Abstract

The health of adolescents is intricately linked to their adaptation process during the period of growth and development. When adolescents lack sufficient coping skills or are bewildered by these changes, it can have detrimental effects on their health. One of the main issues impacting adolescent health is pornography and sexual activities, including kissing, masturbation, and sexual intercourse. The objective of this study is to describe pornography addiction, self-control, and their relationship with adolescent dating behaviour in the city of Manado, Indonesia. The research targets adolescents in the Manado region, based on inclusion criteria that include those aged 10-19 years who are unmarried, with a sample size of 230 respondents clustered by region. The method used in this research is a cross-sectional design, involving the direct distribution of questionnaires to prospective respondents. The questionnaires consist of the Pornography Addiction Screening Tool, Brief Self-Control, and Dating Behaviour. Data were analyzed using univariate and bivariate analysis, using the chi-square test. The results of this study showed that the level of normal pornography addiction 96.5%, risk of addiction 2.6%, vulnerable to addiction 0.9%, and addiction 0%. Bivariate analysis demonstrated a significant relationship between pornography addiction, self-control, and dating behaviour with a p-value of <0.05. The contribution of the results of this research to the field of community health, can serve as foundational data to support ongoing health promotion efforts. This includes the development of technology, as well as the strengthening of policies and adolescent health programs in schools and community health centres.

Abstract

ABSTRAKAnak usia sekolah harus memiliki pengetahuan yang baik tentang pubertas, namun pada kenyataannya masih banyak anak yang belum memiliki pengetahuan yang tepat tentang pubertas. Keterbatasan pengetahuan anak tentang pubertas juga dialami oleh mitra dimana anak mengungkapkan bahwa pengetahuan pubertas diperoleh dari internet dan anak lebih banyak bercerita tentang pubertas kepada teman, sedangkan orang tua dan guru juga mengungkapkan kesulitan untuk melakukan pendidikan seks tentang pubertas pada anak. Oleh karena itu kegiatan pemberdayaan berbasis masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan anak dan guru terkait pubertas dan keterampilan guru dalam pemanfaatan artificial intelegence dalam pendidikan pubertas kepada peserta didik. Metode dalam pelaksanaan kegiatan dengan tahapan sosialisasi kegiatan; pelatihan dalam bentuk edukasi pubertas kepada anak dengan metode permainan serta pelatihan story telling pada guru; penerapan iptek dalam bentuk pelatihan kepada guru berupa Canva, Chat GPT, dan D-Id; monitoring dan evaluasi. Pelaksanaan kegiatan dilakukan di SD GMIM 32 Manado dengan peserta 29 peserta didik dan 10 orang guru yang dilaksanakan bulan September-Oktober 2024. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan peningkatan pengetahuan anak (79%) dan guru (100%) terkait pubertas serta peningkatan keterampilan guru dalam membuat media edukasi seperti poster menggunakan canva. Kesimpulan kegiatan ini membawa dampak positif terhadap peningkatan pengetahuan anak serta peningkatan pengetahuan dan keterampilan guru.Kata kunci: Artificial Intelengence; Anak Usia Sekolah; Guru; Pubertas; Story Telling.ABSTRACTSchool-aged children should have a good understanding of puberty, but in reality, many children still lack adequate knowledge about puberty. Children's limited knowledge about puberty is also experienced by partners, where children reveal that they obtain knowledge about puberty from the internet and talk more about puberty with their friends, while parents and teachers also express difficulty in educating children about puberty. Therefore, this community-based empowerment activity aims to increase children's and teachers' knowledge related to puberty and teachers' skills in utilising artificial intelligence in puberty education for students. The method in implementing activities with the stages of socialisation of activities: training in the form of puberty education to children with game methods and storytelling training for teachers; application of science and technology in the form of training for teachers in the form of Canva, Chat GPT, and D-Id; monitoring and evaluation. The implementation of activities took place at GMIM 32 Manado Elementary School, involving 29 students and 10 teachers, from September to October 2024. The results of the activity showed an increase in children's (79%) and teachers' (100%) knowledge related to puberty, as well as an improvement in teachers' skills in creating educational media, such as posters, using Canva. Abstract

Latar Belakang: Anak usia sekolah merupakananak yang memasuki usia kisaran 6 sampai 12 tahun dan menjadi salah satu kelompok anakyang rentan dengan terjadinya masalah gizi. Dalam kondisi ini anak harus mendapatkanmakanan yang bergizi untuk mendukungproses pertumbuhannya, maka untuk dapatmengoptimalkan aktivitas anak usia sekolahperlu di dukung dengan pemenuhan gizi yang baik. Tujuan: Untuk memaparkan hasilpraktik berupa asuhan keperawatan pada keluarga dengan tahap perkembangan anakusia sekolah dengan pendekatan edukasikesehatan dan demonstrasi. Metode:Laporan kasus, penulis mengambil satukeluarga binaan dengan tahap perkembangananak usia sekolah di lingkungan 2 Tongkainakecamatan Bunaken dengan memberikanintervensi edukasi pemberian makanantambahan dalam upaya perbaikan gizi dan demonstrasi pijat tuina. Hasil : Setelahpemberian intervensi edukasi kesehatantentang pemberian makanan tambahandalam upaya perbaikan gizi keluarga sudahdapat memahami dan mengerti pentingnyagizi pada anak usia sekolah, adanyapeningkatan nafsu makan, namun secarapemenuhan porsi makan dan jenis makananbelum terpenuhi. Dan keluarga mengalamipeningkatan tingkat kemandirian keluarga(KM I menjadi KM II). Kesimpulan: Pemberianintevensi edukasi kesehatan tentangpemberian makanan tambahan dalam upayaperbaikan gizi dan demonstrasi pijat tuinabermanfaat karena bisa menambah wawasandan pengetahuan dari keluarga dalammengatasi masalah kesehatan sehingga status kesehatan keluarga dapat meningkat. Abstract

Background. School children are experiencing growth and development and therefore need food intake that contains balanced nutrition, so that the process is not disturbed. The role of parents is very important in meeting the nutritional needs of children, but there are various factors that can hinder this ability, such as lack of food availability in the household, poor feeding methods, children do not want to eat or other social factors. Objective. This study aims to describe family nursing care with the developmental stages of school-age children. Method. This research is a type of descriptive research by taking secondary data from family members who are under their supervision. Results. Nursing problems that arise in managed families more specifically in An. A are nutritional imbalances less than the body's needs, delays in child development and health behaviors tend to be at risk. Keywords: nursing problems, nutritional needs, children.

Abstract

Preschool-aged children are vulnerable to sexual violence due to limited knowledge of sexual concepts, body autonomy, and personal boundaries. Early sex education is essential to strengthen children’s protective knowledge and help-seeking behaviors. In Indonesia, however, sex education for early childhood is often constrained by social taboos, limited teacher training, and insufficient instructional resources. Teachers play a central role in delivering age-appropriate sex education in schools, yet their perceptions and experiences remain underexplored. Therefore, this study aimed to explore kindergarten teachers' perceptions of sex education for preschool-aged children, including their understanding of sex education concepts, implementation challenges, and expectations for effective delivery. A qualitative study using a descriptive-phenomenological approach was conducted from August to September 2024 in Manado City. Purposive sampling was employed to recruit 15 kindergarten teachers as main informants and 7 preschool-aged children as supporting informants for data triangulation. Data were collected through in-depth interviews and participant observation. All interviews were audio-recorded, transcribed verbatim, and analyzed thematically. Two main themes emerged: (1) sex education for preschool-aged children and (2) challenges and expectations of teachers in conducting sex education. Teachers generally understood sex education as teaching body autonomy, private body parts, gender identity, and safe versus unsafe touch. However, perceptions differed regarding the appropriate age to introduce sex education and whether girls should receive greater emphasis than boys. Children's growth, attention spans, training, and teaching medium were challenges. Teachers stressed interactive methods and engagement with parents, health workers, and government agencies. Early childhood sex education is heavily influenced by teachers' expertise, challenges, and expectations. Effective and sustainable early sex education requires teacher competency, age-appropriate resources, and multi-stakeholder collaboration.

Abstract

Abstrak Kesehatan reproduksi remaja merupakan aspek penting yang berpengaruh pada kualitas hidup dan perkembangan masa depan. Rendahnya pemahaman serta kurangnya kepercayaan diri remaja dalam mengambil keputusan sehat seringkali menjadi faktor pemicu terjadinya perilaku berisiko hal ini diakibatkan karena minimnya keterjangkauan remaja untuk mencapai layanan kesehatan, Terbatasnya pengetahuan serta pengaruh budaya Tabuh orang tua dalam memberikan pengetahuan tentang Kesehatan Reproduksi. Kegiatan Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat (PKM) ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan self-efficacy remaja dalam mengelola kesehatan reproduksi melalui pelatihan berbasis edukasi interaktif, diskusi kelompok, studi kasus, dan simulasi role play. Program ini diikuti oleh remaja usia 15–19 tahun sejumlah 50 orang dan menggunakan desain pre–post test untuk menilai perubahan pengetahuan dan keyakinan diri. Hasil post-test menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan (86%) pada pengetahuan dan keyakinan diri (82%). Peserta juga memperlihatkan partisipasi aktif selama kegiatan, yang mengindikasikan peningkatan kemampuan dalam komunikasi asertif dan pengelolaan tekanan sebaya. Pelatihan ini terbukti efektif dalam memperkuat self-efficacy remaja sehingga berpotensi menjadi strategi preventif dalam mencegah perilaku berisiko terkait kesehatan reproduksi. Program ini direkomendasikan untuk diimplementasikan secara berkelanjutan melalui kerja sama sekolah, keluarga, dan komunitas guna memastikan perubahan perilaku yang lebih konsisten dan jangka panjang. Kata kunci: kesehatan reproduksi; remaja; self-efficacy. AbstractAdolescent reproductive health is a critical determinant of quality of life and future development. Limited understanding and low self-confidence in making healthy decisions often predispose adolescents to engage in risk-taking behaviors. These challenges are exacerbated by inadequate access to youth-friendly health services, insufficient knowledge, and persistent cultural taboos that hinder parents from providing comprehensive reproductive health education. This Community Service Program (Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat/PKM) aimed to enhance adolescents’ self-efficacy in managing reproductive health through an educational intervention incorporating interactive learning, group discussions, case studies, and role-play simulations. The program involved 50 adolescents aged 15–19 years and employed a pre–post test design to assess changes in knowledge and self-efficacy. Post-test results demonstrated a substantial improvement in participants’ knowledge (86%) and self-efficacy (82%). Participants also exhibited high levels of active engagement throughout the sessions, indicating enhanced assertive communication skills and improved capacity to manage peer pressure. These findings suggest that the training was effective in strengthening adolescents’ self-efficacy and holds promise as a preventive strategy to reduce reproductive health–related risk behaviors. Sustained implementation through collaborative efforts among schools, families, and community stakeholders is recommended to support consistent and long-term behavioral change. Keywords: reproductive health; adolescents; self-efficacy

Abstract

ABSTRAK                                                                                     Kesehatan reproduksi remaja masih menjadi isu penting dalam kesehatan masyarakat di wilayah perkotaan, di mana paparan digital yang cepat serta pengaruh sosial meningkatkan kerentanan terhadap perilaku seksual berisiko. Program PERISAI (Perangi Risiko Seks Bebas Remaja) diinisiasi sebagai model promosi kesehatan perkotaan berbasis web yang bertujuan untuk memperkuat pengetahuan, kesadaran, dan self-efficacy remaja dalam mencegah perilaku seksual berisiko. Program pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini menerapkan strategi intervensi utama berupa edukasi digital interaktif, diskusi daring, pembelajaran berbasis kasus, serta simulasi berbasis web. Program ini melibatkan remaja usia 15–19 tahun dan menggunakan desain pre–post test untuk mengevaluasi perubahan pengetahuan kesehatan reproduksi dan self-efficacy. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan adanya peningkatan yang signifikan pada pemahaman peserta mengenai kesehatan reproduksi, persepsi risiko, serta kepercayaan diri dalam menetapkan batasan diri dan mengambil keputusan yang aman. Tingginya tingkat keterlibatan peserta selama kegiatan berbasis web juga menunjukkan peningkatan kemampuan komunikasi asertif dan kapasitas dalam mengelola tekanan sebaya. Inisiasi Program PERISAI membuktikan bahwa model promosi kesehatan berbasis web efektif sebagai strategi preventif dalam menurunkan perilaku seksual berisiko pada remaja perkotaan. Implementasi yang berkelanjutan melalui kolaborasi dengan sekolah, keluarga, dan pemangku kepentingan komunitas direkomendasikan untuk memastikan perubahan perilaku jangka panjang.Kata kunci: Perisai; Promosi Kesehatan; Seks Bebas; Web-Based. ABSTRACTAdolescent reproductive health remains a critical public health issue in urban settings, where rapid digital exposure and social influences increase vulnerability to risky sexual behaviours. The PERISAI Programme (Combatting the Risk of Adolescent Free Sex) was initiated as a web-based urban health promotion model aimed at strengthening adolescents’ knowledge, awareness, and self-efficacy in preventing risky sexual behaviour. This Community Service Programme employed interactive digital education, online discussions, case-based learning, and web-based simulations as core intervention strategies. The programme involved adolescents aged 15–19 years and applied a pre–post test design to evaluate changes in reproductive health knowledge and self-efficacy. The findings revealed a significant improvement in participants’ understanding of reproductive health, risk perception, and confidence in establishing personal boundaries and making safe decisions. High levels of participant engagement throughout the web-based activities also indicated enhanced assertive communication skills and improved capacity to manage peer pressure. The initiation of the PERISAI Programme demonstrates that a web-based health promotion model is effective as a preventive strategy for reducing risky sexual behaviour among urban adolescents. Sustainable implementation through collaboration with schools, families, and community stakeholders is recommended to ensure long-term behavioural change.Keywords: Perisai; Health Promotion; Free Seks; Web-Based.
