Abstract

The concept of an environmentally friendly library office can cut operating costs. The impact of excessive energy consumption is one of the factors behind the need to conceptualize library space with the green office principle. Librarians as the main actors who manage the library, must be trained and have the competence to realize the green office. In the context of college library space, the green office can be explained as a concept for managing an environmentally friendly work environment and reducing the adverse effects of space building on the campus environment. The management in question includes: designing, building, and maintaining rooms to increase productivity for the inhabitants of the library. The library office is designed to collaborate with the surrounding environment whose activities are carried out with environmentally friendly principles. The goal is that the work environment in the library will be a comfortable, conducive, clean, shady, beautiful and healthy place for the knowledge-takers who are in it. Some programs that can be done include representative buildings, flexible space design, energy efficiency, power management features; saving water; resources efficiency; green information technology; physical design; waste management; air quality; minimize noise; space design; air freshener; or utilizing scrap paper. Abstract

This study discusses the understanding of public policy efforts toward improving the quality of democracy in the digital era. We chose the design of this study as a qualitative design by relying on secondary data in the form of published journals and books, and websites that actively discuss public policy issues in the technology era as part of efforts to increase democracy. The data we collect from some sources will then be analyzed under a phenomenological approach, attempting to understand a question from several existing data. The process involves a data coding system, data interpretation, and carefully evaluating the data to understand relevant to answering the problem. Based on the data we have discussed, we conclude that the understanding of public services towards improving the quality of democracy in the digital era is a public service arranged in such a way by relying on data or electronic government, where every agency has digital services. This is done to transform government services using technology ready to serve its citizens without boundaries and time

Abstract

This paper discussed the efforts of artificial intelligence to support learning towards improving high-quality outcomes through proving the results of field studies. The author believes that learning in the era of modern technology is appropriate for educators, especially teachers, to better adapt to technological developments, especially in the field of Artificial Intelligence, so that learning can be carried out with the help of technology. For this reason, the author has searched for data on this discussion from relevant and valid literature sources to answer hypotheses and problems. We have thoroughly reviewed this study with secondary data considering that this study is to gain an understanding that requires scientific evidence from previous studies. So that the data we have collected can be summarized as valid study answers, we try to examine it first. We carry out a phenomenological approach to get answers from several existing data that we analyze, code, and understand to get valid data findings. As a qualitative study, we also design the results of this study as a qualitative descriptive report with previous literature reviews, especially in the field of Artificial Intelligence and learning with human learning in the era of all computers. So based on our goal, we conclude that artificial intelligence technology is a learning method that helps achieve maximum and effective results. We admit that this technology cannot assess the role of teachers because technology does help humans achieve optimal learning outcomes by the results of the technology that was designed. Hopefully, these results are helpful in many learning contexts.

Abstract

Internal problems among the human resources in each library must exist. To achieve service excellence and superior library requires cooperation. Cooperation among individuals there is a need of every library. Solid team work is the key to success in managing the library. The practice of cooperation among individuals in the library can be assessed based on aspects of social relations and the exchange of knowledge.

This article is to discuss the strategies to improve the competency of informationliteracy for college students and explain the benefits. Abstract

A strong correlation exists between reading ability and writing ability. Readingis the window of the world. To produce quality writing then requires the process ofinternalization of knowledge by reading. Reading can build a person’s character,ranging from the appearance of taste, then there is interest, created habits, untilfinally formed the character of reading. Subsequently writing becomes a process ofexternalization of knowledge, from what is thought then poured it into writing. Writingmedia can be either printed documents or through online documents. Thus, writing isessentially a process of thinking. Critical thinking and problem-solving skills are theoutputs of competence that a person must have after he reads.

Abstract

This article discusses the representation of library spaceas a space for pragmatic and ideological contestations. The methodology used here was qualitative by observation, interview and documentation. The study found that pragmatically, space in library can be defined by aspects of function of space, requirement for information, availability of WiFi facility, and phys-ical material. Meanwhile, in ideological contestation, library space can be defined by aspects of historical space and paradoxical space.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui pemanfaatan Facebook sebagai media promosi Kantor Perpustakaan dan Arsip Daerah Kabupaten Semarang. Nama akun Facebook tersebut adalah Buletin Pustaka. Penelitian ini menggunakanpendekatan kualitatif dengan metode studi kasus. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan wawancara, observasi langsung, studi literatur, dan dokumentasi. Pemilihan informan dilakukan dengan teknik purposive sampling berdasarkan kriteria-kriteria yang telah ditetapkan. Hasil penelitianmenunjukkan bahwa pemanfaatan Facebook sebagai media promosi di Kantor Perpustakaan dan Arsip Daerah Kabupaten Semarang cukup efektif. Hal ini bisa dilihat dari banyaknya respon positif dari pemustaka atau teman Facebook terhadap keberadaan Facebook Buletin Pustaka dan informasi-informasi yang ada di dalamnya. Keberadaan Facebook telah memberikan kemudahan akses informasi bagi pemustaka atau teman Facebook. Selain itu, Facebook juga bermanfaat bagi pemustaka atau teman Facebook untuk berinteraksi atau berkomunikasi dengan pemustaka,begitupun sebaliknya. Hendaknya Facebook Buletin Pustaka dapat dijadikan media resmi Kantor Perpustakaan dan Arsip Daerah KabupatenSemarang karena bermanfaat dalam menunjang kegiatan promosi di instansi tersebut. Meskipun cukup efektif, pemanfaatan Facebook sebagai media promosi perlu ditingkatkan lagi. Salah satu caranya dengan memanfaatkanberbagi menu Facebook yang tersedia. Masih banyak menu Facebook yang belum dimanfaatkan untuk kegiatan promosi. Admin harus lebih sering memperbarui informasi-informasi tentang Kantor Perpustakaan dan Arsip Daerah Kabupaten Semarang. Misalnya, layanan, kegiatan, koleksi, dan terbitan yang dimiliki. Selain itu, admin dapat mengubah bentuk akun Facebook Buletin Pustaka menjadi sebuah grup atau pages Facebook sehingga komunikasi yang terjadi tidak hanya antara admin (pustakawan) dengan pemustaka atau teman Facebook, tetapi juga antar pemustaka. Penelitian ini dapat dilakukan dengan metode lain, seperti studi komparatif atau studi korelatif. Penelitian ini bisa juga dikaji dari aspek lain, misalnya komunikasi.

Abstract

This paper provides a conceptual understanding of the differences between the librarian certification and the librarian competency test, the role of the SKKNI Library, and offers the librarian preparedness strategy. Librarians as an important component in the digital information ecosystem play a role in encouraging the transformation of knowledge-based intelligent Indonesian society. In building a digital library, it must be supported by librarians who have competence in the library field based on the SKKNI Library. The role of the SKKNI in the library sector is as a basis for regulation in increasing the competence of Indonesian librarians, as a benchmark for the performanceof librarians, as a national reference for organizing education and training, as well as competency tests in the context of librarian competency certification. The SKKNI based librarian readiness strategy is the librarian must use the SKKNI Library as a reference in developing librarians’ competenciesand careers to improve their performance and productivity. A review of the SKKNI in the field of digital ecosystem based library needs to be done to analyze the discrepancies that have been made and improve the scope of competencies that are adjusted to the development of digital technology.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana pemanfaatan blog (weblog) sebagai sarana knowledge sharing bagi mahasiswa S1 Jurusan Ilmu Perpustakaan Universitas Diponegoro. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode deskriptif kualitatif dengan jenis studi kasus. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah sembilan orang informan yang terdiri dari delapan orang mahasiswa Jurusan Ilmu Perpustakaan dan seorang pemilik blog. Penentuaninforman dalam penelitian ini menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Pengumpulan data dilakukan menggunakan observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi.Data yang diperoleh selama penelitian menunjukkan hasil bahwa blog memberikan dampak positif bagi mahasiswa dan dosen. Bagi mahasiswa dengan adanya blog, mereka lebih mudah mencari materi perkuliahan yang tidak disampaikan oleh dosen ketika di kelas. Adanya blog bagi dosen membuat pekerjaannya lebih terbantu, karena mahasiswa sebelumnya telah mempelajarimateri yang diunggah di dalam blog. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa sebagian besar mahasiswa telah mampu memanfaatkan blog sebagai sarana knowledge sharing guna menunjang kegiatan perkuliahan mereka seperti berinteraksi dengan pengguna lainnya mengenai informasi terbaruberkaitan dengan kegiatan perkuliahan dan pengumpulan tugas maupun untuk mencari referensi tambahan. Pemanfaatan blog dirasa belum maksimal dan masih dapat ditingkatkan dengan penambahan bandwidth di area hotspot kampus, mengenalkan fitur-fitur penting blog agar dapat dimanfaatkan lebih optimal oleh mahasiswa dan pemilik blog menunjuk asisten khusus untuk membantumengelola blog, agar blog lebih optimal penggunaannya untuk mahasiswa.Kata kunci: Blog, Weblog, Knowledge Sharing, S1 Jurusan Ilmu Perpustakaan
