Abstract

Pramuka Island is one of the islands in the Seribu Islands which has a number of marine ecosystems such as seagrass and macrozoobenthos. The aim of this research is to determine the relationship between seagrass density and macrozoobenthos abundance. This research was carried out by applying the purposive sampling method to determine research locations at 3 stations and 3 plots with 50 m transect lines and Pearson Product Moment or simple correlation analysis to determine the relationship between seagrass density and macrozoobenthos abundance. The seagrass species found on Pramuka Island form mixed vegetation with 5 seagrass species and the highest density is Thalassia hemprichii. The macrozoobenthos found included the Holothuroidea, Bivalvia and Gastropod classes with the highest abundance being the Holothuroidea class. The relationship between seagrass density and macrozoobenthos abundance shows a strong relationship with a correlation value of 0.997 and shows a positive (+) linear direction, meaning that the higher the seagrass density value, the higher the macrozoobenthos abundance.

Abstract

Mapsin adalah Mari Belajar Pengolahan Hasil Perikanan merupakan media pembelajaran mata pelajaran di bidang pengolahan hasil perikanan. Media pembelajaran sangat berperan penting dalam proses pembelajaran supaya proses pembelajaran dapat berlangsung dengan baik dan lancar, agar siswa tidak merasa bosan, pembelajaran lebih menarik. Salah Satu media pembelajaran berbasis Android merupakan inovasi di bidang pendidikan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk membantu pemahaman konsep peserta didik di bidang pengolahan hasil perikanan baik itu pengetahuan maupun keterampilan. Media Pembelajaran ini didesain supaya dapat dipahami oleh peserta didik dengan adanya media pembelajaran yang menarik dan menyenangkan. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan metode DBR (Design-Based Research) yang bertujuan untuk mendapatkan teori dan praktik baru yang menghasilkan proses pembelajaran yang alami. Hasil penelitian berupa aplikasi media pembelajaran MAP-SIN berbasis Android-Based yang telah dilakukan pengujian kepada 15 mahasiswa melalui teknik purposive sampling dengan memperhatikan aspek pengujian usability dan functionality aplikasi untuk menghasilkan produk yang mudah digunakan serta fungsi yang berjalan sesuai konsep.

Abstract

Research on the utilization of maggot feed (Hermetia illucens) as an alternative feed for the growth of snakehead fish (Channa striata) fry is rarely conducted until now. Therefore, observation of using maggot feed in this research is necessary to obtain the appropriate usage techniques. This study aims to determine the effect of adding maggot feed (H. illucens) on the growth of snakehead fish fry (C. striata). The research follows a completely randomized design (CRD) with 4 treatments and 1 replication. The treatments in this study consist of Treatment 1 as the control with 100% commercial feed, Treatment 2 with 25% maggot meal and 75% commercial feed, Treatment 3 with 50% maggot meal and 50% commercial feed, and Treatment 4 with 75% maggot meal and 25% commercial feed. The size of the snakehead fish fry is 5-7 cm, and they are placed in Container Boxes with a stocking density of 10 fish per treatment. Test feeds for Treatments B, C, and D are prepared by mixing commercial feed and 1% egg white as a binder, while the control feed is prepared using 100% maggot feed with egg white. The test fish are reared for 28 days and fed the test feed three times a day. The research parameters consist of specific growth rate (SGR), absolute weight growth, absolute length growth, and fish feed conversion ratio (FCR). The provision of maggot feed with good content results in optimum growth of snakehead fish fry. The optimum results are obtained in Treatment C.

Abstract

Pengolahan hasil samping menjadi solusi untuk permasalahan limbah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektifitas pada formulasi sabun dari hasil samping pengalengan ikan. Hasil samping pengalengan sebelum digunakan sebagai bahan baku pembuatan sabun diolah terlebih dahulu melalui proses pre-treatment. Adsorben yang digunakan sebagai media filtrasi dalam mengkondisikan minyak ikan yaitu adsorben kombinasi antara arang aktif dan zeolite. Penelitian ini menggunakan analisis data secara kuantitatif dan dijelaskan secara deskriptif. Sabun pembersih padat minyak ikan diuji melalui proses uji hedonik dengan jumlah 25 orang dengan menggunakan sabun komersil sebagai kontrol. Adsorben yang dipilih berdasarkan penerimaan uji hedonik dan penilaian uji gores (streak plate method) karena keefektifannya dalam membunuh kuman selama 60 menit. Minyak hasil samping pengalengan ikan dapat digunakan sebagai bahan baku dalam pembuatan produk sabun pembersih.

Abstract

Merak Kecil Island is an emerging marine tourism destination in Cilegon City, encompassing an area of 0.76 hectares, located in the waters of the Sunda Strait within Pulomerak District. This research was conducted over a one-month period, from January to February 2024, involving three sampling stations. The study aimed to analyze tourism suitability parameters, calculate the area's carrying capacity, and develop strategies for ecotourism development on Merak Kecil Island, Cilegon City. Data collection was carried out through field observations and measurements of regional parameters, including environmental, physical, and chemical data. These were supplemented by data analysis utilizing the Tourism Suitability Index (TSI), Carrying Capacity (CC) calculations, and a SWOT analysis derived from interviews conducted via questionnaires. The results indicated that the Tourism Suitability Index for recreational activities was 86% at Station 1, 84% at Station 2, and 78% at Station 3, all of which fall under the category of "Very Suitable" (S1). The calculated carrying capacity of Merak Kecil Island was approximately 106 visitors per day, ensuring a balance between visitor comfort and the island's ecological preservation. Furthermore, 15 strategic recommendations were formulated through a SWOT matrix analysis.

Abstract

The Cikadal mangrove forest area is part of the Ciletuh-Palabuhanratu Geopark in Mandrajaya Village. The area of ​​this mangrove forest is 5 ha and has been reforested. The purpose of this research is to describe the community structure of mangrove plants after reforestation and the participation of the community in the Ciletuh-Palabuhanratu Geopark. Mangrove structure data collected using PCQ (Point Centered Quarter Method) as well as a questionnaire for community knowledge and participation in managing mangroves. The results showed that there were two types of mangroves in this area, namely Avicinnea officinalis and Rhizophora apiculata. The results of the Important Value Index with the highest score being 182.7, Rhizophora apiculata while for Avicinnea officinalis was 117.3. Knowledge of local communities about mangroves and their conservation and local community participation is in the medium-high category.

Abstract

Cemara Beach in Banyuwangi Regency has a unique mangrove ecosystem with a river flow that limits the tidal area with the land behind it. This study aims to determine the structure and composition of mangroves in Cemara Beach and its zoning. The method used is a vegetation survey with a transect plot. Data were analyzed using ecological indices and zoning illustrated from the results of vegetation surveys and observations. The results show that the Casuarina equisetifolia species has the highest important value index (IVI) in tree-level vegetation with an IVI value of 128.29%, while the highest IVI at the sapling level is owned by the Rhizophora mucronata species of 86.72% and the Acanthus ilicifolius species of 64.41% at the seedling level. The species diversity index (H') and dominance index (D) of mangroves in Cemara Beach are classified as moderate with average values ​​of 1.21 and 0.35. Then the species evenness index (E) of mangroves in Cemara Beach is included in the high category with an average E value approaching one at 0.78, while the species richness index (R) is classified as very low with an average value of 0.93. The zoning formed in mangrove vegetation in Cemara Beach is in sequence from sea to land, namely Casuarina equisetifolia, Rhizophora mucronata, Acanthus ilicifolius, Avicennia alba, Sonneratia alba, and Excoecaria agallocha. These findings suggest the need for targeted conservation and rehabilitation strategies that consider the natural zonation and dominance patterns of mangrove species to maintain the ecological balance of Cemara Beach.

Abstract

Male betta fish (Betta sp.) have a high commercial value due to their superior aesthetic qualities compared to females. Sex reversal applications to produce male populations would provide higher profits for ornamental fish breeders. Synthetic steroid hormones are commonly used for sex reversal to induce masculinization. However, synthetic hormones have been banned in aquaculture due to their negative environmental impacts. Therefore, alternative natural and environmentally friendly substances, such as honey, are needed. This study aimed to immerse betta fish fry (Betta sp.) in tikung honey to enhance the percentage of males. The research was conducted experimentally using a completely randomized design with five treatments (P0, P1, P2, P3, P4) and three replications each. The experiment involved immersing 5-day-old betta fry in tualang honey at predetermined doses for each treatment. Treatment P0 served as the control group without honey immersion, while treatments P1, P2, P3, and P4 involved tikung honey immersion at doses of 5, 7, 9, and 11 ml/L, respectively. The results showed that the immersion of betta fry in tikung honey significantly influenced the increase in the percentage of males (P<0,05). The post hoc LSD test revealed a significant difference (P<0,05) between the control group (P0) and all other treatments (P1, P2, P3, and P4). The highest percentage of males was observed in treatment P2 (67.88±10.65%). Based on the findings of this study, the immersion of betta fish fry in tikung honey can effectively increase the percentage of males.
