Abstract

This research was carried out in coral reef area at diving point Lekuan 2 in May 28th 2022 by using the Line Intercept Transect cencus method on 5 m and 10 m depth. The aims of this research is to know the coral reef condition at dive point Lekuan 2 and to know the domination index of coral reef in Lekuan 2 Dive point. The results showed that the coral ref condition at dive point Lekuan 2 were good category (58,19%) with low coral diversity index (2,41), moderate community stability and low coral dominance index.

Abstract

Alung Banua is a coral reef area in the Bunaken National Park area which has coral reef formations and very interesting types of biota. With steep, wall-type reef topography, this area is named after the village of Alungbanua. This research aims to 1) determine the types of mega benthic fauna that inhabit the Alungbanua coral reef area, 2) to determine the diversity and dominance of the mega bentic fauna that inhabits the Alung banua coral reef area. The belt transect method was used to obtain data regarding the mega benthic fauna. Keywords: Alungbanua, Mega benthic.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the growth rate and survival rate of coral fragments transplanted into plant media in the Mokotamba Pulisan area, North Sulawesi. Determination of the location for planting media is carried out based on the results of observations in the field. The method used is the frame method, where naturally broken coral fragments are attached to sondo-shaped pieces of iron, with each fragment transplanted facing the direction of the incoming sunlight. The initial research results were carried out by measuring the initial length of coral fragments in each unit of planting media and will then be measured periodically every four months to obtain the growth rate and survival rate of transplanted coral fragments. Key words: coral transplantation, monitoring, conservation, Mokotamba, Likupang, Indonesia

Abstract

Palaes Village possesses significant mangrove ecotourism potential as a buffer destination for the Likupang National Strategic Tourism Area; however, its performance remains low. This study aims to formulate a sustainable ecotourism development strategy by identifying potential opportunities, analyzing strategic factors (SWOT), and developing a priority digital marketing strategy. A descriptive qualitative method was employed. Data were collected via observation, in-depth interviews with purposive informants, and documentation, then validated using triangulation. Data were analyzed using the SWOT framework, which was further developed by the 4A1I and CBET frameworks. The findings reveal a fundamental paradox. The destination possesses significant Strengths in Attraction and Amenities, including the availability of homestays and MSME Kiosks. However, these are nullified by critical structural Weaknesses. These Weaknesses are identified as a severe deficit in Accessibility (poor roads), a complete failure in Ancillary Services (promotion), and institutional fragility (governance). The development strategy must be CBET-based, striking a balance among the conservation, economic, and social pillars. Two priority strategies are recommended: infrastructure advocacy to improve Accessibility and the adoption of Digital Marketing, rebranding the destination as ‘Educative Ecotourism’.
