Abstract

Pengabdian ini membahas peran Bapak Heriyanto, seorang pedagang kecil di desa Jati Karya, yang menjalankan bisnis penjualan daging ayam potong sejak tahun 2020. Mitra ini menghadapi tantangan biaya transport dan upah pekerja, namun berhasil memperoleh keuntungan bersih sebesar Rp 170.000,-/hari atau Rp 5.100.000/bulan. Pengabdian juga menyoroti potensi peningkatan pendapatan mitra melalui penerapan teknologi tepat guna, khususnya mesin pencabut bulu ayam. Dengan menggunakan mesin tersebut, mitra dapat membeli ayam hidup lebih murah (Rp 15.000/kg), memotong, dan membersihkannya sendiri. Kelebihan dari hasil jeroan juga menjadi faktor peningkatan keuntungan, di mana harga jual jeroan sebanyak Rp 1.200 x 18 ekor ayam = Rp 21.600,-. Oleh karena itu, penggunaan mesin pencabut bulu ayam dapat memberikan tambahan keuntungan sebesar Rp 2.000/kg x 30 kg = Rp 60.000 ditambah Rp 21.600 = Rp 81.600/hari. Tambahan keuntungan dalam satu bulan mencapai Rp 2.430.000,-. Analisis biaya menunjukkan antusiasme mitra dalam mengadopsi teknologi ini untuk meningkatkan profitabilitasnya. Mesin pencabut bulu ayam diharapkan dapat menjadi solusi efektif untuk memperbesar keuntungan mitra. Dengan demikian, pendekatan inovatif ini dapat memberikan kontribusi positif terhadap ekonomi lokal, sekaligus meningkatkan kesejahteraan Bapak Heriyanto dan masyarakat desa Jati Karya secara keseluruhan..

Abstract

The high price of chicken feed makes it difficult for farmers to develop their livestock business. This is also experienced by Mr. Pardamiyan Siregar, who has 50 chickens of various ages. Chicken is a type of livestock that relatively eats any kind of food, including grains, green vegetables, and household leftovers. It is easy to feed chickens, including the food scraps mentioned above, but it is not always available, and the amount is minimal. Therefore, this service partner must provide feed through ground corn and fine rice bran purchased at animal food stores. The cost that partners must incur is IDR 47,000 per day or IDR 1,410,000 per month. The partner wishes to reduce the feed cost by grinding the round corn purchased from the store. The desire is based on the price difference between round and ground corn. The price of round corn is only IDR 6,000/kg, while ground corn is IDR 8,000/kg so that the partner can save IDR 2,000/kg in feed costs. If the amount of ground corn given to livestock is 3 kg, then partners can save IDR 8,000 daily. The high cost of feed procurement and the promising profit prospects encourage partners to collaborate with the implementation team to find solutions to the problems faced by partners. According to the implementation team, the most appropriate solution to overcome partner problems is the provision of assistance with corn grinding machines. To achieve maximum success in helping partners, the program implementers arranged the following implementation steps: location surveys and interviews to explore the main problems, analyze the situation and conditions of the partner's business, determine solutions, prepare the implementation of machine manufacturing programs, machine grants, training, and program evaluation. The result of this service program is one unit of corn grinding machine with a capacity of 50 kg/hour. The machine uses a 1.5 hp electric motor drive with a grinder rotation of 180 rpm. The size of the corn grains produced ranges from 1 mm to 2 mm. This grain size allows it to be eaten by chickens (poultry) of all ages.

Abstract

Development of an Integrated Attendance System at the Private Senior High School (SMA) Nur Azizi Tanjung Morawa: Messenger API Integration to Improve Parent-Guardian Communication and Monitor Student Attendance in Real-Time. Advances in information and communication technology have influenced various aspects of life, including education. One technology implementation that is increasingly common is a Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) based attendance system. However, although this system provides the advantage of automatically recording student attendance, delays in providing information to parents regarding student attendance is a major obstacle. To overcome this problem, this research aims to develop and implement a messenger API in the attendance system at Nur Azizi Tanjung Morawa Private High School. This integration is expected to strengthen communication between schools and parents and monitor student attendance in real-time.

Abstract

Recent COVID-19 pandemic has cause change in human habit. Wearing a mask is a must health protocol according to Ministry of Health regulation. The regulation was announced since the pandemic shows significance rose in cases since May 2020. By using face recognition algorithm in Tensorflow by using CNN, this research purpose is to create an automatically access control gate that can filtered out people who wear mask and not wearing mask. The system will be implemented using Raspberry Pi 4 to control a servo that can be used to block a passageway/gate. Masked face detection in this research can detect face without mask up to 99.5% correct. While this program has a high capability in detection face without mask, this program didn’t have high capability in detecting face using mask which result only 93% correct and worsening when the face using mask having picture/motif on the surface of the mask to only 53% correct detection. Overall accuracy reach for 76%.

Abstract

The community service activity carried out in Sumber Mulyorejo Village, Binjai Timur Subdistrict, for business partners in the field of motorcycle repair technology is a collaboration between higher education institutions and the community to fulfill the requirements of the Tri Dharma Perguruan Tinggi (Three Pillars of Higher Education). This collaboration emphasizes technology transfer and ensures the availability of technology needed by the community. As part of this planned community service initiative, the technology transfer from the proposing team to the business partners also includes providing and enhancing the technical equipment already owned by the partners. In running their motorcycle repair businesses, the partners face challenges due to the limited equipment they possess. The incompleteness and simplicity of the technical equipment owned by the partners result in slow and low-quality completion of work for their customers. Several complaints have been raised by customers with the partner regarding the slow completion of work. As a result, the number of customers has decreased. If this situation continues to recur, there is a possibility that the partner may lose customers entirely, which would inevitably reduce the partner's income. To address this detrimental situation, improving and adding technical equipment have become necessary and an urgent priority. The outcomes of this community service activity include an increase in the partner's income in the workshop sector and the addition of new equipment, namely one air compressor unit and tools supporting motorcycle service and repair work.

Abstract

Pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk memanfaatkan teknologi Kecerdasan Buatan (AI) dalam proses penyusunan karya ilmiah bagi para siswa di SMA Unggulan Al-Azhar Medan. Di era digital saat ini, kemampuan menulis karya ilmiah merupakan kompetensi yang sangat penting untuk dikuasai oleh siswa. Namun, banyak siswa yang mengalami kesulitan dalam tahapan penyusunan, mulai dari pemilihan topik hingga penulisan dan pengeditan. Melalui pengabdian masyarakat khususnya dalam pelatihan pemanfaatan Artificial Intelligence (AI) diperkenalkan alat berbasis AI dengan memperhatikan penggunaan prompt yang dapat membantu siswa SMA Unggulan Al-Azhar Medan dalam mengidentifikasi tema, menyusun kerangka, serta menghasilkan konten berkualitas. Metode yang diterapkan mencakup demonstrasi langsung, sesi tanya jawab, dan praktik mandiri. Hasil dari kegiatan ini menunjukkan adanya peningkatan pemahaman siswa tentang proses penulisan ilmiah, serta kemampuan  dalam memanfaatkan teknologi AI sebagai alat bantu. Pelatihan pemanfaatan AI diharapkan dapat mempercepat dan mempermudah proses pembelajaran, serta menghasilkan karya ilmiah yang lebih baik di kalangan siswa. Kegiatan ini dapat memberikan kontribusi signifikan terhadap peningkatan kualitas pendidikan serta keterampilan menulis siswa di era digital dengan bimbingan guru di SMA Unggulan Al-Azhar Medan. Kegiatan ini juga dapat memberikan kontribusi jangka panjang pada pembentukan generasi siswa yang lebih adaptif, kreatif dan memiliki literasi yang tinggi di dalam teknologi serta dengan tetap menekankan aspek etika penggunaan AI, keaslian dengan pendampingan guru. Pelatihan ini diharapkan dapat mewujudkan budaya literasi digital yang positif di lingkungan sekolah, peningkatan kemampuan berpikir kritis serta terbentuknya generasi pelajar yang siap menghadapi tantangan akademik dan teknologi di masa depan

Abstract

The service partner Mrs. Tuti Lestari is a Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) player. The business field that the partner is engaged in is producing cassava chips. Her daily turnover is very small, only 20 kg of cassava or 10 kg of chips. This product is marketed in small stalls around the neighborhood and school canteens. The stalls and canteens retail in small plastic packages to the general public and school students. There is always a demand for more from retailers due to the large demand from the community. It is estimated that more than 60% of the additional demand was not met by the partner. The inability of partners to meet the demand for cassava chips from consumers is due to three reasons: First, partners do not have the extra manpower to handle the production of chips. If additional labor is forced, it will certainly reduce the partner's daily income. Second, to produce chips in large quantities, from the cassava slicing section, problems will arise. The results of slicing cassava are not uniformly thick and thin due to fatigue. Thus, there will be a decrease in the quality of chips (drop quality). Third, the partners do not have a cassava slicer or machine that can produce slices in a short time. The three factors above have caused partners to be unable to increase their chip production. This condition encourages partners to collaborate with the Medan State Polytechnic service team, to jointly solve the three problems that occur. To achieve the desired goals, the proposer uses the following methods as well as the stages of program implementation: Survey to the location to find out the real conditions and situation and then review the existing machine design to be adjusted to the needs of the partners, then the implementation of the manufacture of machine components and their assembly, followed by a machine performance test. If there are no obstacles to the next machine, grants and training are carried out to the partners, then no less important is the publication of activities in mass media and scientific journals. And finally reporting to the funder, in this case P3M. From the method plan that will be carried out, it is expected to produce output in the form of 1 unit of yam slicing machine with a capacity of 60 kg / hour and other outputs, namely publication of activities in scientific journals, mass media and YouTube.
