Abstract

The aim of this study is to examine the effect of the ready-to-work skills training offered by the Republic of Indonesia's Ministry of Social Affairs on urban poor people who are members of micro and small businesses to mitigate urban poverty. This research was conducted in Balikpapan City during the 2019 season. The empirical approach used is statistics that are descriptive. Data collection was performed by telephone interviews with job skills training program recipients. As a result, in the form of growing skills, the training programs offered to the urban poor and some micro and small enterprises had a positive effect and those who did not pursue their business were able to find work due to the training they got. The flaw of this preparation is linked to the training recipients' continuous level of ability such that they are not yet at the advanced level.

Abstract

Pengabdian ini membahas peran Bapak Heriyanto, seorang pedagang kecil di desa Jati Karya, yang menjalankan bisnis penjualan daging ayam potong sejak tahun 2020. Mitra ini menghadapi tantangan biaya transport dan upah pekerja, namun berhasil memperoleh keuntungan bersih sebesar Rp 170.000,-/hari atau Rp 5.100.000/bulan. Pengabdian juga menyoroti potensi peningkatan pendapatan mitra melalui penerapan teknologi tepat guna, khususnya mesin pencabut bulu ayam. Dengan menggunakan mesin tersebut, mitra dapat membeli ayam hidup lebih murah (Rp 15.000/kg), memotong, dan membersihkannya sendiri. Kelebihan dari hasil jeroan juga menjadi faktor peningkatan keuntungan, di mana harga jual jeroan sebanyak Rp 1.200 x 18 ekor ayam = Rp 21.600,-. Oleh karena itu, penggunaan mesin pencabut bulu ayam dapat memberikan tambahan keuntungan sebesar Rp 2.000/kg x 30 kg = Rp 60.000 ditambah Rp 21.600 = Rp 81.600/hari. Tambahan keuntungan dalam satu bulan mencapai Rp 2.430.000,-. Analisis biaya menunjukkan antusiasme mitra dalam mengadopsi teknologi ini untuk meningkatkan profitabilitasnya. Mesin pencabut bulu ayam diharapkan dapat menjadi solusi efektif untuk memperbesar keuntungan mitra. Dengan demikian, pendekatan inovatif ini dapat memberikan kontribusi positif terhadap ekonomi lokal, sekaligus meningkatkan kesejahteraan Bapak Heriyanto dan masyarakat desa Jati Karya secara keseluruhan..

Abstract

The high price of chicken feed makes it difficult for farmers to develop their livestock business. This is also experienced by Mr. Pardamiyan Siregar, who has 50 chickens of various ages. Chicken is a type of livestock that relatively eats any kind of food, including grains, green vegetables, and household leftovers. It is easy to feed chickens, including the food scraps mentioned above, but it is not always available, and the amount is minimal. Therefore, this service partner must provide feed through ground corn and fine rice bran purchased at animal food stores. The cost that partners must incur is IDR 47,000 per day or IDR 1,410,000 per month. The partner wishes to reduce the feed cost by grinding the round corn purchased from the store. The desire is based on the price difference between round and ground corn. The price of round corn is only IDR 6,000/kg, while ground corn is IDR 8,000/kg so that the partner can save IDR 2,000/kg in feed costs. If the amount of ground corn given to livestock is 3 kg, then partners can save IDR 8,000 daily. The high cost of feed procurement and the promising profit prospects encourage partners to collaborate with the implementation team to find solutions to the problems faced by partners. According to the implementation team, the most appropriate solution to overcome partner problems is the provision of assistance with corn grinding machines. To achieve maximum success in helping partners, the program implementers arranged the following implementation steps: location surveys and interviews to explore the main problems, analyze the situation and conditions of the partner's business, determine solutions, prepare the implementation of machine manufacturing programs, machine grants, training, and program evaluation. The result of this service program is one unit of corn grinding machine with a capacity of 50 kg/hour. The machine uses a 1.5 hp electric motor drive with a grinder rotation of 180 rpm. The size of the corn grains produced ranges from 1 mm to 2 mm. This grain size allows it to be eaten by chickens (poultry) of all ages.

Abstract

Elevators are a crucial vertical transportation system in multi-story buildings, and the use of an appropriate control system can enhance operational efficiency, comfort, and safety. This study aims to design a control system for a 3-floor elevator using a Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) OPTA FINDER, which offers advantages in flexibility and ease of programming. The design process involved creating a control system schematic, programming with ladder diagrams, and testing on a small-scale elevator model. The test results demonstrated that the system could operate the elevator with fast and accurate response in detecting floor positions, controlling automatic doors, and responding to emergency conditions. Furthermore, the PLC OPTA FINDER proved reliable in managing elevator system components and facilitating program modifications without requiring hardware changes. This control system also contributes to energy efficiency through optimized motor speed regulation. Thus, the implementation of the PLC OPTA FINDER provides an effective and safe solution for modern elevator control systems.

Abstract

AbstractReliability of the electric power system is a very important factor for PT PLN (Persero). As the population increases, the demand for quality electrical energy distribution must increase and become more reliable. In improving the quality of distribution system distribution, namely calculating the reliability index based on average interruption frequency (SAIFI) and average interruption duration (SAIDI). By analyzing the reliability of this distribution system, it can be seen whether the reliability of the TK-06 feeder is in accordance with applicable standards. The SAIDI-SAIFI value calculation method used is a manual calculation method using mathematical formulas. The level of reliability of the TK-06 Feeder distribution network system is said to be reliable in accordance with SPLN 68-2: 1986. Blackouts often occur due to disruption or maintenance. The potential loss of income due to blackouts in the distribution network of PT PLN (Persero) ULP Medan Baru is Rp 316,545,783. Abstrak Keandalan sistem tenaga listrik merupakan faktor yang sangat penting bagi PT PLN (Persero). Seiring dengan bertambahnya jumlah penduduk, maka permintaan penyaluran kualitas energi listrik harus semakin meningkat dan semakin andal. Dalam peningkatan kualitas penyaluran sistem distribusi yaitu perhitungan indeks keandalan berdasarkan frekuensi gangguan rata-rata SAIFI dan lama gangguan rata-rata SAIDI. Adanya analisa keandalan sistem distribusi ini, dapat diketahui keandalan pada penyulang TK-06 apakah sudah sesuai dengan standar yang berlaku. Adapun metode perhitungan nilai SAIDI-SAIFI yang digunakan adalah metode perhitungan manual dengan rumus-rumus matematis. Tingkat keandalan sistem jaringan distribusi Penyulang TK-06 dikatakan andal sesuai dengan SPLN 68-2 1986. Pemadaman sering terjadi diakibatkan oleh adanya gangguan maupun pemeliharaan. Adapun potensi kehilangan pendapatan akibat pemadaman pada jaringan distribusi PT PLN (Persero) ULP Medan Baru sebesar  Rp 316.545.783.

Abstract

The researcher wants to make a KWH meter monitoring tool with estimated usage costs so that the tools he makes can help the community to minimize costs in the electricity consumption area, especially in the workshop room located on the 1st floor of building C at Medan State Polytechnic. The long-term goal of this research is to develop an Internet of Things (IoT)--based KWH meter monitoring tool that can read current, voltage, frequency, power factor, and power consumption. This utilization shows the use of costs that have been incurred in real-time by displaying the results on the LCD and can also be from the user's mobile phone. In this study, the strategy used in the energy management framework was determined using SWOT analysis. From the results of the measurement and monitoring of electrical energy consumption obtained the results that, energy management is carried out by applying Standard Operating Procedures for the use of electrical energy in the electrical engineering workshop room in order to save more minimal energy consumption with a large error (Error) PZEM in measuring Voltage is 0.0198% in measuring Current is 0.612%. in measuring Cosphi is 0.01%. in measuring Frequency is 0.003%. in measuring Power is 0.183%. And the average measurement error rate is below 0.5%, namely 0.23%.

Abstract

Researchers want to make a kWh meter monitoring tool with estimated usage costs so that the tools made can help people to minimize costs in electricity usage. The purpose of this research is the creation of an IoT-based kWh meter monitoring tool that has the ability to read current, voltage, frequency, power factor and power usage that flows and shows the use of costs that have been used in real time with the display results on the LCD and also on the user's smartphone. In the reading results of usage costs (Rp) on the tool and PLN there is also a difference of Rp. 12,000, where the reading results on the tool are also lower than the results of the payment slip provided by PLN. The cost reading error rate on the tool is 4.4% with a reading accuracy rate of 95.6%.
