Abstract

Bullying is aggressive behavior or action that involves an imbalance of power that is detrimental to others. Most bullying occurs at school and a lot of data can prove that schools are the biggest contributors to bullying behavior.  The output of this community services is  Being able to provide an understanding of the importance of creating conditions and a good and comfortable school atmosphere for students to avoid bullying behavior at school. This community services held  with lecture method accompanied by an explanation and interactive discussion involving all participants. The implementation of this Community Service is going well and smoothly. The success factor of this Community Service activities at MAN 10 Jakarta is the enthusiasm of participants in receiving material and communicative material delivery by the Speakers. While the obstacle in this activity is the unavailability of credible resource persons and the limited time to carry out the Activity.

Abstract

The experience of everyday intercultural communication events and encounters will always shape one's intercultural communication perspective. This perspective is also fully interwoven in our deeply held beliefs and values, which guide our thoughts and actions both within and across cultural boundaries, as well as our understandings of the other cultures we encounter. Therefore, it is a must to have intercultural communication competence in crossing these cultural differences. This study aims to develop Intercultural Communication Competence: a Case Study on Intercultural Intelligence of International students in Melaka, Malaysia. Using the concept of Intercultural Communication Competence, this study investigates studies related to the intercultural communication competence of international students in Melaka, Malaysia. The paradigm used in this study is constructivism. This study uses a qualitative method with a single case study design and data collection techniques with interviews and documentation studies. The subjects of this research are international students studying in Malaysia. Miles and Huberman’s data analysis technique was used in this study, which includes three activities, namely data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing (verification). The findings of this study provide a description of international students' intercultural communication competence as evidenced by their attitudes, skills, knowledge, and behavior in accepting a culture other than their own. They have a strong desire to be able to adapt to a new culture, even though they are frequently hampered by language differences and stereotypes during the adaptation process.Keywords:  Intercultural, communication, competence, foreign  student

Abstract

The research entitled Marketing Communication Pattern of the Tourism and Culture Office in Building a Maritime Tourism Destination Brand in Padang City intends to find out the patterns and marketing communication strategies carried out by the Tourism and Culture Office in Padang City in building their Maritime Tourism Destination Brand. This is motivated by the need for the Government Office, especially regarding tourism to be able to do marketing and promotion so that tourists who visit continue to increase. Coupled with an increase in the tourism sector is one part of President Joko Widodo's nawacita that must be realized. The city of Padang has amazing marine tourism destinations. Abstract

Pandemi Covid-19  memang membawa perubahan yang sangat signifikan disegala aspek kehidupan masyarakat. Tidak hanya dalam aspek ekonomi, aspek kesehatan, aspek politik, aspek sosial, hingga merubah gaya hidup masyarakat. Gaya hidup yang paling banyak berubah adalah cara berinteraksi dan mobilisasi masyarakat yang harus melakukan semua kegiatan sehari-hari di rumah. Akibatnya, terjadi kejenuhan tinggi yang menyebabkan masyarakat mulai mencari media-media hiburan alternatif untuk menghindari kejenuhan di rumah.Selain memanfaatkan media elektronik seperti televisi dan radio ataupun media  komunikasi  seperti  smartphone,  saat  ini  masyarakat  Indonesia  sedang marak menggunakan Video on Demand (VoD) sebagai media hiburan alternatif untuk  menghilangkan  kejenuhan  beraktivitas  di  rumah.  Salah  satu  VoD  yang sangat populer saat ini di Indonesia adalah Netflix.Peneliti menilai bahwa perlu adanya penelitian yang menggambarkan penggunaan Video on Demand (VoD) Neflix ini sebagai media hiburan alternatif selama pandemi 2020. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah studi kasus dengan pendekatan Kualitatif. Adapun yang menjadi subjek penelitian ini adalah pengguna aktif Netflix yang menjadikan Netfliz sebagai media hiburan alternatif selama Pandemi. Hasil dari penelitian ini diharapkan dapat dipublikasikan dalam jurnal nasional terakreditasi Sinta 5, yaitu Jurnal Visi Komunikasi. Sebagai penelitian dasar, maka penelitian ini dapat dikategorikan dalam tingkat kesiapterapan teknologi (TKT) level 3, yaitu sebagai pembuktian konsep fungsi dan/atau karakteristik penting secara analitis dan eksperimental.Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan Preferensi khalayak pada konten media digital dibanding konten yang disajikan oleh media konvensional dikarenakan adanya  kemudahaan dan nilai efisien yang ditawarkan oleh media digital sehingga khalayak dapat menikmati konten siaran dimanapun dan kapanpun walaupun hanya dengan menggunakan smartphone, varian siaran yang terbatas dan monoton, serta kualitas isi siaran yang kurang kreatif dan tidak lagi mendidik masyarakat untuk menjadi penonton yang cerdas.

Abstract

The General Election (Pemilu) is a democratic event held every five years by the Indonesian people to elect the President and Vice President. The next election will take place on February 14, 2024. There are three pairs of presidential and vice-presidential candidates who will compete: Pair Number 1, Anies Rasyid Baswedan and Muhaimin Iskandar; Pair Number 2, Prabowo Subianto and Gibran Rakabuming Raka; and Pair Number 3, Ganjar Pranowo and Mahfud MD. As in previous elections, the General Election Commission (KPU) will organize five debate sessions, comprising three for presidential candidates and two for vice-presidential candidates. So far, two debates have been held—one for each candidate type. An intriguing moment occurred during the vice-presidential debate on December 22, 2023, when one candidate asked another about the abbreviation "SGIE," which the latter failed to answer. This sparked a wave of reactions on social media, especially TikTok, where more than 30.4 million posts featured the hashtag #SGIE. Due to this widespread attention, the researchers were motivated to study the phenomenon using a netnographic approach. Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini berfokus pada peningkatan kemampuan produksi audio siswa di SMK Prima Unggul di Kota Tangerang dengan menerapkan pengetahuan teoritis secara praktis dalam produksi audio-visual. Inisiatif ini memberikan pengenalan pada teknik audio esensial, termasuk pemilihan mikrofon, pengaturan, dan manajemen suara. Dengan menggunakan format berbentuk paparan dan praktik, program ini memungkinkan siswa untuk berpartisipasi aktif dalam latihan rekaman dan penyuntingan audio. Evaluasi menunjukkan bahwa siswa mencapai kemahiran tinggi dalam pemilihan mikrofon, dengan skor rata-rata 9 dari 10. Namun, skor untuk pengaturan mikrofon dan manajemen suara lebih rendah, dengan rata-rata 7,5 dan 7, menunjukkan area yang memerlukan peningkatan lebih lanjut. Secara keseluruhan, kegiatan ini secara signifikan meningkatkan keterampilan teknis siswa, mempersiapkan mereka untuk kemampuan tingkat lanjut dalam produksi audio sambil menekankan kebutuhan untuk praktik berkelanjutan dan pelatihan khusus.

Abstract

Abstrak Keterampilan presentasi yang kuat sangat penting bagi para guru dan siswa-siswi, meningkatkan komunikasi, keterlibatan, dan hasil pembelajaran secara keseluruhan, serta membangun kepercayaan diri dan mempersiapkan siswa-siswi untuk kesuksesan di masa mendatang. Presentasi yang efektif memanfaatkan hubungan antara penyaji dan audiens dengan sebaik-baiknya. Hal ini mempertimbangkan sepenuhnya kebutuhan audiens untuk menarik minat mereka, mengembangkan pemahaman mereka, menginspirasi kepercayaan diri mereka dan mencapai tujuan penyaji. Dengan demikian, penting untuk meningkatkan pemahaman dan keterampilan bagi para guru dan siswa melalui kegiatan pelatihan teknik presentasi yang efektif. Tujuan kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat (PkM) ini adalah, meningkatnya pemahaman dan keterapilan presentasi efektif para guru dan siswa-siswi Sekolah Menengah Atas Negeri (SMAN) 1 Cimarga, Kabupaten Lebak, Provinsi Banten. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan bahwa kegiatan pelatihan ini mendapatkan tanggapan positif, karena dianggap dapat meningkatkan pemahaman guru dan siswa tentang komunikasi efektif, keterampilan presentasi, dan penggunaan alat bantu visual, serta mendorong kepercayaan diri dalam menyampaikan ide secara jelas dan menarik di depan audiens. Kata kunci: teknik presentasi; komunikasi efektif; para guru; siswa-siswi. Abstract Strong presentation skills are crucial for both teachers and students, enhancing communication, engagement, and overall learning outcomes, as well as building confidence and preparing students for future success. Presenting well means achieving a high level of impact in front of a group of people, delivering a presentation that inspires and motivates others, or communicating information in a powerful way. An effective presentation makes the most of the relationship between presenter and audience. It fully considers the audience’s needs to capture their interest, develop their understanding, inspire their confidence, and achieve the presenter’s goals. Therefore, it is important to improve the understanding and skills of teachers and students through training activities on effective presentation techniques. The purpose of this community service (PkM) activity is to increase the understanding and skills of effective presentations among teachers and students of Public Senior High School (SMAN) 1 Cimarga, Lebak Regency, Banten Province. The results showed that this training activity received a positive response, because it was considered to improve teachers’ and students’ understanding of effective communication, presentation skills, and the use of visual aids, as well as boosting confidence in conveying ideas clearly and compellingly in front of an audience. Keywords: presentation techniques; effective communication; teachers; students.
