Abstract

The results of interviews with junior high school teachers in Muaro Jambi Regency revealed that student participation in learning is still lacking and they often ignore assignments given by teachers. They consider science material difficult and uninteresting, which impacts low learning outcomes. This problem is not only caused by internal factors of the students, but also by external factors, namely teachers. Observations show that the learning methods applied are not varied. In addition, teachers' understanding of student learning psychology is still not optimal, thus impacting students' self-confidence and learning motivation. This activity aims to provide practical solutions to MGMP Science teachers in Cluster 1 Muaro Jambi in improving student learning motivation. The implementation method is a participatory workshop involving material presentation, interactive discussions, and practical training on developing learning tools oriented towards increasing learning motivation. The activity evaluation showed a positive response from participants to the activities carried out, with an average score of 3.65 for participant responses, 3.74 for material relevance, 3.91 for usefulness, and 3.91 for clarity of delivery, all in the very good category. These results indicate that the material presented is relevant to teachers' needs and has great potential to be implemented in learning practices.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the body structure of Aurelia aurita as a diploblastic organism based on its embryonic layers and morphological characteristics within the phylum Cnidaria. The research employed a literature study method using a qualitative descriptive approach through the review of journals, books, and scientific articles published between 2022 and 2026. Data collection was conducted by identifying, selecting, and examining relevant scientific sources related to the anatomy, morphology, and developmental biology of Aurelia aurita. The collected data were analyzed systematically through reduction, classification, interpretation, and presentation stages to obtain comprehensive findings. The results showed that Aurelia aurita possesses two main embryonic layers, namely ectoderm and endoderm, with mesoglea acting as a supporting layer between them. The ectoderm develops into the epidermis, tentacles, and cnidocytes functioning in defense and prey capture, while the endoderm develops into the gastrodermis and gastrovascular cavity responsible for digestion and nutrient distribution. Morphologically, this organism has a transparent umbrella-shaped body, radial symmetry, oral arms, a diffuse nervous system, and simple organ systems functioning through diffusion mechanisms. These body structures support the adaptability, survival, feeding efficiency, and ecological role of Aurelia aurita in aquatic environments effectively.

Abstract

The development of the central nervous system in Mus musculus is a complex biological process that occurs through several stages, including neurulation, neuronal proliferation, neuronal migration, neuronal differentiation, neurogenesis, and synaptogenesis. This study aimed to explore the stages of central nervous system development in Mus musculus and the factors influencing them through a literature review approach. The method used was descriptive qualitative analysis based on scientific journals and books published between 20162026. The results showed that neurulation plays a role in forming the basic structure of the brain and spinal cord, while the stages of proliferation, migration, differentiation, and synaptogenesis contribute to the formation of neural networks and nervous system function. This process is influenced by genetic and environmental factors, including nutrition, hormones, stress, and exposure to chemical substances. The use of Mus musculus as an animal model has significantly contributed to the development of neurobiology and neurological health research.

Abstract

Sarcopenia is defined as the progressive decline in skeletal muscle mass, strength, and function associated with the aging process. This literature review aims to analyze various mouse models used in sarcopenia research, with a primary focus on the C57BL/6 strain. A narrative literature review was conducted systematically by searching the Scopus and Google Scholar databases using the keywords “sarcopenia”, “mouse model”, “muscle atrophy”, and “C57BL/6”. A total of 12 relevant articles published between 2020 and 2024 were selected based on the inclusion criteria. The analysis results showed that muscle mass decline in mice generally begins progressively at the age of 18–24 months and becomes more significant at 23-32 months, with male mice being more susceptible than females. Natural aging, dexamethasone induction, and immobilization models were the most frequently used, consistently demonstrating type II fiber atrophy, mitochondrial dysfunction, increased ROS, and suppression of the mTORC1 pathway. Therapeutic candidates such as Delta-Like 1 Homolog (DLK1) and Ulmus macrocarpa extract showed promising effects in reducing muscle atrophy. Although mouse models provide valuable insights into the mechanisms of sarcopenia, biomechanical differences and sex-specific responses between mice and humans must be considered to enhance the translational value of the research. This review is expected to serve as a reference for researchers in selecting the appropriate mouse model for sarcopenia studies.
