Abstract

Aceh is a region that applies Islamic law to all lines of government, including worship and mu'amalah. The Qanun on Sharia Financial Institutions (LKS) has been in effect since January 2019 and includes Sharia Financial Institutions. As of January 2022, there are still many cooperatives in Aceh that have not converted to sharia principles. Considering this situation, this study aims to examine the existence of the Sharia Supervisory Board (DPS) by analyzing its role and influence on sharia cooperatives in Aceh. This study employed a qualitative method, utilizing Islamic economics theory. Data were collected by means of interviews, questionnaires, and document studies. Interviews and questionnaires were carried out with respondents from the Aceh Sharia Council, the Aceh Cooperatives and SMEs Office, and the Cooperative Supervisory Board. Qanun, journal articles, and other documents relevant to the discussion were analyzed. The findings indicate that cooperatives in Aceh consist of Savings and Loans Cooperatives, Savings and Loans Units, Sharia Savings and Loans and Financing Cooperatives, and Sharia Savings and Loans and Financing Units. The number of DPS in Aceh as of 2023 is 214. The DPS has played a role in accelerating the conversion of sharia cooperatives by making several efforts while also facing various challenges and obstacles. From an Islamic economics perspective, the existence of the DPS also has an influence on increasing the conversion of sharia cooperatives in Aceh. However, the number of sharia cooperatives is still very low, only 6% of the total number of cooperatives operating in Aceh. Nevertheless, DPS still has an economic impact on the development of the sharia economy, which is an implementation of the Qanun LKS.

Abstract

In English as a Foreign Language (EFL) classroom settings, the rapid evolution of digital technology has had a substantial impact on educational methodologies. This paper investigates the potential of social media to improve EFL blended learning instruction, with a particular emphasis on the higher education context of Indonesia. Innovative tools for promoting student engagement, motivation, and autonomous learning are available on social media platforms, including Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube. Nevertheless, the implementation of these social media platforms also presents obstacles, such as potential privacy concerns, distractions, and unequal access to digital resources. This investigation examines the current body of literature regarding the utilization of social media in EFL blended learning purposes. Social media can significantly improve the EFL learning experience by offering flexible, interactive, and engaging learning opportunities when strategically implemented, according to the results. The paper concludes with suggestions for policymakers and educators to facilitate the successful integration of social media into EFL education, thereby guaranteeing that technological advancements have a beneficial impact on student learning outcomes.the other.

Abstract

This study explores the significance of discourse in the field of gender studies, with a specific emphasis on the ways in which language shapes and impacts perceptions of gender. The study highlights the influence of power dynamics within language, illustrating how communication strengthens conventional gender norms and prejudices. However, the substantial amount of research in this field posed difficulties in attaining a thorough understanding. Although numerous studies specifically position their work within the framework of discourse analysis, the various methodologies employed hinder a cohesive function of discourse analysis as a means of examining language and gender. This paper offers a detailed analysis of relevant theoretical frameworks, findings and discussions to gain a comprehensive understanding of how language and gender narratives interact. The study then expanded on current knowledge of gender, identity, and discourse by actively analysing and engaging with long-standing and continuing debates. The findings emphasize the possibility of using discourse to confront and change deeply embedded gender biases, promoting an equal depiction of genders through the use of language.   Abstrak Artikel ini mengkaji pentingnya memahami wacana dalam studi gender. Penelitian ini memberi perhatian khusus pada cara bahasa dapat membentuk dan mempengaruhi persepsi gender. Studi ini menunjukkan pengaruh dinamika kekuasaan dalam bahasa, yang menunjukkan bagaimana wacana dapat menunjukkan dan memperkuat norma dan prasangka gender yang ada. Banyak penelitian menggunakan analisis wacana sebagai dasar kajian dinamika bahasa dan gender. Namun, berbagai pendekatan yang digunakan membuatnya tidak efektif. Penelitian ini menganalisis relevan kerangka teori untuk mendapatkan pemahaman yang lebih baik tentang bagaimana bahasa dan persepsi gender berinteraksi satu sama lain. Dengan secara aktif menganalisis dan berpartisipasi dalam perdebatan yang telah berlangsung lama dan berkelanjutan, penelitian ini meneliti dan meningkatkan pengetahuan saat ini tentang gender, identitas, dan wacana. Temuan artikel ini menekankan bahwa pendekatan wacana dapat digunakan untuk menghadapi dan mengubah bias gender yang kuat, sehingga dapat mendorong penggambaran gender yang lebih setara dan adil melalui penggunaan bahasa.

Abstract

The financial management of Badan Usaha Milik Desa (BUMDes) is a vital aspect of local economic development in Indonesia. The implementation of Kepmendesa No. 136 of 2022 is an issue that must be considered by BUMDes Gampong Siem for the preparation and management of financial reports. This community service is carried out through activities related to the preparation and reporting of finances in accordance with Kepmendesa No. 136 of 2022. Based on the assistance and training provided, it was concluded that BUMDes Gampong Siem has not yet prepared and reported finances in accordance with Kepmendesa No. 136 of 2022. Currently, BUMDes Gampong Siem, whose main businesses focus on cattle breeding and a savings and loan cooperative, still uses a traditional financial recording system, which objectively does not allow for detailed access to business management and conditions. There is a need for trained human resources to regularly oversee and prepare financial reports for BUMDes in Gampong Siem.

Abstract

The accelerated development of communication media requires numerous changes and adjustments in all fields, particularly in communication departments that link internal and external organizations. The main problem with the media today is that so much false information, or hoaxes, must be investigated further to determine its veracity. At least within the scope of the organization they manage, it is a requirement for public relations to be able to suppress any information that develops in society. This training utilizes the lecture method and several case studies presented during the training process. The outcomes of this training are that participants comprehend and can enhance their media communication skills for countering fake news and addressing media developments.

Abstract

Assignments are crucially important in learning Arabic. This research aims to describe the assignment model in Arabic language learning. Mastery of Arabic is usually only synonymous with mastery of qawaid or grammar, even though mastery of Arabic certainly requires mastering the four existing maharah or competencies, namely istima' (hearing), kalam (speaking), qiraah (reading) and kitabah (writing). Thus, it is appropriate that in learning Arabic, especially at the tertiary level, efforts should be made so that students master all language competencies. This research is a qualitative descriptive study that describes the results of the application of an assignment model in Arabic language learning. This research raises an assignment model applied in Arabic language learning at STAI (Islamic College) Tgk Chik Pante Kulu, namely short video assignments. This research data collection used interviews, observation, and documentation. The data sources used in this research were one Arabic language lecturer and three students who took Arabic language courses at STAI Tgk Chik Pante Kulu. This short video assignment can improve students' ability to master Arabic, especially in muhadatsah. As evidenced by the results of daily observations by researchers, there is an increase in ability from the initial test results compared to the results after the short video assignment. Hopefully, this assignment model can be applied in Arabic language learning to improve students' mastery of Arabic.Pemberian tugas memiliki peran yang sangat penting dalam pembelajaran bahasa Arab. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan model pemberian tugas dalam pembelajaran bahasa Arab. Penguasaan bahasa Arab biasanya hanya diidentikkan dengan penguasaan qawaid atau tata bahasa, padahal penguasaan bahasa Arab tentunya memerlukan penguasaan empat maharah atau kompetensi yang ada, yaitu istima' (mendengar), kalam (berbicara), qiraah (membaca), dan kitabah (menulis). Oleh karena itu, sudah sepatutnya dalam pembelajaran bahasa Arab, khususnya di tingkat perguruan tinggi, dilakukan upaya agar mahasiswa dapat menguasai seluruh kompetensi berbahasa tersebut. Penelitian ini merupakan studi deskriptif kualitatif yang menggambarkan hasil penerapan model pemberian tugas dalam pembelajaran bahasa Arab. Penelitian ini mengangkat model pemberian tugas yang diterapkan dalam pembelajaran bahasa Arab di STAI (Sekolah Tinggi Agama Islam) Tgk Chik Pante Kulu, yaitu tugas berupa video pendek. Pengumpulan data penelitian ini dilakukan melalui wawancara, observasi, dan dokumentasi. Sumber data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah satu orang dosen bahasa Arab dan tiga mahasiswa yang mengikuti mata kuliah bahasa Arab di STAI Tgk Chik Pante Kulu. Tugas video pendek ini dapat meningkatkan kemampuan mahasiswa dalam menguasai bahasa Arab, khususnya pada aspek muhadatsah. Hal ini dibuktikan dengan hasil observasi harian oleh peneliti yang menunjukkan adanya peningkatan kemampuan dari hasil tes awal dibandingkan dengan hasil setelah pemberian tugas video pendek dilakukan. Semoga model pemberian tugas ini dapat diterapkan dalam pembelajaran bahasa Arab untuk meningkatkan penguasaan bahasa Arab mahasiswa

Abstract

This study investigates the challenges faced by native Fataluku speakers in learning English pronunciation and the potential confusion experienced by native English speakers when interacting with Fataluku speakers who are currently learning English. These challenges arise due to phonetic differences between the two languages which can affect the effectiveness of cross-language communication. This study used voice recordings from native Fataluku speakers and analyzed consonant and vowel sounds by applying the Perceptual Assimilation Model (PAM). This model allows the identification of phonetic similarities and differences between Fataluku and English sounds, as well as the prediction of potential difficulties in second language sound acquisition.The results show that Fataluku speakers face significant difficulties in pronouncing some English sounds. The main difficulties are found in consonant pairs such as /ŋ/ and /n/, which are often mispronounced or not consistently realized. In addition, vowel pairs such as /ɪ/ and /ʊ/ are also challenging, mainly due to the absence of similar sounds in Fataluku. These findings highlight the difficulties in pronunciation not only affect Fataluku learners' confidence in speaking English, but can also lead to misunderstandings in cross-cultural interactions. As a result, cross-language communication becomes less effective, potentially affecting social integration, educational and employment opportunities for Fataluku speakers. Therefore, these findings have important implications for language teaching practices, including the need for teaching strategies that focus on difficult sounds and a contrastive phonetic approach to help Fataluku speakers improve their English speaking skills.

Abstract

Reading comprehension is considered a challenging part of learning English for many Indonesian secondary school students. This study aims to explore the causes, impacts, and possible solutions for poor reading comprehension issues. The study scrutinizes the issue by reviewing previous studies, in which a number of articles and books were critically analyzed. The results indicate that poor reading comprehension occurs due to three remarkable factors, which are students’ lack of motivation, low prior knowledge, and poor English vocabulary. Moreover, this issue also leads to three main adverse impacts, such as reducing students’ learning achievement, hindering students’ problem-solving skills, and inhibiting students’ future studies and careers. Therefore, in responding to the problem above, this study proposes two learning approaches, which are the Cooperative Integrated and Reading Composition (CIRC) Technique and Metacognitive Strategy.
