Abstract

This research aims to produce science electronic student worksheet based on Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) on environmental pollution material, determine the quality of the electronic student worksheet that has been developed, and determine students' responses to the electronic student worksheet that has been developed. According to Thiagarajan, this type of research includes research and development with the 4D development model through the Define, Design, Develop stages. Observation, interview, and questionnaire techniques were used to collect data, while data collection instruments had observation sheets, interview sheets, expert assessment sheets and student response questionnaire sheets. The V-Aiken index and descriptive data analysis were used to analyze the data. The results of this research include: a CTL-based science electronic student worksheet on environmental pollution material for seventh grade middle school students has been produced through the development stages of define, design, develop; the quality of the science electronic student worksheet is declared valid with high criteria; and students responded very agreeably to the CTL-based science electronic student worksheet. Thus, the CTL-based science electronic student worksheet has met the eligibility criteria as junior high school science teaching materials.

Abstract

This study explores innovations in generative AI named Esisbot to support students in improving their understanding and insights into indigenous knowledge. In science, mathematics, and technology education, Indigenous knowledge is often overlooked and receives little attention. This topic is rarely considered in research on technology policy and the use of technology in education. Advanced technologies such as Chat GPT and generative AI are currently being considered. However, higher education policymakers have not yet prioritized improving the capabilities and role of generative AI in building databases of Indigenous scientific material for science, technology, engineering, and mathematics education is urgent needed. The methods of this research through empirical studies and use mixed methods in three universities as an example such as University Tadulako, UIN Walisongo Semarang, and University of Sarjanawiyata Tamansiswa. The data was obtained through indepth interviews wth 5 students in each location, classroom observation, and interviews with 3 lecturers and distributive questionnaires to 30 students each. While, the method of analysis uses descriptive analysis and inferential analysis, interpretation and triangulation. The statistical analysis using a paired sample t-test (t(29) = 6.781, p < 0.001) further supports the conclusion that Esisbot played a significant role in advancing learning outcomes. The findings indicate that Esisbot significantly benefits students by enhancing their comprehension of indigenous knowledge and improving their quality and capacity in understanding STEM within a local knowledge framework

Abstract

Di tengah wabah covid-19, populasi hama wereng harus ditangani secara cepat, agar tidak menjadi ancaman bagi petani padi di Bantul. Wereng merusak tanaman padi dan juga merupakan penyakit penular virus kerdil. Sebagian besar wilayah pertanian di kabupaten bantul terserang hama wereng. Salah satunya adalah Dusun Krapyak Wetan RT 05 Desa Panjangrejo, Kecamatan Pundong, Kabupaten Bantul. Ditemukan terdapat kendala atau permasalahan yang dihadapi petani dan dinas pertanian, terutama permasalahan pada 1) Bagaimana mengidentifikasi banyaknya penyebaran hama wereng yang menyerang pertanian sebagian kecamatan di kabupaten Bantul yang mengakibatkan beberapa petani mengalami gagal panen; dan 2) bagaimana cara mencegah populasi hama wereng tersebut; dan 3) bagaimana mengatasi penyebaran hama wereng di pertanian warga agar hasil panen optimal. Metode dalam pelaksanaan kegiatan ini adalah dengan mengadakan workshop untuk peningkatan kapasitas dan pemberdayaan petani di Dusun Krapyak Wetan RT 05 Desa Panjangrejo. Kegiatan workshop dilaksanakan sebagai berikut: 1) sosialisasi pengetahuan tentang penyebaran wereng kepada para petani dan cara mencegahnya; 2) workshop cara mencegah penyebaran hama wereng pada tanaman padi dengan pemodelan matematika berbasis program maple; 3) workshop tentang cara pembuatan dan penggunaan pestisida alami yang tepat dalam mengendalikan hama wereng dengan menggunakan program maple matematika; 4) pendampingan mitra dan diseminasi kegiatan. Adapun hasil program yaitu 1) peningkatan pengetahuan mitra mengenai pencegahan hama wereng; 2) berkurangnya hama wereng di pertanian warga mencapai; dan 3) peningkatan keterampilan dalam memanfaatkan pestisida. Berdasarkan angket yang disebarkan, diperoleh 62% menyatakan baik dalam isi materi, 70% menyatakan baik dalam kejelasan pemateri dan 60% menyatakan baik terkait manfaat materi ini. Kata Kunci: Hama wereng, pestisida, program maple.
