Abstract

In this advanced information and communication era, technology can influence the educational practices of teachers and students. Watching Animation Video is one of the ways to develop listening skill and in this case, it refers to students’ perception of Animation Video as media for learning listening at SMK Al-Hikmah Jepara to gives them the authority to their listening skill. The objective of this research is aimed to know the students’ perception of Animation Video as media for learning listening at SMK Al-Hikmah Jepara. This kind of research is qualitative with a descriptive qualitative design. The participants of this research are 25 tenth grade students of AKL 1 at SMK Al-Hikmah Jepara. The instruments used in this study were questionnaires and interviews. The result of this study shows that the perception of the tenth grade AKL 1 students of SMK Al-Hikmah Jepara toward using Animation Video as media for learning listening, it can be concluded that most of the students agree to use Animation Video as media for learning listening. It means that the use of Animation Video as media for learning listening gives a potentially positive contribution to developing listening skills. Most students are enjoy and interested in using Animation Video as media for learning listening. Not only that the use of Animation Videos does not make students bored, but students become more active so they are more interested and of course, Animation Videos also help students in increasing vocabulary and developing listening skills. Therefore, hopefully, this research will help students improve their listening skills, especially through the use of Animation Video as listening learning media. Besides that, the researcher also suggests teachers be able to use Animation Videos as media for learning listening in class. Then the researcher suggests for the next researcher, in order to be able can explore more information about the students' perceptions of using Animation Video as media for learning listening in different methods.

Abstract

Abstract: Learning vocabulary is essential for English language learners and it is often best taught in early age, such as in primary school students. One of the methods that can be used in teaching vocabulary is Total Physical Response (TPR). The purpose of this study is to investigate the implementation of TPR in teaching vocabulary among primary school students and to explore the students’ responses after learning. The participants were an English teacher who also served as the researcher and twenty-three second-grade students of SD Aisyiyah Multilingual Darussalam Kudus. This study used a descriptive qualitative method, with data obtained from observation and interviews.  The findings revealed that there are three teaching stages in the teaching vocabulary, such as pre-teaching, whilst-teaching, and post-teaching. Furthermore, the teacher has several roles in these stages, such as planner, director, model, and assessor.  Various fun activities such as singing a song together, listening and doing, and playing games were used to boost the students’ enthusiasm and motivation. In the last stage, the teacher assesses the students to ensure their comprehension. In addition, interview data shows that TPR method has effectively helped students remember new vocabulary, create fun and enjoyable learning atmosphere.

Abstract

Communicative Language Teaching (CLT) is an approach that gives priority to language as a means of communication for real-life purposes, emphasizing interaction and the practical use of language. This study looks into how implements CLT in teaching English in elementary classes at the Language Center and how teacher’s perception views its effectiveness. This study uses a qualitative research design where data is collected through classroom observation and questionnaires completed by teacher and students in elementary level students. Observation allows the researcher to view the teaching practice in action, while interviews have covered the teacher’s opinions and experiences with CLT. Data analysis involve observations and responses to establish major themes relating to the effectiveness of CLT in enhancing student learning and engagement. The participants of this study are an English teacher and 8 students. The findings are the teacher implements CLT at Language Center in five principles; interaction through active participation, meaningful communication via real-life tasks, prioritizing fluency over accuracy, a student-centered approach, and authentic materials for relevance. The teacher also views CLT as a positive teaching method. It is shown by the effectiveness in motivating students and improving students’ communicative competence.

Abstract

Students' mathematical abilities will only become material that follows a series of procedures without knowing its meaning if students' reasoning abilities are not developed. The purpose of the study was to determine the effect of the Guided Inquiry learning model on student learning outcomes on fraction material in grade V Elementary School. This type of research uses a quantitative approach. The design uses a quasi-experimental design with an equivalent control group design. The sample consists of 2 groups, namely group 1 using conventional learning, group 2 using the Guided inquiry model. The research instrument was in the form of test scores (pre-test scores and post-test scores). Data analysis techniques in the form of normality test, homogeneity test, t-test. The results showed that there was an influence of the Guided Inquiry learning model on the student learning outcomes of fractions in grade V Elementary School with an average of 74.84%.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the perception of vocational school students in learning narrative texts by using animated movies. This study is qualitative research with the questionnaire and interview as the instruments of collecting data. The participants of this study were 36 students of a state vocational school in Pati regency, Indonesia majoring in the Financial & Institutional Accounting Program. The results of the questionnaire show that in general, 81.57% of the participants have a positive perception of the use of animated movies in learning narrative texts. Meanwhile, 18.43% of the participants have a negative perception. The results of interviews conducted with five students also reveal that most of the students agree on the use of animated movies because they help and support the learning process and are very easy to understand. From this research on the use of animated movies, teachers are suggested to use this media in teaching narrative texts. Keywords: Perception; Narrative Texts; Animated Movie.

Abstract

Nursing services have an influence on the quality of health services. A nurse has the responsibility to provide good performance when providing health services, where they are in direct contact with consumers. Nursing performance is based on established guidelines and standards which serve as a reference in health services. The aim of this research was to determine the relationship between nurse performance and patient satisfaction at Hospital X, Semarang Regency. The type of research used is quantitative with observational analytics. The research used a cross sectional approach. The population in this study were 1,653 inpatients in 2023 at Hospital X Semarang Regency. The sample for this study was 95 patients undergoing inpatient treatment at Hospital X Semarang Regency in 2023, calculated using the Slovin formula. The results of the study showed that the performance of nurses at Hospital Meanwhile, patient satisfaction at Hospital From this research, there is a relationship between nurse performance and patient satisfaction with a significant value (p-value) of 0.001 (<0.05).

Abstract

Kabupaten Kudus sebagai salah satu kabupaten di Jawa Tengah Indonesia mempunyai potensi wisata yang cukup tinggi, baik wisata alam, wisata religi, maupun wisata kuliner. Kabupaten Kudus memiliki kondisi geologi yang dikelilingi pegunungan sehingga terdapat banyak lokasi wisata yang indah dan potensial. Selain itu, latar belakang kota wali menjadikan Kabupaten Kudus memiliki banyak tempat religi yang selalu dikunjungi oleh para peziarah. Jumlah wistawan baik dalam negeri maupun manca negara yang datang ke Kabupaten Kudus terus meningkat setiap tahunnya. Akan tetapi, potensi wisata yang sedemikian besar belum diimbangi dengan sumber daya pariwisata yang baik. Masih banyak staf dan karyawan yang bekerja di daerah wisata belum memiliki kemampuan bahasa Inggris yang memadai untuk berinteraksi dengan wisatawan manca negara. Sedangkan Dinas Kebudayaan dan Pariwisata Kabupaten Kudus tidak sepenuhnya mempunyai sumber daya untuk meningkatkan kemampuan staf mereka. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan solusi untuk memecahkan masalah tersebut. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan bahasa Inggris terutama English for Tourism Paguyuban Duta Kabupaten Kudus Paguduwiku), Saka Pariwisata Kwarcab Kudus dan Staf Dinas Kebudayaan dan Pariwisata Kabupaten Kudus melalui pelatihan bahasa Inggris English for Tourism berbasis Role Play Communication Games. Kegiatan pengabdian  dilaksanakan dalam lima tahap, yaitu pre-test English proficiency, pelatihan English for Tourism berbasis Role Play Communication Games, praktek lisan on the spot, posts test English proficiency, dan evaluasi. Melalui kegiatan pelatihan English for Tourism berbasis Role Play dan Communication Games ini diharapkan para staf  Dinas Kebudayaan dan Pariwisata Kabupaten Kudus akan memiliki kemampuan bahasa Inggris English for Tourism yang baik sehingga mereka dapat berinteraksi dengan wisatawan manca negara dan dapat meningkatkan pariwisata di Kabupaten Kudus. Hasil kegiatan ini menunjukkan bahwa para peserta pelatihan dari unsur-unsur Paguyuban Duta Kabupaten Kudus Paguduwiku), Saka Pariwisata Kwarcab Kudus dan Staf Dinas Kebudayaan dan Pariwisata Kabupaten Kudus sangat memerlukan pelatihan semacam ini. Kemampuan berkomunikasi dalam bahasa Inggris untuk menyambut wisatawan manca negara sangat dibutuhkan. Hal ini senada dengan usaha yang dilakukan untuk menginternasionalkan aset-aset wisata di Kabupaten Kudus.

Abstract

The teaching internship program is designed to help students develop into professional educators and effectively implement their lesson plans. During the 2024/2025 academic year, English student teachers from Muria Kudus University participated in a teaching internship program at SMA 1 Mejobo. However, implementing their lesson plans in a real classroom was not easy. The objective of this research is to determine whether English student teachers face difficulties when implementing their lesson plans during the teaching internship. This study uses a qualitative descriptive approach with a case study method. The data sources consist of seven participants from seventh-semester English Education students who are participating in the teaching internship program at SMA 1 Mejobo and were selected using purposive sampling (homogeneous). Data were collected through two instruments: questionnaires and semi-structured interviews, then analyzed using thematic analysis, and verified by the participants. The results of the study revealed that student teachers still face several difficulties, such as a lack of experience, limited time, poor classroom control, inadequate teaching media, and so on. The researcher concluded that student teachers had difficulties in implementing lesson plans during teaching internship program
