studies that focused more on structural genetic variation, this article highlights the application of modern technologies such as the use of Agrobacterium tumefaciens and tissue culture techniques. These methods aim to create plants with superior properties, strengthen their ability to adapt to extreme environmental conditions, and support biodiversity conservation efforts. The analysis shows that the combination of molecular technology and somaclonal engineering can produce plant varieties that are more durable, productive, and adaptive to climate change. This innovation is expected to contribute significantly to supporting global food security and biodiversity conservation, by providing sustainable solutions to current environmental challenges. The integration of this technology not only enriches plant genetic variation but also contributes to the stability of the wider ecosystem. With this progress, it is hoped that food production can increase and be more stable even when faced with uncertain climate change.
