Abstract

Penderita Osteoarthritis (OA) Knee tercatat sebanyak 5% dari total seluruh penderita OA knee di dunia sehingga diperlukan alat ukur yang relevan dan reliable untuk mengukur activities daily living (ADL) dan body function pada penderita OA. Selain menguji apakah alat ukur tersebut valid dan reliabel, diperlukan uji inter-rater reliability dari Indeks The Western Ontario and McMaster University Osteoarthritis Index (WOMAC) untuk digunakan di Indonesia. Penelitian ini adalah psychometric study dengan pendekatan cross-sectional untuk menguji inter-rater reliability pada instrumen pengukuran WOMAC yang diujikan kepada fresh graduated fisioterapi dengan seorang pasien osteoarthritis dihari yang sama. Analisis item-per-item dilakukan kepada rater sebelum dilakukannya pemeriksaan kepada pasien. Reliabilitas inter-rater diukur menggunakan fleiss kappa (κ). Indek WOMAC yang terdiri dari 5 pertanyaan yang menanyakan keluhan nyeri, 2 pertanyaan tentang kekakuan dan 17 pertanyaan tentang kesulitan dalam melakukan aktifitas keseharian. Hasil uji statistic mengungkapkan bahwa uji inter-rater reliability untuk WOMAC adalah fair agreement, yang berarti klasifikasi kesepakatan antar rater dikatakan belum cukup adekuat untuk digunakan pada fresh graduated fisioterapi.

Abstract

Introduction: Describe clinical reports of pre- and postneurofunctional interventions in cases of agenesis of the corpus callosum. Clinical case: The baby was born spontaneously with a weight of 3100 g, 40 weeks of gestation and required a stimulus of applause for 10s until finally the baby cried for the first time. The baby was born with the thumb congenitally entwined bilaterally. At the initial evaluation, the child has fluctuating tone in the upper and lower extremities. Spasm in the upper trapezius, tibialis anterior and facial muscles (frontal, masseter, obricularis oris), very weak central muscles and hypotonia of the upper and lower extremities. The goals of neurofunctional intervention are to improve motor skills, improve head control, improve core ability in sitting position, and readiness to crawl. the child did not show any orthopedic deformities, but there was limited range of motion and muscle weakness and changes. Conclusion: Functional focused motor interventions proved to be effective, as GMFM showed an improvement in gross motor function after a short intervention period from 31 points to 48 points in the total dimension B.

Abstract

Limited hamstring flexibility and decreased knee extension range of motion (ROM) are risk factors for musculoskeletal injuries in recreational female runners. This study aimed to compare the effectiveness of proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation (PNF) with nerve glide in improving hamstring flexibility and knee extension ROM. This quasi-experimental pre-test–post-test study involved 20 female runners from the Solo Runners community, who were randomly assigned to two groups (PNF and nerve glide, n=10 each). Both groups underwent 12 intervention sessions over 4 weeks (3 times/week). Flexibility was measured using the Sit and Reach Test (SRT), while knee extension ROM was measured using the Active Knee Extension (AKE) test. Data were analyzed using the Wilcoxon test, paired t-test, and Mann–Whitney U test. Both interventions significantly improved hamstring flexibility (PNF Δ=+7.1 cm, p=0.004; nerve glide Δ=+5.4 cm, p=0.004) and knee extension ROM (PNF Δ=−13.2°, p<0.001; nerve glide Δ=−10.1°, p=0.005). The improvement in flexibility was greater in the PNF group than in the nerve glide group (p=0.001), whereas the between-group difference in Δ ROM was not statistically significant (p=0.057). PNF is more effective than nerve glide in improving hamstring flexibility, whereas both techniques yield similar results in improving knee extension ROM. The selection of technique should be tailored to the primary source of movement limitation, whether muscle-dominant or nerve-related.

Abstract

Kegiatan latihan edukasi kesehatan yang dilakukan pada anak-anakTPA Amanda Gonilan diikuti oleh sekitar 30 anak pada pertemuanpertama dengan usia 6-12 tahun. Kegiatan awal diisi denganpengenalan dan screening foot print sebagai pemeriksaan flat footdan didapatkan data dari 30 anak TPA 19 diantaranya menderita flatfoot. Penentuan flat foot menggunakan perhitungan clark’s angle,dengan rata-rata sudut 19-20 derajat dan mengukur keseimbangananak dengan kondisi flat foot. Setelah didapatkan data anak yangmengalami flat foot dilakukan diskusi ddengan pengurus TPAAmanda Gonilan terkait perizinan latihan pada keluarga anak yanghasilnya tiap anggota komunitas terbagi menjadi 2 kelompok untukmelakukan perizinan door to door ke tiap anak. Dari 19 anak yangmenderita flat foot hanya 8 diantaranya yang bisa mengikutiprogram latihan, permasalahan perizinan yang tidak diberikankeluarga terkait lokasi latihan, kesibukan anak, ataupun dari anakitu sendiri tidak kooperatif dalam kunjungan
