Teaching Practice program (PPL) must be done by the students of English Education Department of Muria Kudus University as one of the requirements to finish their study of under graduate program in English Education. PPL implementation is done in some schools that have been determined before by the department. PPL is a training program for students which offer an opportunity for the students to apply the theory and their knowledge about education as well as the implementation of English teaching directly in front of the students at schools where they have to do the PPL. As teacher trainees, the English Education Department students, do not have sufficient experience in managing a class, especially in providing effective instruction in the classroom. Providing good instructions is one of the important aspects of the success of the learning process, so it is important for teachers to understand how to organize the lesson and provide classroom interaction in a proper and effective way. The focus of this study is to explain how the classroom management techniques applied by the teacher candidates (PPL) in teaching and learning and the improvements of the students during the lesson. As the PPL program manager, Department of English Education of UMK can use this study as an evaluation by understanding the weaknesses and problems experienced by students teacher during teaching practice program, so the Department will be able to make better achievement through the implementation of the program so that students will be well prepared to carry out the teaching process in the classroom.

The fourth semester students of the English department of Muria Kudus University are suggested to take Academic Field Trip in order to provide the studentssome experiences outside of their campus. By observing the English Departmentstudents interactions with English speakers from other countries, I expect that I can gainclear illustrations on their abilities in maintaining good conversation by applyingappropriate speech functions in the conversation. The main purposes of the study aredescribing the speech functions chosen by the students and the foreigners, explaining therole relation enactment among them, and also describing the contribution of speechfunctions in language education. The data of this study are transcriptions of the studentsand the foreigners oral communication. I classify the speech functions produced by theparticipants into the speech functions classes introduced by Eggins and Slade. The resultsof the study over the four conversations show that the opening speech functions areproduced mostly by the students; it indicates that the students play as the initiators. Theforeigners show their respect and appreciation to the students as they respond to thestudent initiations by producing more responding and continuing moves. The number ofturns and moves produced by the students and foreigners are quite similar; it indicatesthat both of the participants get the same chance to take their roles. The foreigners astourists show they interest to some tourism objects by describing to the students someobjects they have visited and by comparing to their own country. Learning languagecannot be separated from its culture, therefore speech functions and culturalunderstanding should be taught in the classroom as part of language discourse.

Teachers should be aware that it is part of teachers’ primary duty to cope with every student. Most students can learn a foreign language to some level, but there are many reasons why their improvements are not achieved significantly.

The issue of TPACK (Technology Pedagogical Content Knowledge) offers a problem solution for teachers who are interested in implementing blended learning. Education and Technology have become an important aspect in every student's daily life beyond the school and within the classroom. Experts now create software that facilitates teachers in creating animated videos which contain pedagogical knowledge. One of them is Videoscribe which can be used to present learning content by combining interesting images, sounds, and graphs to attract students to enjoy the learning process. The features provided by this software are varied, they enable teachers to design learning media that can be adjusted to meet the goal of the lesson. This paper will elaborate on how teachers can design an interesting and engaging learning media to meet the students’ needs and to achieve learning objectives by using the software.

The attention in Listening processes has switched from the text to the listener, from the process of identification to the process of understanding, and from the decontextualized memorization of definitions to developing language competence of students. This conception is then supported by the theory of congnitive constructivism which sees learning as the process of constructing new knowledge. This paper aims to explore activities which can be applied to develop listening language skills in a context of authentic learning within constructivist learning approach. The learning activity will be based on the features of constructivism which views learning as an active process and knowledge is not absorbed passively but it is invented by the learners. By integrating the top-down and bottom-up listening processes and cognitive constructifist learning activities, this process will facilitate students in elaborating their previous knowledge and constructing new knowledge.
