Abstract

Abstract

Indonesia faces a significant earthquake risk due to tectonic plate movement and volcanic activity. Most of these risks are borne by the housing sector which is highly vulnerable to damage from earthquakes. Although there have been standards and guidelines for earthquake-resistant homes, damage still often occurs due to a lack of public awareness and ability to implement proposed solutions. This caused a huge financial burden for the government in repairing and rebuilding houses. Education and knowledge about construction also play a role in the level of vulnerability of buildings to earthquakes. To address these issues, increasing youth awareness and understanding of earthquake mitigation and post-earthquake structure audits is essential. Through integrated training and educational programs, youth can become agents of change who play a role in spreading awareness of the importance of structural integrity checks for post-earthquake safety in their neighborhoods.

Abstract

The risk aspect is a key component of the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) infrastructure scheme. The study employed bibliometric analysis to shed light on research trends concerning risk aspects in PPP. The author focused on publication trends, co-authorship networks, local citation patterns, cluster analysis, and co-occurrence of key terms. In addition, the authors compiled a list of studies on the risk aspects of PPP infrastructure. Using bibliometric data from 356 Scopus-indexed publications, this study identifies the leading authors, nations, institutions, publishers, influential papers, and research topics related PPP infrastructure risk over the past decade (2014-2023). The findings reveal that from 2014 to 2017, research predominantly focused on risk factors, success criteria, development projects, contracts, toll roads, water supply, and social infrastructure. Between 2018 and 2020, the emphasis shifted towards risk assessment, risk analysis, risk management, and risk allocation. Since 2021, the research trends have evolved to include urban growth, investment, the private sector, partnership models, internet protocols, and intelligent systems. Future research on PPP infrastructure risk should incorporate technological concepts and business entity perspectives. This study also contextualizes its findings within the broader landscape of emerging markets in Asia and globally and highlights these trends in the Indonesian context.

Abstract

Physics learning at the senior high school (SMA) level still largely focuses on cognitive aspects and formula memorization, making it difficult for students to connect scientific concepts with real-life situations and local cultural contexts. This study aims to describe the forms of ethnoscience integration in STEAM-based (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics) Physics learning and to analyze its contribution to enhancing students’ scientific literacy and developing their 21st-century skills. This research employed a qualitative approach with a descriptive–exploratory design and was conducted at a public senior high school (SMA Negeri) in Subang Regency, West Java. Data were collected through participatory observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation, then analyzed thematically using the Miles and Huberman (2014) model with source and method triangulation. The findings revealed that ethnoscience integration was implemented through the use of local cultural phenomena—such as pottery making, traditional waterwheels, and simple irrigation systems—as contexts for STEAM-based project learning in Physics. The integration effectively facilitated the development of students’ scientific literacy, strengthened higher-order thinking skills, and fostered collaborative and communicative attitudes. In conclusion, STEAM-based Physics learning integrated with ethnoscience serves as an effective pedagogical innovation that bridges science and culture, enhances scientific literacy, and nurtures students’ character to become culturally grounded individuals who are well-prepared to face the challenges of the 21st century.

Abstract

Public-Private Partnership (PPP) schemes are increasingly adopted to address infrastructure financing constraints and to support sustainable development objectives. In PPP infrastructure research, semi-structured interviews are widely used to capture in-depth perspectives from key stakeholders. Despite their extensive application, systematic understanding of how these interviews are designed, implemented, and reported remains limited. This study examines the application of semi-structured interview methods in PPP infrastructure research through a systematic literature review of studies indexed in the Scopus and Web of Science databases. The review evaluates research approaches, interview mediums, data collection and analysis techniques, software utilization, interview duration, participant selection criteria, sampling strategies, data saturation, and practices related to rigor and trustworthiness. The findings indicate that semi-structured interviews are predominantly employed within qualitative research designs and are frequently combined with thematic analysis and qualitative data analysis software. Face-to-face interviews and purposive sampling of experienced PPP stakeholders emerge as the most common practices. However, the review also identifies notable inconsistencies in the definition and reporting of data saturation and qualitative rigor across studies. This study contributes to methodological advancement by providing a structured overview of current practices and highlighting areas where clearer and more consistent reporting is required. The findings offer practical guidance for researchers and practitioners seeking to strengthen methodological rigor and transparency in PPP infrastructure research.
