Abstract

The Covid-19 pandemic has caused changes all aspects of people's lives today, especially in the world of education which requires all elements of education to adapt and continue the rest of the semester with online learning. This condition caused prolonged stress, a condition where there is physical, emotional, and mental fatigue caused by excessive. This research was conducted on April 2021 with the aim of identifying predictors of prolonged stress of students taking online learning. The method used descriptive approach. The data analysis used factor analysis with KMO and Bartlett's Test methods. The population in this research were all students of nursing study program ITSK RS dr. Soepraoen Malang total 815. The sampling technique used accidental sampling with total sample of 279. The instrument used Maslach Burnout Inventory which distributed online by google forms. The results showed that almost all of the students who experienced mild to moderate prolonged stress were regular students with a total of 252 people (90.3%), low to moderate respondents were unmarried, organizational factors causing prolonged stress were institutional support, more than half of the respondents, 27 people (9,7 %) who felt adequate support from the institution experienced prolonged stress in the mild to moderate category. The dominant factor was student's status as a regular student or assignment or study permit with the significance value was 0.001 <0.05. It is recommended that students actively seek support systems from family and friends as well as educational institutions that are consistent in supporting students

Abstract

Textbooks play a crucial role in the teaching-learning process by offering students a well-organized and thorough source of information. They function as an essential educational resource, motivating pupils to attain fluency in the desired language. This qualitative study examines the lexical string pattern of two English as a Foreign Language (EFL) textbooks using Systemic Functional Linguistics (SFL). By focusing on lexical strings, it aims to uncover how vocabulary is sequenced and contextualized within the texts, providing insights into the coherence and cohesion strategies employed. As their capacity to disclose social and cultural aspects of language use, as well as their authenticity, intertextuality, interactive quality, and communicative roles, reading passages samples from the textbooks were selected and modified into clauses for analysis. The results show repetitive, synonymous, and meronymic counts provide insights into language usage and contribute to the overall texture and structure of the analysed texts. On the other hand, higher counts of lexical strings and lexical relations suggest a higher level of diversity and complexity. The results have pedagogical implications for effective EFL teaching. In this respect, teachers can improve vocabulary retention and coherence in language instruction by using strategic approaches based on their awareness of the dominance of repetition and short lexical strings. Thus, this study gives a significant contribution to the field of EFL teaching by providing teachers to create more contextually appropriate and successful language teaching resources that will accelerate students' development of language proficiency. For students, it offers enhanced learning materials tailored to their needs, promoting faster and more effective language acquisition.

Abstract

Background : Macrophages are essential cells of the innate immune system that highly adaptable and play vital roles in tissue homeostasis, immune regulation, and development. Among their various phenotypes, the M2c subtype—induced by IL-10 and TGF-β—is known for its regulatory functions, high phagocytic capacity, and pro-angiogenic potential. This study aimed to investigate whether M2c polarization via IL-10 stimulation occurs in a dose-dependent manner by differentiating human monocyte-derived macrophages using IL-10 at concentrations of 5, 10, and 20 ng/mL. Methods : IL-10 expression levels were assessed by ELISA and qPCR. The results demonstrated a clear dose-dependent increase in IL-10 expression across both methods. Results : ELISA measurements showed IL-10 levels increasing from a mean of 3.2±0.7 pg/mL in untreated controls to 19.34±2.3 pg/mL (5 ng/mL), 35.5±7 pg/mL (10 ng/mL), and 67.2±5.8 pg/mL (20 ng/mL). Similarly, qPCR analysis revealed a corresponding increase in IL-10 gene expression, with relative fold changes from 1±0 (untreated control) to 3.1±0.4, 6±1.3, and 10.1±1.6, respectively. Conclusions : These findings indicate that IL-10 induces M2c macrophage polarization in a dose-dependent manner, providing insight into optimized conditions for generating regulatory macrophage populations for potential therapeutic applications.

Abstract

This study examines the legal standing of the Indonesian Tyre Business Association (APBI) in light of the KPPU Decision Number 08/Pdt.G/KPPU-I-2014 concerning tire cartel violations in the Indonesian automotive industry. Utilizing normative legal research methods focusing on positive legal norms, the study identifies and systematizes violations of business competition rules by six major APBI member companies between 2008 and 2012, and critically analyzes and interprets the evidentiary basis of these findings. The companies allegedly colluded on tire pricing, manipulating the market for Passenger Car Radial (PCR) tires and inducing unfair business competition. The study asserts that, while the APBI's role in facilitating this collusion was apparent, its legal liability remains unclear due to the association's ability to influence member practices without a binding enforcement mechanism. These findings raise critical implications for market competition and cartel law enforcement, necessitating a re-evaluation of the legal provisions surrounding business associations, especially in the context of Indonesia's anti-monopoly and unfair competition laws.Highlights: APBI's facilitation of cartel behavior among its members. Unclear legal liability of business associations in anti-competitive practices. Need for re-evaluation of legal provisions surrounding business associations. Keywords: Cartel, Indonesian Tyre Business Association (APBI), Unfair Business Competition, Competition Law, Indonesian Tyre Industry

Abstract

Copland et al. (2014) report that a large number of teachers deal with students at various phases of learning and with diverse individual requirements; students are frequently viewed as weak in language learning. This paper tries to find out the answer to how can teachers involve the high-proficient students in supporting low-proficient students in Indonesian English primary classes? The investigation of this topic can provide English teachers with strategies for encouraging student interactions between students of varying English proficiency levels. In addition, it provides a variety of techniques for maximizing the English learning experience for pupils of varying proficiency levels. In this paper, it is argued that incorporating positive interaction throughout the learning process is beneficial for the support of low-proficient students by high-proficient students in Indonesian English primary classes. Some of the ways it can be achieved is through peer learning, cooperative learning, and digital learning, among other methods. Our curriculum may require consideration of positive student interaction and the inclusion of materials on incorporating positive student interaction in English language learning through various Teacher Professional Development program methodologies. Additionally, Elementary English teachers in Indonesia should master teaching techniques that integrate positive student interactions.
