Abstract

This study aims to explore the integration process between Islamic Education and the Citizenship Curriculum in the management of education at Islamic boarding schools (Pondok Pesantren). Amidst the challenges of social change and globalization, it is crucial for educational institutions to produce individuals who not only possess a deep understanding of religion but also awareness of their rights and responsibilities as citizens. Islamic boarding schools, with their distinctive characteristics that combine religious and general education, offer opportunities to develop a curriculum that integrates these two aspects. This research employs a qualitative approach with a case study in several Islamic boarding schools with diverse characteristics and backgrounds. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with school administrators, educators, and field observations. The findings reveal that although integration between religious and civic education has been initiated, its implementation still faces challenges, such as limitations in human resources and a curriculum that is not yet fully coordinated. The study also highlights the importance of strong managerial support, collaboration between the schools and various stakeholders, as well as adjustments in teaching methods to foster a comprehensive understanding of citizenship aligned with Islamic values. Based on these findings, the study recommends enhancing the capacity of school administrators, developing a more holistic curriculum, and providing continuous training for educators. Abstract

This study aims to examine the model of productive zakat governance implemented by BAZNAS of Majalengka Regency, focusing on the implementation of zakat programs in the education sector, including scholarships, educational infrastructure development, and vocational training. It also explores the role of information technology in enhancing transparency and accountability in zakat distribution. The research employs a qualitative field-based approach by collecting primary data through direct observations, in-depth interviews with zakat management officials, beneficiaries, and educational institution administrators, as well as documentation of relevant institutional reports. Secondary data were obtained from internal publications, zakat distribution records, and program evaluations. The analysis of the collected data was conducted using the interactive model of Miles and Huberman, which involves data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing to ensure systematic interpretation and validity of the findings. The findings reveal that BAZNAS Majalengka has successfully developed an effective digital-based zakat management system, which improves community participation and ensures targeted distribution. The zakat scholarship program has shown a positive impact on the social mobility and academic performance of students from underprivileged backgrounds. The study concludes that a transparent, collaborative, and technology-driven zakat governance model can serve as a strategic alternative funding source for the sustainable improvement of Islamic education quality at the local level.

Abstract

The rapid advancement of digital technology has significantly reshaped educational practices, requiring teachers to evolve from knowledge transmitters into dynamic facilitators of student-centred learning. This study adopts a library research method combined with content analysis to examine how teachers’ roles have transformed in response to technological innovation, particularly in enhancing learning effectiveness and student engagement. By reviewing a broad spectrum of recent scholarly articles, policy reports, and empirical studies, the research highlights that the integration of tools such as Learning Management Systems (LMS), Artificial Intelligence (AI), and interactive online platforms has fundamentally changed classroom dynamics and instructional design. For example, the use of gamified learning applications has been shown to increase student participation by fostering a sense of achievement, while adaptive learning software enables teachers to tailor content to individual progress, thereby improving comprehension and retention. As a result, educators are expected to develop advanced digital literacy, create innovative learning experiences, and adopt flexible strategies that respond to diverse learner needs. This shift requires sustained professional development, supportive institutional frameworks, and responsive educational policies that equip teachers to thrive in technology-rich environments. Moreover, meaningful integration of technology rather than its mere adoption has emerged as the key factor in driving improvements in motivation, engagement, and academic outcomes. This study contributes to the discourse on teacher professionalisation in the digital age and offers recommendations for policymakers and educational leaders to design effective training initiatives and support mechanisms for educators adapting to these evolving demands.

Abstract

The rapid adoption of QRIS (Quick Response Code Indonesian Standard) in Indonesia has transformed consumer payment behavior, particularly among Generation Z. However, empirical studies exploring its influence on merchant adoption in the street food sector remain limited. Previous literature has predominantly examined QRIS usage from the perspective of financial inclusion, with minimal attention to the intergenerational dynamics between digital-native consumers and small-scale vendors. This study employed a descriptive qualitative approach with thematic analysis to investigate Generation Z’s usage patterns of QRIS and merchant responses to its implementation. Primary data were collected through semi-structured interviews with ten Generation Z consumers, selected purposively based on their high frequency of QRIS use in food purchases. Two street food vendors were chosen to represent differing age groups and digital literacy levels. Findings indicate that most Generation Z participants consistently preferred QRIS over cash, citing transaction speed, ease of use, and perceived security as key factors. Several respondents stated they would avoid purchasing from vendors without QRIS availability, indicating a demand-driven influence on merchant practices. Merchant responses varied: younger, digitally literate vendors readily adopted QRIS, while older vendors encountered barriers such as limited device access and low digital literacy. The small number of merchant participants reflects the study’s focus on depth of insight rather than breadth of sampling. These results suggest that Generation Z’s payment preferences are accelerating the integration of digital payments in micro and small enterprises, though intergenerational disparities in adoption remain a challenge for broader financial technology inclusion.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation and explore the impact of regulatory compliance-based reflective learning at Bina Insan Mulia Islamic Boarding School as a strategy to enhance students’ autonomy and moral awareness. The research focuses on how adherence to educational regulations serves as an ethical framework for improving learning quality. A Classroom Action Research (CAR) design employing a descriptive qualitative approach was applied. Data were collected through classroom observations, teacher reflections, and student interviews over two action cycles. The analysis revealed that regulatory-based reflective learning not only enhanced students’ motivation and responsibility but also fostered self-autonomy and moral awareness. Overall, the model demonstrates a synergy between pedagogical innovation and legal compliance, cultivating an ethical and independent learning culture aligned with national education principles.
