Abstract

Revolusi Industri 5.0 adalah evolusi dari Revolusi Industri 4.0, yang semakin berkembang menuntut orang untuk dapat menggunakan semua teknologi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan media pembelajaran berbasis video yang menggunakan Artificial Intelligence (AI) untuk mengajar Contextual Oral Language Skills. Metode penelitian dan pengembangan (RnD) digunakan untuk membuat produk baru, memperbaiki produk, dan menguji efektivitas media pembelajaran berbasis video animasi AI. Tahapan RnD mencakup pengumpulan data, desain produk, validasi desain, revisi desain, dan produk akhir. Sebagai subjek penelitian, 23 siswa menerima angket. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sebagian besar siswa masih menghadapi kesulitan saat menggunakan media suara untuk berbicara Bahasa Inggris. Hal ini terutama disebabkan oleh kurangnya kegiatan berlatih berbicara yang diberikan selama proses belajar mengajar. Media yang lebih interaktif dan menarik juga diperlukan untuk meningkatkan proses pembelajaran di kelas. Akibatnya, penulis mengembangkan media video animasi AI berdasarkan proses penelitian. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa video animasi AI yang telah divalidasi oleh ahli dan menerima nilai rata-rata akhir sebesar 95% sangat cocok untuk digunakan oleh mereka yang belajar berbicara bahasa Inggris.

Abstract

Orang tua berperan penting dalam memenuhi gizi anak, agar anak tumbuh dan berkembang secara optimal sesuai usianya. Penelitian ini bertujuan: 1) mengetahui pemahaman orang tua dalam memenuhi gizi makanan anak, 2) gizi makanan mempengaruhi pertumbuhan dan perkembangan anak, 3) mengetahui usaha orang tua dan lembaga Paud Sahabat Baru dalam memenuhi gizi makanan anak. Penelitian ini bersifat kualitatif. Data anak di ambil dari lembaga Paud Sahabat Baru yang beralamat di Jl.Pelajar Timur Gg.Kelapa/Lr Gabe No.12. kelurahan binjai, kecamatan Medan Denai, Sumatera Utara. Populasi anak berjumlah 30 orang. Anak perempuan berjumlah 14 orang dan laki laki berjumlah 16 orang. Hasil menunjukkan untuk meningkatkan pertumbuhan dan perkembangan anak di Paud Sahabat Baru orang tua memiliki peran yang sangat penting untuk memenuhi gizi anak, setiap harinya orang tua memberi motivasi agar anak mengkonsumsi makanan yang mengandung karbohidrat, lemak, protein, vitamin dan mineral, Orang tua juga melakukan perencanaan menyusunan menu yang bervariasi serta penyajian makanan yang menarik, memilih bahan-bahan makanan yang berkualitas dan mengolah bahan makanan yang tepat agar kandungan zat gizinya tidak hilang. Kepala sekolah dan guru memiliki peran dalam meningkatkan gizi yang di bantu pemerintah dalam memberikan fasilitas seperti program pemberian makanan tambahan, pemberian vitamin, pengukuran berat dan tinggi badan anak yang pengukurannya dibantu oleh pihak kesehatan. Anak-anak Paud juga melakukan pembiasaan berperilaku hidup bersih dan sehat disekolah.

Abstract

The objectives of this study were to investigate the types of teachers™ oral corrective feedback on speaking skill that the students prefer in grade tenth of SMK Negeri 4 Medan. This research used descriptive qualitative method and the data were collected through documentation and interview. The framework undertaken is proposed by Lyster and Ranta and the interview questions were adapted from Thorsteinsen. The data was analyzed in four steps: 1). Data Collection, 2) Data Reduction, 3). Data display, 4). Conclusion and Drawing verification. The findings found that there were 4 kinds of oral corrective feedback that the teachers gave, namely Clarification Request, Elicitation, Explicit Correction, dan Metalinguistic Feedback. The most dominant of teachers™ oral corrective feedback that the students prefer was Explicit Correction. It was 10 data or 41,7%. Based on the analysis interview, the reason why students prefer the type of teachers™ oral corrective feedback on speaking was because it could make the students easy to understand and know the correct anwser not in a long time because the teachers gave it immediately. The finding suggested that the English teacher should give the written feedback to students™ writing task to enable them improve the writing skill.

Abstract

This study aims to examine how Virtual Reality (VR) can enhance students’ public speaking skills in Receptive Oral Language Learning. VR provides a realistic and interactive environment that allows learners to practice speaking without the pressure of a real audience. Through VR, students can engage in various scenarios, receive immediate feedback, and improve their confidence and fluency in public speaking. This research employed a mixed-method approach involving interviews, documentation, and questionnaires. The findings indicate that VR is an effective tool for improving both verbal and non-verbal communication. Quantitative results show that 80% of students strongly agreed and 20% agreed that VR enhances their public speaking performance. Qualitative feedback further revealed that VR practice reduced anxiety and increased learners’ motivation. However, challenges such as the high cost of VR equipment, limited accessibility, and health-related comfort issues were also identified. Overall, VR is proven to be a valuable pedagogical tool for improving students’ public speaking competence and receptive oral language learning outcomes.

Abstract

English speaking ability, a primary competency for English Education students, is often hindered by limited practice, lack of confidence, and minimal independent learning media. This study investigates the effectiveness of the Duolingo English Test (Free Practice) platform as a digital learning medium within the Receptive Oral Language Skills course to enhance students' English speaking abilities. This study uses a quantitative approach with a one-group quasi-experimental design, involving a pre-test and post-test to measure improvement before and after the intervention. The intervention consisted of routine practice using the Duolingo platform and supplementary materials from the "Teacher Luke" YouTube channel. Quantitative data from test scores were analyzed using a paired sample t-test, while qualitative data from questionnaires were used to explore student perceptions. The results of this study are expected to provide an effective, flexible learning solution suited for students in the digital era. The conclusion indicates that the strategic use of digital media like the Duolingo English Test can be encouraged in speaking skills instruction at the university level.
