Abstract

Objective: Hypertension if not treated immediately will cause complications of coronary heart disease, heart failure, damage to cerebral blood vessels, and kidney failure and even death. One of the causes of hypertension is lack of physical activity in pre-elderly. The purpose of this study was to determine the Effect of Elderly Physical Fitness Gymnastics (SKJ) on Reducing Blood Pressure in Pre-Elderly (49-59 Years) with Hypertension. Methods: The research design was a Quasi-experimental pre-post test with a pretest-posttest with control group design. A sample size of 25 pre-elderly intervention groups and 25 pre-elderly control groups were selected with inclusion and exclusion criteria. The independent variable is Physical Fitness Gymnastics and the dependent variable is Hypertension in pre-elderly. The instrument in this study was to measure blood pressure using a Sphygmomanometer and observation sheet. Statistical tests using Paired T-Test with a significance level of 0.0 Results: The results from the fourth week in the intervention group with a Paired T-test value of 0.001 or <0.050. Because the P value is smaller than the significance level (0.05) then (Ha) is accepted. So the conclusion is that there is an effect of Elderly Physical Fitness Gymnastics on Blood Pressure in Pre-Elderly (45-59 Years) with Hypertension. While the results of the Paired T-test in the control group were 0.574 or >0.050. Because the P value is greater than the significance level (0.05) then (Ha) is rejected. So the conclusion is that there is no effect of Blood Pressure in Pre-Elderly (45-59 Years) with Hypertension Conclusion: Physical Fitness Gymnastics needs to be carried out as a supporting therapy in treatment interventions to lower blood pressure in pre-hypertension elderly

Abstract

Hypertension is one of the leading causes of death in the world. Farmer groups are at risk of developing hypertension. Several contributing factors include exposure to pesticides, unhealthy lifestyles (such as lack of exercise, smoking, consumption of high-sodium foods, stress, and alcoholic beverages), and heavy work that can cause fatigue. Lifestyle modifications that are known to prevent hypertension are physical activities that are carried out regularly, such as hypertension gymnastics. The implementation of hypertension gymnastics has been carried out in the community in Pajarakan Village to help prevent hypertension using the field survey approach method and hypertension gymnastics training. A total of 26 participants participated in hypertension gymnastics which ended with the provision of hypertension gymnastics videos to representatives of the residents. Pre- and post-test screening was also carried out after 3 days of intervention to determine the decrease in blood pressure in the farmer group. The results obtained on the first, second and third days were 0.000 (<0.05), meaning that there was an effect of hypertension gymnastics on reducing blood pressure. The community is expected to be able to hold hypertension gymnastics independently and regularly.

Abstract

Diabetes Mellitus (DM) is a growing public health problem in Indonesia, particularly among the elderly. Type 2 DM develops slowly and is closely linked to unhealthy lifestyles. Elderly people with DM require family support to prevent complications and improve their quality of life. This study aims to describe the implementation of family nursing care for DM patients at the Sananwetan Community Health Center in Blitar City. The research design was a case study involving four families with elderly people with DM. The nursing care process consisted of assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation. The instruments used included the family assessment format, the Indonesian Nursing Diagnosis Standards (SDKI), the Indonesian Nursing Outcome Standards (SLKI), and the Indonesian Nursing Intervention Standards (SIKI). Implementation was carried out through an educational approach using leaflets and calendars containing information about acupressure therapy and DM management. This study identified six nursing diagnoses: ineffective family health management, readiness to improve family coping, unstable blood glucose levels, knowledge deficit, readiness to improve knowledge, and non-compliance. The interventions provided demonstrated improved family knowledge, active involvement in care, and patient adherence to diabetes treatment and management. Family nursing care with an educational approach and supporting media has proven effective in enhancing the family's role in diabetes management in the elderly. Family support is a key factor in successful disease control. It is recommended that families continue to develop health management skills, healthcare providers improve family education, and community health centers strengthen ongoing education programs.

Abstract

Health development focuses on preventive activities by increasing awareness and the ability to live healthily for everyone in order to improve the level of public health. Health development should start from the smallest unit of society, namely the family. One of the government policies to achieve health development in Indonesia is PIS-PK (Healthy Indonesia Program-Family Approach). The PIS-PK program is very much in line with the concept of family nursing care, which is a nursing practice activity with a family nursing process approach. The aim of this activity was to increase the Healthy Family Index after providing family nursing care. The target of this activity was 10 families suffering from non-communicable diseases in RT.03/RW.02, Tanjungsari Village, Blitar City. The methods used start from assessment activities, establishing nursing diagnoses, determining nursing interventions, implementing nursing and conducting evaluations. This form of activity involved home visits to all target families. The indicators of success of this activity were the achievement of all nursing outcomes determined in the process of implementing nursing care and an increase in the healthy family index. The data obtained was presented in descriptive form. The results of this activity were an increase in the Healthy Family Index, of the 6 families in the Pre-Healthy category after being given family nursing care, 4 of them increased to healthy families and all the nursing outcomes specified in nursing care were all fulfilled. It is suggested to community health center nurses to apply this family nursing care in implementing the PIS-PK program.

Abstract

Life expectancy is one of the indicators of the success of health development, especially in the elderly population. One way to improve Healthy Life Expectancy is through Active Aging, which aims to transform previously inactive seniors into active individuals, with the goal of extending life expectancy in a healthy and quality manner. The partner in this community's dedication was Blitar PSTW in Tulungagung who had an old age problem, lack of physical activity, poor quality of sleep and lack of use of empty land. The aim of the beginner community service program was to empower potential elderly individuals to produce aromatic materials in the form of essential oils and scented candles, starting from planting the plants that provide the raw materials, all the way to the production of aromatic materials to enhance their physical activity. The results of the data analysis used the Wilcoxon signed-rank test showed P=0.000, thus it can be concluded that the used of aromatherapy at night and increased physical activity through gardening and the activities of making aromatherapy materials conducted by the elderly can improved sleep quality. This service has produced an innovative technology product in the form of Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for the production of essential oils and aromatherapy candles, aromatherapy candles, essential oils, and therapy gardens. The outcomes achieved in healthy living skills include utilizing free time by engaging in activities for the elderly (16%) and improving the quality of sleep for the elderly (86%).

Abstract

Background: Many individuals in the Yasinan group report experiencing pain in their knees and back, and they also have a history of elevated uric acid levels. Uric acid is a waste product generated from the metabolism of purines, primarily filtered by the kidneys and excreted through urine. Excess uric acid accumulation in the body, known as hyperuricemia, can lead to the formation of sharp uric acid crystals in the joints, tissues, and other organs, causing inflammation and discomfort. Objective: This community service initiative aimed to enhance the understanding of the Yasinan group in Tlogo Village, Blitar Regency, East Java, regarding the use of red guava as a non-pharmacological intervention to help reduce uric acid levels. Method: The socialization activity was carried out with thirty-three participants from the Yasinan mothers’ collective. Educational materials were delivered through informational brochures and red guava samples. An evaluative assessment was conducted via post-intervention uric acid analysis to monitor changes in uric acid levels following a seven-day intervention period. Results: The findings indicated that after seven days of red guava consumption, there was an average decrease in uric acid levels of 1.128 mg/dL among participants. Conclusion: The socialization program demonstrated that the consumption of red guava fruit for seven consecutive days may contribute to a reduction in uric acid concentrations, with an average decline of 1.128 mg/dL observed.
